Nike designed these shoes with a price division in mind instead of pushing the performance as high as possible, otherwise their models would be competing with each other. I didn't get the Book 1s because they made the inside of the sole softer than outside resulting knees knocking on any landing with any move on the court
Ya I see how that’s an internal issue for sure but at the same time poor feedback on a shoe alters the entire brand perception for a lot of buyers. Double edged sword that isn’t always working in their favor. For example these are still competing with Sabrina’s line unless you’re truly looking for a more casual look
Love these vids. Can't stop watching them, im running through the whole library, multiple times even for some to compare. Makes me that much more interested in all the new releases too. Keep em comin 👍
So glad to hear it- I love making these. The views aren’t up to my standards comparing them to my reviews but the people who watch seem to really like them so I’m going to keep trying to improve this format and tinker to see if I can’t get this series to take off like my other stuff - I appreciate the comment
@@FootDoctorZach for sure. i love the reviews, im always looking forward to those. thats what hooked me, but any more information and knowledge is very interesting to me and appreciated
I'm loving this video series. Nike needs to tighten the margins on the first shoes of each of these guys. There have been quite a few on Nike and Jordan brand the last few years and they are really variable (Ja, Tatum, Luka, Zion, Booker). Honestly I think they've done more with the WNBA shoes like the Delle Donne and Sabrina's.
As someone who has hooped in the mirage 1s about twice a week since they came out in February, I feel like they're perfect. I did buy EP as I hoop outdoors, but the grip is so good, and I personally haven't had a problem with slippage or cushion.
I agree with all of the comments. these shoes are great, but really lack shock absorber at the front... I injured my shin for the first time in my life with these shoes and now I'm having trouble recovering.. I don't don't understand why Nike didn't put anything at the front of the shoe to absorb jumps I replaced them with the New Balance BB v2 while I recovered, less style but what happiness for my shins, I'm crossing my fingers for a quick recovery
Had to pass too narrow, JA1 a little better fit but also too tight across top bridge of toes where the laces start. Nike has gotta cut the shoes wider. That is what laces is for-to make shoes tighter on feet if lose. I don't get it. Same issues with Lebrons... too narrow.
Hey doc! Noticed there is no forefoot height in your videos and hoops sheet. Is heel-ball drop similar with it? If not can you include something that will help us with knowing the courtfeel of shoes? Thanks doc!
I really like your doctor analysis of review but I'm curious on your term flange/flauge, please correct me if I'm wrong but neither of the two does not corresponds to the meaning of stabilizing shoe, which I believe you are pertaining to. Why not use the term "outrigger" as this means a mechanism for stabilizing in small boats and which was adapted to performance sneakers? I hope you can enlighten me on this and provide the correct spelling for the flange/flange you are referring to for stabilization
Would it have helped for containment if they had used the outsole as a forefoot lateral container? Basically if I wrapped up just a little bit to keep your foot in the footbed in the forefoot

Eversince I watched your videos, you're my only go to shoe review. You've set the standard high. Great job doc
I appreciate you

Sabrinas are awesome- can't wait for the 2

I love Zach's videos
Glad we could help keep you from those chores 🤣
lol - ironically I had to clean out the entire laundry room that night
Amazing videos as always, would like to see a review of the Anta Zap 1 (DiVincenzo’s current shoe) soon. Thanks!
Speaking of SBs, i hope you can review the Ishod 2. It looks more like a basketball shoe than a skateboard shoe.
1:53 Also Zach's wife watching this ☠️💀
Lol I think she's watched maybe 4 of my videos and thats only when I need her to double check for accuracy in the more medical focused ones
@@FootDoctorZach Wow.... Now I trust u more, thanks for being the best shoe reviewer, we all owe u one.
These upgrade videos are amazing
Never in my life would I have thought I would see a John Hill brallie shoe in a Foot Doctor Zach video
Dude he’s for sure in my top 3 in terms of favorite channels
I like that he has been making all these shoes better
100% on the lateral instability. I experienced repeated rollover during play & had to return.
Fantastic ideas and commentary!
I appreciate you
The simple fix for the lockdown issue for me personally was changing the laces to flat laces like the ones you find on the converse chuck taylors
Nike Ja 2 next please

any plans on reviewing the big3 5.0 quick pro?
Maybe he should do adidas ultraboost lite
Hi Zach! would you recommend using gameday insoles for the Book 1? would greatly appreciate your response!
bro u got great points😢 nike really should get more performance on thiis book1

any chance you'd do the new nike hyperace 3? know it's not a bball shoe, but it'd be cool to see you cover a volleyball shoe
Maybe at some point
Wondered if he would make this vid

It’s just heel height minus the drop

Flange is the technical term I’ve always been taught and seen- but it really doesn’t matter it’s all just semantics anyway
Foot Doc can you please do Badfive 3
Nike should hire you doc! 😅
The d book PEs have the flange and it does suck that’s the general release shoes don’t
Have you seen or heard of the EQLZ 247 basketball sneaker designed by Aaron Cooper?
Yeah and I couldn’t get one on release - I think the all black is next up so we’ll see if I can get a pair
Would it have helped for containment if they had used the outsole as a forefoot lateral container? Basically if I wrapped up just a little bit to keep your foot in the footbed in the forefoot
Only if you would sit lower too
Good video bro
I dont wonder why book went back to kobe4 recently
So cool
Thanks.
Do you have a basketball shoe guide on recommendations for Osgood Schlatters?
ruclips.net/video/EwpMWqTD_Ok/видео.html
Isn’t the zoom the surprise though?
Is it really a surprise anymore?
fantastic
Stewie 3 pls
Dude the saga it’s been to just get a pair….
Book need to switch to Rebook for lulz
Fr tho book 1 release feels like disaster bro probably dissapointed with Nike
Dont judge a shoe by its upper😮
Boom
shoe run small 11 feel like a 10
So I liked this shoe and was honestly a skeptic. It's a simple shoe which prioritizes fashion over function but the shoe is still able to perform.
Thats the best description i've heard yet of them
Foxing…is that a real word?
💯🔥
Bruh tore open book 1 chapter 1 orange 1 of 500 gg
I got one when they were only a bit above retail- went back and looked and now they’re going for big money
@@FootDoctorZach thats unlucky but great review.
@@FootDoctorZach I thought you wouldn't cut the shoes. Then I watch the video and 😭😭😭
2grand shoes, and you cut it like that. Dayum
To me this is too pointy, my fingers r crying inside the Book1
Try wearing on your feet instead of hands
Nike will make a cheap shoe and price it too expensive!...
First
Stop giving nike ideas
