I spent 23 years as a manager in the retail world, and I learned a few things like what Rick is saying.
* Your word MUST be your bond.
* You absolutely MUST treat that customer as you would want to be treated.
* A happy customer will tell 3-4 people about their experience dealing with you,
but an unhappy customer will tell
EVERYONE THEY KNOW.
* Always let your customers know how much you appreciate their business.
* If you make a mistake, be big enough to own up to it and make apologies if necessary.
* Don’t try to rip the customers head off to get that one big sale and leave that customer with a bad feeling.
Give a little and gain their respect and trust and win a customer for life, and possibly their entire family and their friends as well.
Just live and work by the golden rule and you will come out on top on the end.
Having been in construction for 45 years, you learn real quick which customers are as good as their word. Never dealt with the others again.

Rick, first I'm sorry that Kyler had that disappointment from the guy in Philthydelpia. Second, the unnamed dealer in Florida is doing what every single Chevy dealer here in Sacramento County, CA, is doing. The Chevy dealers here in my area are not only unapologetic for the up-pricing of the new C8's, but they're also smug jerks to boot. This is WHY I'll be going directly through YOU once I'm ready to make that purchase. I can't thank you enough for the thoughtful and professional support you've demonstrated with ALL of your customers in the 2 years that I've subscribed to your vlog. You provide faith to us, who aren't quite ready to make such a purchase, that your process will be handled properly and with dignity. Best wishes to you and Chuck.
Everything you talked about is why YOU are the one I bought my Corvette from. YOU and Chuck helped me with questions I had on my father's '16 Z51. I said you would get my business when I was able to buy one. YOU made the deal happen on a Saturday, and I flew up the next Friday to get my first Corvette. Old Jerry McGuire handshake is as strong as Oak type of guy. What a POS. No different than those Chevy dealers $25K over MSRP. GM take note and strip these dealers of Allocations and give them to Rick Covrvette Conti at Coughlin. A stand up guy! My local dealer that I bought 4 cars from call me the other day and tried to sell the C8 for 27000 over sticker price I told him I'd pass and I would buy my car from somebody else
If you can wait a year they will be $5-10k under Sticker or $20k off a used one.
@@RustyZipper idk the 2020 could be collectible because it’s the first year, first mid engine, limited due to COVID19
@@RustyZipper maybe the 21's or 22's down the road (2-3 years from now), but not the 20's because being the first year of the mid-engine, the strike, COVID, and the very low production (most likely under 20k will be built).

Yep, I went to the same local dealer where I bought my C6, and they want $10K over MSRP for a 2020. Nope, I can do better elsewhere.

Your word is your bond and making a deal with a handshake is a wonderful thing, I am sorry some people let us down but I am proud to say even though I had a 13 month wait my Local dealer, Classic Chevy, Lawton Oklahoma stood by the deal we wrote last July and a deal is a deal. Sorry Rick if I don’t come and see you for a 2022 Grand Sport C8 but I have a Great Dealerships allot closer to home! Thanks for keeping the Dream Alive!

I've looked at a lot of your VLOGS and felt like you were honest and kept it pretty real on your show. The question about the trans' shifting hard at first, then gets better after a little while, is caused by the trans not being warmed up. You should start the vehicle and allow it to warm up a little before taking off. I know most people just jump in and go, but the best thing for your vehicle is to allow it to get up around operating temperature before driving it. I'm not sure what the manufacturer states the operation temps for the C8 is, but I know it has to be over 150 degrees, prob' more like 180 degrees. So if your car isn't up to the proper temps' it isn't going to operate properly until it is.

What you need to do is call him at least 3x a day for updates. Then call your concierge to fact check Rick. Then call the NCM for their input. Then call Mary Barra. That way it arrives faster according to everyone that ordered a C8 during a global pandemic expecting it to arrive within 30 days
Rusty Zipper is that what I did wrong? I did text Rick more than I needed to. If he couldn’t get right back to me, I understood that he’s a one man show and very busy.

Great show Rick...hey I've owned 30 plus corvettes, most recently 3 C7's and my C8 is built. Responding to your referral and future business comment. I own a construction company and do all my business with my local Bend Or Chevrolet store and sales guy. My family and I have bought dozens of trucks, cars and do service with these great folks. As a side note, I was in the car business for 15 years and ran a store before doing my own thing. Anyway, loyalalty between both customer and dealer is getting rare and that's too bad. My car will be here in a couple weeks and at below MSRP, and number one on the Z06 list. Good to be loyal👍

Rick your rant is warranted. I share you pain. I just had a bad experience buying an EcoSport for my daughter. I wish you sold Fords. You the man! honesty is becoming rare.

Rick your are 1000% right about shady dealers treating buyers like crap. I've bought many cars but only one corvette c7. My dealer to this day still owes me reimbursement for my first tank of gas. I've contacted them twice and now gave up. Who do you really think has lost out now. Never would do business with them on any car ever. I've told hundreds of people and what do they say, what dealer is that again lol.
You're correct Rick. A man's word is everything! And I know it sucks to get caught in the middle of something like that but you had no control over it, so don't let it make you feel bad. I know that's easier said than done sometimes.

The big recall is the fronk flying open above about 55 mph.

Feel bad for your customer. I have a ?, Rick. I have seen c8 with suede upper center console where the mode selector is located. How is that ordered? Do you need a 3lt model? Must you order your seat insets in suede or the steering wheel in suede or both? Love to know as the order guide does not say that I can see. Thx

TECH QUESTION
My 2009 C6 Z51 automatic transmission: the PRNDL shifter is getting stuck in Park.
Can’t push shifter button in or move the shifter. I think it is the Parking Pawl causing the problem.
Mileage is at 7,077
Yes, very low miles on car
Car has been to the dealership twice. Visit 1 - supposedly fixed
Visit 2 (a month later) Mechanic said he could not replicate the problem
Any idea as to a fix?

I found a “HACK”:
Driver puts the car into the “Accessory Mode” by pressing the Start/Ignition Button.
After doing so, the Pawl releases and I can start the car and move the Shifter
Anyone having this problem and/or suggested fixes?
Selling/trading the car is not an option.

I was planning to buy a new C7 then the C8 was announced so I waited and was extremely disappointed that it is auto trans only.
Decided to buy a new Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0. No regrets. I just wonder how many customers have turned away because of no manual?
Changing the price of that wing after making a commitment... That just plain sucks. I spent my working career in customet service support and aftermarket sales and service. My word to a customer was my word in stone. Whatever it took to make my word to the customer come true, I did. I have always had long term happy return customers my entire career.
It's those things that have made me walk out of dealerships and never go back! As long as Rick is doing business, THAT is where I will go to by my Vettes!!
Rick. There is TSB for the A8 hard shift, shudder etc. Had it done on my 17 and shifts are now way better. Flush and the new mobil 1 synthetic fluid used per the latest August 2019 update. Check out the article from GM Authority. The change was recommended on all A8 equipped cars even if they were sitting on the lot new. Up to 2019 MY.

I got a question on AC6 Corvette does different Do door chain sounds 2 to be exact
When I changed out my engine cover I could not get that grommet to come out, so I had my local Chevy dealer order a new one. It took him about 5 phone calls to get the part number. The grommet only was about $7 and included shipping. It took 5 days to arrive.

Steven Mistretta I looked at my paper work file but did not find it. It was so inexpensive I probably thru it away. You can call my dealership. At Bunnin Santa Paula Chevrolet at 805-525-2127, ask for parts department. I think the guy that chased it down for me was Brian. He Will be able to look it up under my name and it was ordered on 5-6-202. Good luck Steven.

I cant stand when some one do that. when i order my C8 zo6 I dont want to be high balled when the come out. and I understand the car is hot but its not like the car will not be made continuously over the next few years, this Covid 19 has cause some drama true enough but, don't upping the price like that... ridiculous !!!! Ground effects for the C8 can be purchased from shopchevyparts.com these are GM factory parts. They are only 3600 only a few left. 5VM option

I'm picking up my c8 from the museum in a couple of weeks, No high wing available even though I ordered it in November. I hope GM offers a discount for the wings when they do become available.

One of the biggest problems GM has now it getting the LPO's items for the C8 Corvette orders to the dealerships on time......in stead of 2 or 3 or 4 weeks later....Good new the Update for the front trunk recall is coming out tonight.....
I've seen it in many of your vlog's, so I have to ask if the owl overwatching your inventory has a name. In all your vlog's I've watched I have never heard you say anything about the dealerships owl WHO sits proudly on top of the building.
