@@testdrivehero Yes, indeed, very rare to see these days. I don't think it's a great car, never was, but somehow it does have character. The one my grandparents had was in need of repairs quite often, despite seeing little use, and the gearbox did the "singing" back when the car was only 10 years old.

This is a very rare car here in the UK in right hand drive, only about 3300 were ever sold here and about 20 remain today. The 1929cc diesels were fairly decent engines though. Is it difficult to get parts to keep these running?
Well, not easy to find parts on these days... The best way is to have one running and buying another one in bad condition with all the parts avalaible. Not an easy option of course.
Well after 31 years it has some technical flaws and needs fixing. That happens to the best of us... And its not an unsafe car, probably needs new suspension parts.

FT06 BHD is a SEAT IBIZA number plate Colour Black Fuel type Petrol Date registered 31 July 2006 MOT expired on 23 January 2019 And Tempra is one of the most reliable and nice cars from early 90's. Our Tempra is made in 1990, just passing 434k kilometers with 1.4 liter petrol and lpg engine. Never had any engine repair, no oil consumption, smooth and nice car with dashboard from Starwars!
This number plate WAS, car has gone and now is to protect the real car and owner identity :). This Tempra is a survivor, reliable or not there's not many of them actually on the roads... Thanks for comment :)
Well, I suspect you just found a damaged model. I own a 1990 1.6 carburetor Tempra, alongside with my 1995 Citroen AX, and despite the smaller engine the performances are very good; it still meet the official acceleration data, it's reliable and stability (especially with new fresh tires) is amazing. I'm just back from a trip from Italy to southern Spain and Portugal, almost 6000km in 20 days with no problems at all and good fuel consumption. Due to an animal on the road I made an elk test at high speed and it behaved better than many modern cars; extremely comfortable seats, just a bit noisy at high revs. I reached more than 180km/h measured by the clock (I get distracted on a empty motorway overnight). And the car has 240.000km on the clock.
Yes, totally agree, but the magic of my test drives is to drive a random car with unknown health. Of course the best as I can, but some times is very difficult to find some model, like the Fiat Tempra. Thanks for comment Matteo, really appreciate it :)
@@testdrivehero Cool, so I hope you will find also a Tempra in good conditions to try it ;) In general, I am a passionate driver very attentive about car's feeling and performances: I can say that Tempra is a good car and gives the feeling of a classic, solid and reliable family car without anything exuberant; its comfort makes it an amazing car for long road trip. I wish you will find also an AX to try: this is the car on which I learnt how to drive and it has a very strong personality. My model isn't very powerful (1.0, 50hp) but it's very funny to drive thanks to its super direct steering and its very light weight. It's like a cat, you can change direction very fast, move well in the traffic and have fun with high speed turns. It seems to roll but at the end it NEVER loses the grip on the road. Passive safety may not be the best but so far is the safest car I ever drove with regarding keeping the road. When I was younger I used to drive fast and the AX saved me a lot of time while other cars may have slipped. Never tried a GT version but I guess it would be an amazing kart. Also with the AX I've done veeery long road trips across Europe and it's very reliable ;)

It's nice to make the necessary repairs on this car. The Tempra is not that slow or unstable.
That's obvious but the car was like that and the owner is who decides, not me unfortunately😅
Nowadays the car is fully restored :)
a nice complete service, coils, spark plug cables, distribution and that engine will run at its best
Probably!

LMAO the weight of the dust from the seats must've affected the performances, thus the acceleration problems 😂
HAHAHAHAHA😂😂👌🏻
I see the gearbox "singing" at low speeds is something probably all Tempras do (for example 6:56). I remember my grandparents were worried about this.
Well you know, it's just weird to see one of those still running on the roads... haha
Thank you!

Air filter, maybe spark plugs, and some other things it need to check for sure😅
Have to check the carburator, to fix the issue with the rpms.. 20euros
