After a crazy day fixing up Rocket, we're back on the road again! Today we're entering the city of Chumphon, an overlooked city in Thailand that's full of interesting sights and unspoiled natural beauty. We spent 2 days here exploring the mangrove forest, white sand beaches, tried delicious and cheap local food and found one of the most beautiful parks in Thailand. Get to know Chumphon with us!

I visited this area a few years back! I got the train from Bangkok to Surat Thani, bus to Chumpon and then a ferry over to Koh Tao. I loved it, spent a month in the island. We dived over at chumpon Pinnacles, saw the fabled and beautiful whale shark and also the huge emperor wrasse that you pictured. Amazing times, I long to go back one day 😍

First, very glad Rocket did behave. Good Rocket. Seeing Southern Thailand is always a good reminder of the "skinny place" of Thailand. It is a different Thailand in some ways, certainly the food is different as well as the fauna. Asa a westerner when I go to Thailand it is sort of routine to go from Bangkok and then north or east with Phuket being the biggest turn south and never making the extra miles down the skinny part. This is a really good reminder not to skip these areas because they offer beauty and their own special experiences to the joy of Thailand. Love you guys and thanks as always from bringing some joy into my house!

Great that Rocket is doing good and brought you guys to Chumphon. Haha...that was how l ate sugarcane during my childhood years. Tell you what? I even tore off the sugarcane skin with my teeth 😃😄. Yeah, both that sugarcane uncle and aunty are right, you guys are handsome and beautiful. Flora, you look even more beautiful when you smile....so sweet !!

The earlier issues with the axel could be because of the upgrade larger tires which can affect the gear ratio of a vehicle. Quite common when upgrading to bigger wheels forgot about the gear ratio upgrade unless the wheels are within the acceptable specs mode. Happened to my brother 4x4 Toyota Surf upgrade with bigger tyre the axel broken during a muddy situation using full throttle. When you install larger tires, it effectively changes the final drive ratio of the vehicle, which can lead to lower engine RPMs at a given speed. This can affect the vehicle's acceleration, fuel economy, and overall performance. The biggest issue long run is the increased strain on the drivetrain. Solution is re-gear ie these gear sets can be changed out by professionals for either different aftermarket or original equipment gear sets. Modifying the final gear ratio will correct the drivetrain deficiencies caused by larger tires. Safe and happy travel guys..

Since you are heading north maybe check out อิน ดิ ออง ( In De On - Khao Kho, Phetchabun, Thailand) the views will astonish you. You can also camp there (they supply the tent) with amazing views. 1000 thb/night

I got the train from Hua Hin to Chumpon - I didn’t spend much time there but I really liked it - it’s certainly got a lot to see outside the town area 😃of which I didn’t see enough 😞 but I did spend 4 hours at Cabana Beach , it was beautiful and quiet and a great local secret 👌 - you presented it all so well as usual - Thanks for sharing and look forward to more soon 😃👋👍🙏

How funny, we are driving down from Bangkok to Krabi next month and have booked to stay in the same place! I wondered if was when I saw the description. Prior to that we will be just south of Hua Hin for the Sam Roi Yat national park. Over 20 years visiting Thailand and it will be the first time we've driven down from Bangkok rather than fly. Looking forward to it.
