God, I miss when you could customize worlds, or at the very least, build your own town/style without every inch of it packed with pre-determined scenery. Sims 4 straight up took us back to Sims 1.
It is incredible how TS3 is still valid, it will have its flaws, like any game but in terms of customization it is at the top. Hopefully EA reconsiders and releases a x64 version of the game for Windows users
@@IronSeagull The improvement is not so visible but there it is. 32-bit processes are limited to using a maximum of 4GB of RAM. However x64 processes can use much more RAM and a game like Sims 3 where you have hundreds of objects is quite beneficial. It is said that the next generation of RAM memory (DDR5) the smallest module will bring 16GB, so it will surely be the base floor for all PCs and notebooks within 2 or 3 years. However I do not know how many changes EA would have made in the source code to take advantage of this change from 32 to 64 bits but with which it is compatible I would already be grateful.
Alpine County looks very well-made, but it is not my cup of tea. I am not into modern American-style architecture, because I always see them near me. I want something different. Plus, my computer can't play Alpine County anyway, because the graphics card can't handle all the expansion packs in one go. My game will just lag, and the performance is just unbearable. So, I try to play with the bare minimum. Currently, I have Generations, Ambitions, Seasons, Ambitions and World Adventures expansion packs installed, and the game is running okay at this point. As far as I know, I think I just have Gyeongbok Palace (custom world) installed. It is available at the creator's own blog and The Sims 3 official website. The best part is, it doesn't require too many EPs. Just World Adventures, I think. If anybody knows a custom world that uses as little EPs as possible, then I will consider it. The nice thing about EA Store worlds is that they come in a nice, complete package. That is, they are all base game-compatible. They may cost $20 apiece (standard edition), but that's actually much cheaper than upgrading my graphics card, which may cost hundreds of dollars. If I want a city, then I'll just play with Bridgeport.
I reinstalled my Sims 3 and I've had constant issues with the launcher. In particular with CC worlds and the last update they did for the launcher to be based in Origin 😩😭 I love Alpine County but the lighting and water never looks like they for me
To anyone wishing to play this game again in 2023 and being seduced by this world: - Don't. Just don't. Amazing and beautiful but it is LAGGY as hell and you should expect constant crashes. First it's because of the use of ALL DLC content, which the game actually can't handle properly. Second: overall size. Again: Sims 3 is NOT optimized, at all, so it wont be a problem of specs and nasa PCs but the game itself. Shame really, it's a damn amazing world. So: Wanna play on Alpine County? Expect those issues, absolutely, and use a matrioshka world computer.

Yup.
This is my fav world from the sims 3!
I didn’t get around to playing it much since it released after Sims 4 came out. Glad I got to explore it more!

I’ve heard the 64-bit version for Mac didn’t make any difference
