Question. Is replacement of water main covered under home insurance?

Typically not however, it is always best to check with you carrier. Your policy may have additional coverage just for your water main or sewer that you purchased and may not even remember. In other cases the carrier may cover the section of broken pipe in the house only and the property owner is responsible for all piping from the street, to the house. There are many other variables but for the most part, HOS does not cover these types of things in our experience!

@@omararenas622 It really depends on the details associated with the repair. If the pipe is lead the entire line has to be replaced. It is also dependent on the location, a 100’ replacement will cost more than a 20’
