I feel like this comment section is filled with misinformation. It's not "weird" or a "trend" that so many women are coming forth with it. 20% of women have PCOS but the fact that awareness is growing is leading more women to actually go get tested. And as far as getting pregnant, 70% of women with PCOS end up having totally easy pregnancies from conception to birth.
Remi I can’t express how thankful I am that you posted this. I was also diagnosed with PCOS my junior year of high school and have been struggling ever since. Sending love and support to you. ♥️
Your doctors when you were young were honestly bad doctors. Having a period once a year should have been very alarming to them. My doctors have said anything longer than 3 months is cause for concern. They should have highly recommended birth control or further looked into the cause. Like an eating disorder, pcos, or endo.
I lost my period all together because I'm underweight. I'm very concerned that I may not be able to have kids because of this. :( (I have an eating disorder)
I had a similar experience had my period like a couple times a year from the very beginning I had a doctor accuse me of being pregnant at 15 instead of looking into my symptoms
Yes queen!! i was diagnosed when i was 15. i love you for talking about it. this can help so many young women. i love you for using your platform to talk about this.
I’m glad you made a video about this. It’s a lot more common than we think. I have hypothyroidism and possible pcos. My last pcp told me one of my ovaries may not be functioning and it will make it harder for me to get pregnant. However that doctor didn’t do bloodwork or order sonograms for me after I asked how to deal with this. I’ve been looking for a better doctor at the moment, someone with better availability and all that.
This really random that you and Sierra Schultziee (idk how to spell her last name) are both diagnosed with PCOS, obviously under different circumstances but I'm glad more RUclipsrs are opening up about it.
There is a lot to learn about PCOS! The way our body breaks down carbs and sugar is different than others. PCOS comes with insulin resistance. There are PCOS groups and so many things to follow to gain knowledge and support.~ PCOS Cysters
I have PCOS and I do not have insulin resistance. Only about 30-40% of people with pcos actually has insulin resistance I believe it’s different for every single person, you need to be careful how you word things as it may be triggering for those with pcos or still learning about it 🤗
I've been suffering pcos since I was 13 honestly if you have any questions from someone who has years of experience having it personally I'll always be willing to help that best I can!! Love you girl love watching you grow into the person you are today and thank you for inspiring me to love myself and to get healthier!! ❤
I have PCOS, I’ve had it for 15 years & 8 years ago I was blessed with two little boys born exactly 11 months apart. They are my little miracle babies. 💙
I was just diagnosed with PCOS yesterday and I came back to this video because this is what sparked my journey into figuring out what was going on with my body. This video definitely helped me and you updating us in your vlogs about your experience with pcos is so comforting because it makes me feel normal. Thank you so much
i was diagnosed with PCOS at 16 and i knew nobody that had it and now i'm 21 and i love that more people are talking about it because it makes me feel more normal for having it.
Yes I am diagnosed with PCOS too. Always struggled with my period since I was young. Reading this comments, can't believe how many people are diagnosed with PCOS too.
Woaaah! I just have to say, I’ve watched my sister struggle with PCOS her whole life...It’s amazing to have watched you accomplish what you did, knowing now that you also have PCOS. It is an extremely hard disorder to manage, and you’ve slayed!! Congratulations!! Knowing now will only make things easier! 🥰🤩❤️
la fana de cheval yes , i started my period at the age of 11 . i would have a period for twenty days be off of it for about 4-9 days and then begin again . my periods were EXTREME ( a pad an hour , two tampons an hour ) for the first three days . i also constantly had extreme cramping and pain . that was the cysts .
Also girl I’m sorry your info got messed up that’s so frustrating especially when you could have these symptoms explained , but you are so calm and positive about which is inspiring 💙
I haven’t been diagnosed but i know i have it. I’m getting tested for it this year and I’m just bracing myself. But I’m glad this is bringing awareness !
I watched this video and related so hard to it that I made a doctor appointment and boommm I was diagnosed with PCOS myself. Thank Remi for this 😭 had you not posted this I wouldn’t have gone to the doctor.
There’s actually ALOT lol. Most family vloggers who share about their struggles with infertility have PCOS and/or endometriosis. It’s really eye opening how common it is!
I got diagnosed with PCOS at 16. It's still hard for me though. I am questioning my ability to have children even though the doctor said I can have. So I understand what you are going through. If you want to compare notes, feel free to talk to me ❤
Nimrah Haroon nooo you are still a woman 100% Every woman has a very small percentage of testosterone it’s just with PCOS if you have it, you have a higher percentage of testosterone.
I was diagnosed at 12/13 after my first period. It’s interesting that it took the doctors so long to diagnose you. Even though it’s a different reaction/process for everyone, I find that birth control (pill) does a pretty good job of lightening your period and overall making the management better.
Thank you so much for putting out these videos. I have PCOS and got on Nexplanon and have had problems ever since. I’m going to my doctor to get it taken out after 8 months of dealing with problems trying to force it to regulate.
it sucks because doctors don’t know much about pcos, I had to do research myself to diagnose myself. Did you get an ultrasound? this is how they finally diagnosed me because they saw cysts on my ovaries. I’ve also known people to get diagnosed with pcos and that’s not what it was, definitely get an ultrasound on your ovaries! thank you for talking about this! it needs to be talked about more
I really feel so bad about you that you got to know about it so late but remi it’s alright you’re still young and you still can do it! I am 16 I have pcos too and we will fight it ❤️
Hi fellow PCOS lady here. I’ve gone through the brith control options and the only one that helps me mentally and my lifestyle is the nuva ring. Finally feel like a real person again with my hormones.
I have pcos. I am 35 years old. The doctors told me I wouldn't be able to have children if I didn't by the age of 21. I had my first baby when I was 22 second when I was 28. Doctors don't know much about pcos I'm so glad people have been speaking about it.
I’m so happy that you shared your story over hearing other people’s story’s about these kinds of these I love you and take care hopefully you can find the best birth control for you💜💜
Thanks for sharing. I have PCOS and was never able to conceive. Then I had a hysterectomy and that was a hard pill to swallow. But my husband and I are good now. It was hard at first to except the diagnose but after a lot of praying I had peace. I hope when the time comes you will be blessed with a gift from God. Love ya😊
Hey Remi, thanks for sharing your experience. I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago & it was really rough emotionally. My doctor made me terrified of being infertile and I really struggled to feel feminine & it was a really lonely experience. I hope this isn't the case for you, it seems like your taking it well & have a great doctor but just wanted to let you know you're not alone :)
Yes the birth control helps balance hormones and metformin will help with insulin resistance if you have that too. Not everyone with PCOS has insulin resistance.
I’m getting tested hopefully next week. Been having extremely irregular periods for 5 years now and I’m 18.. longest I’ve gone without getting my period was 4 months. This video and these comments were exactly what I needed!
Hey Remi! I’ve been diagnosed with Pcos a few months ago and you should really look into seeing a Naturopath to take a look at your hormones and work to balance them that way. Not just through birth control. (I know you probably already know that.) love you girly and thank you for sharing this ❤️

this is so unrelated, but blue really is your color remi!!!
Nikki Parikh agreed!
agree!
It’s so good that people are finally talking about PCOS and endometriosis
Yes!! This deserves more views!
Yessss amen!!!

Are there any treatments besides birth control?
I was diagnosed with pcos at the age of 15 & I am now 20 with a 1 1/2 month old baby boy 💙 So anything can happen !
aww congrats :D
aww congratulations!!
Glenda Monterroza I’m so happy for you!! Congrats

Lissette Ramirez heyy i have a question!
How did you know you had hypothyroidism? And did you have a goiter??
i have hypo. are they usually correlated?
I have pcos and hypothyroidism also (hashimotos) all because doctors failed to diagnose me for years
This really random that you and Sierra Schultziee (idk how to spell her last name) are both diagnosed with PCOS, obviously under different circumstances but I'm glad more RUclipsrs are opening up about it.
it is unfortunately very very common and more people have it then we will ever know.
Another youtuber, leighannsays has it as well.
To be honest, it seems like literally EVERYONE has PCOS nowadays. Literally everyone is being diagnosed with it. Seems weird
gabi from nikiandgabi too
I think Sarah’s day has it too. So does Kendall Rae. Lots of women do

This video was such a sign for me to go back to the doctors and stop being afraid.
Needed this Rem!
Thank you for being so brave and open!♥️
i was diagnosed at age 12 after starting my period at 11 .. then at age 14 i was also diagnosed with endo . being a female has been hell for me .
Hey it's pretty uncommon to be diagnosed at such a young age, did you have any symptoms ?
I got diagnosed with endo at age 12 so I get you!!

Remi you should do a podcast episode talking about what you’re doing to help combat or temper your PCOS symptoms!
I also have PCOS and I will be checking for endo as well. but I really hope you don't completely overwork yourself and PLEASE remember to still eat
Sierra Schultzzie is another RUclipsr who has been dealing with this. You two should collab!
so proud of u remi
Yes, I’m glad you got checked up! I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS since I was 19. I’m 25 now. There’s no cure unfortunately but just managing symptoms
I’ve been diagnosed since June I had blood work and an ultrasound done. You got this Cyster!
I was also diagnosed with pcos last year and i started taking the pill to control my acne and its been great so far
I was diagnosed with pcos when I was 15 , I’m 20 now and my ovaries are all good

Nimrah Haroon no you aren’t a man. Still a woman.

extremely weird how everyone’s getting diagnosed w pcos now. i got diagnosed like a month ago
I wouldn't be surprised if it's a side effect to that cervical cancer shot that was being heavily pushed when we were all around 12.
@@marleymescudi i got that shot about a year ago...
@@marleymescudi it can't be because it's genetic.
@@pupublahblah No. Doctors believe it can partly be caused by genetics but there is not one single PCOS gene.
