80s 90s ep would fit so well into the sims 4 , it would be like playing sims 2 or sims 3 if they do it well. MALLS , ARCADES. paperboy, lifeguard , babysitting and comic stores that's all what a life simulation should be about . being able to relive the 80s in a video game would be fun .
It'll definitely be a whole ride for legacy players

@@IronSeagull yes exactly it would be so reminiscent of the old days. Not to mention how unlike all other pack ideas this one is way more simpler and easier to achieve more likely to be made. Malls will be the main feature arcades new venue. 2 new active jobs. Lifeguard and babysitting. New skills rollerblading, arcade skill etc... Much more activities and new interactions between sims. Family game baords.... So many stuff, it would be nice if they would give us 2 worlds as well a 80s looking world and a 90s looking world
One of my favorite things to do is wipe all the pre-made lots and replace them with gallery builds. Maybe that's what they mean with the create a world option? An actual create a world tool would be amazing though.
I picked the van one too. I think the van would probably teleport to maybe a RV park type area and then your Sim could walk around, speak with locals, etc. Probably 3 neighborhoods like that. Maybe another vacation pack? Just the idea of cars though was so attractive! I picked the dystopian one too just for something different but probably would have picked the 80's one instead if we got the longer description first
I always wanted sims medieval integrated into base game. I mean we have a dang castle kit. I want a deeper system for it. (Also spiral staircases!)
I want elder gameplay, but I'd rather them focus more on the travel van life than retirement if they do the travel van pack. Maybe Elders could get added to in the base game of the update before the pack, or another pack entirely. The mechanic career should also be its own thing, but the skill that comes too, would help with van lifestyle.
I really wish we could give our feedback on all of the themes instead of just two of them

I put the coastal fossils finding as my most wanted, cuz I'm a nerd 🤓
It talked about kids joining to discover fossils with adults, and honestly it's the only one that sounds like an expansion and not a whole new spinoff, unlike the rest of them 😂😂😂
I did this survey already. I hope the Sims team implements some of these ideas listed.
For people who haven't done the survey yet, I recommend doing it on the computer, because I couldn't scroll to see the answer alternatives for the theme suggestions on my phone. I thinh it also checks your IP adress to check who took it, because I tried to do it on my computer instead and then boyfriends phone, but it said I had already taken the survey. It worked when turning off wifi and usung mobile data instead.
My top choice is the 80’s / 90’s mall pack. I’m also a 90’s kid and love everything about it. I think they can do without time travel - they could just have a world stuck in past trends like some small towns in the USA. I also put in a suggestion to add Father Winter in the mall around Winterfest.
My other top choice was the underwater one. This should have been in Island Living, but will give us another chance at Underwater exploration and boats.
Sleep Away Camp and Adventure / Fossil packs were my next choice.
But overall I liked them all, except for the post-apocalypse and royalty packs. I just don’t see how they would add to the setting of the Sims and the only ones I ranked not interested. They both do sound like spin-offs like Medieval or Cast Away.
9 Ideas for Expansion Packs? Assuming they will do them all and release at least 2 per year, then we will have Sims 4 until almost 2029

apocalyptic should be merged with criminal, because one enhances the other.
The modern monarchy pack would bring so much drama and depth to back stories to gameplay. Also, the BB assets to furnish castles and estates would be amazing!!
I hope the monarchy pack would not be limited to that town. We can have multiple monarchies in the different towns. Like if you have a monarch in Sulani and they are feuding with the monarch in Oasis Springs.

I like the idea of them using this list for pack refreshes. I also like them finding ways to reuse animations but keep things fresh. Like how you mentioned that we already have rollerblading. But they could free it from the rink like they kinda freed the babies. I would love to see that concept mentioned as an island living refresh.
pack refreshes just wont happen , pack refreshes are literally minimizing profits all they do is maximize profits
@@trek.s I don't agree. They are trying to get us to not buy packs on sale so they give us "bonus content" to buy the new pack at full price. A refresh is the same thing. If they add a little "bonus content" to an old pack, the current owners will be happy. People that have been "waiting for a sale" will think the refreshed pack is a good deal. (Even if the pack is full price because it is new and fresh.) New simmers who haven't thought about buying a really old dusty pack because the new packs genuinely look better will then go back and purchase the "new and improved" non dusty pack and be happy. EA still gets the sales. Everyone is happy.

I hope in the criminal pack it would also have police giving out fines for some misbehaviors or going to prison (rabbit hole) In prison the sim can be there for 6hours to 3 sim days depending on the crime. Another sim in the family can call a lawyer and is a chance if the lawyer gets your sim out may have to pay small fine or a large fine. Or the lawyer failed the and sim stays in jail until that sim's time is up. I am currently playing a sim who is in the law career and she is a judge.
I wonder if they would have any kind of cross over with the get to work careers. I'm currently playing in the detective career and early in that career, you have to walk around and hand out fines.

I took that the survey I choose road trip & royalty ep ideas. I liked all of the other ideas. Except the dystopian pack ideas.
Although I only I want the 80/90s pack for the fashion & the addition of comics to read
I want a Sims Medieval 2 So badly but I don't want it sims 4 style, I literally want the crisper sims 3 style but with a 3D map and actuall day-to-day life robust gameplay for the sandbox mode haha
If EA gives us an apocalypse challenge friendly pack I’d be SO happy.that and the cyberpunk. HOWEVER… I still wouldn’t blindly purchase. Haven’t purchased anything after for rent, not even the kits. They HAVE to fix things and start releasing well developed content before I go back to purchasing.
I'm surprised none of these pack ideas involve occults. Even though fans have been wanting fairies for a long time now
I wish I could see all of these, but in all reality, this will probably outline 3-5 eps (or game packs?) sometime in the future. The Summer Sleepaway Camp, Museum/Adventure Camp, and the underwater exploration packs have similar themes to each other. I imagine we’ll see some combination of two or more of this group. Retirement Camper Van sounds unique enough to stand on its own. Same with 80s/90s mall (I see this one getting a lot of community love). Modern Monarchy sounds like they’d revamp the fame system. Sounds mostly unique from the rest of them with some similar themes to the city packs mentioned. (I kinda think this would be cool for a new spin on legacy/generational gameplay). The Future City with robots and tech v nature, Gritty City with crime v justice (active criminal career? Vigilantes?), and post apocalyptic city with sim v nature; I see us getting only one or two of these. I really like the idea of all three.
Of all 9, I think some iteration of #4, the Adventure Camp one in Oceania Shores (Australia themed world?) is more likely to be the first. It’s got capitalized elements to the description which is usually how sims writers refer to in game systems. And it’s the only one that references a world name already in the works. This survey could be disguised to see how much we want that specific pack before they get too far into constructing it. It has some of the elements asked about in the survey: expands upon existing gameplay (museums), explores new cultures potentially, sounds multi-generational (teen/adult/elder primary focus with secondary focus on kids-teaching, which is pretty cool). This would be really neat combined with the underwater world outlined. Could have something like the Great Barrier Reef; scuba diving and surfing are popular hobbies on the shores of Australia. And speaking of Australia, survival pack or camper van pack might work for that world setting too.
The issue I have with these is I agree most (not all) could be Expansion Pack refreshes and I have also been teased with "bustling" and "drama" before and we really got neither... 4-6 sims spawning doesn't make a city feel lively or bustling and the only drama in game is from the bugs! Would I love to see both of these in game actually implemented? Yep, but do I have high hopes... nope. I did pick the mall more for the nostalgia type items that would come with it hoping they wouldn't leave family gameplay and kids completely out of it. As a kid I was dragged to the mall many times and thankfully our mall had ducks that would keep me entertained and snacks lol (food court!) and one I think did have an arcade and of course we'd see Santa and the Easter Bunny and as I got older I'd hang with friends, see movies and even some bands at the mall! I also feel like it would have to give us multi-functional lots because if that doesn't come with either hotels/resorts or a mall I think I may finally just give up all together! I also picked the royal one because it is different, and it would be cool to maybe get me to play more verse build and explore generational gameplay and again build/buy I think would be pretty nice. The dystopian one has me intrigued, but I would much rather have like hurricanes, power outages, accidents, bigger earthquakes that cause some sort of damage to the game than probably zombies, but I feel like the build/buy could be kind of cool! And I am never against seeing another coastal type world with buildable waterfront lots but the concept here doesn't feel that fleshed out like just so our sims can dive? It would probably have like an explore ocean like explore jungle option. I'd want at least interactive boats and maybe a floating bar since we always get bars in every world and maybe if the world had some Jaws-like vibes and lore it could be cool. And omg to some sort of build of world implementation! Yes please! I think that and multi-functional lots are my two biggies followed by resorts and we do need bands.
Underwater world, apocalyptic and criminals with a jail system, modern monarchy for drama and the camp one but I feel this needs to be in the outdoor retreat refresh. A lot of these ideas aren't new and we already have them like the apocalyptic one was kinda like the eco lifestyle but not really done well. Island living should have already come with an underwater worle and marine life plus the career. Get to work should have already had the criminals and get together is a watered down modern monarchy. Another idea of mine is cruisingships and houseboats with a cast away gamepack 😍
The royalty pack would only fit my Disney Princess Challenge and that's it. I don't see much point in a royalty pack besides something like that or where there's a save file involving royalty. The 6th idea sounds interesting I'm just worried about execution of it.
I haven't voted, because usually new surveys are highlighted on the Main Menu, and I have yet to see it there. So yeah unless the sims team tweets about it I won't vote. I am interested in EP1 but as an island living refresh. If the Sims 4 is going to continue for as long as it intends to, they better update older packs for me. I did vote in the sims community's poll though, and was surprised to see EP9 so high up.
The post apocalyptic or cyberpunk worlds wouldn't work in the Sims 4. Nancy Landgraab jogging past every damn day would ruin the vibe.
The sims team needs to stop making me pay for everything for sims 4 to be just BARELY better. If the basegame is half done or lackluster why would the dlc be any better? 😒

@@IronSeagull idk just the way they're written seems chatgpt-y to me, also the fact that a lot sound more like refreshes like you mentioned rather than new ideas. the royal one especially sounded not very ai to me at least! chat.gpt can be kinda good at this stuff now, i've used it to help with create stories for random families that i make in the sims.
