VF Calais Respray

- In this video I will take you through the Spray Painting on this VF Calais in Switchblade Silver, Paint Code: 636R.
I will be using PPG Envirobase colour and PPG LVC 131 Clear, I will use ANi F160 1.3 for Primer, DeVilbiss DV1 1.3 Basecoat for base and the Iwata Black Mamba 1.3 WS-400 for Clear.
I will give detailed commentary on the procedure.

they just switched my shop over to envirobase today. ppg is pushing the one visit modifier hard here. the rep acted like they don’t even want you to use the old 3 coat system anymore and to only stick with the one visit modifier.
@@bdubwiley I definitely wouldn't call the one visit a total solution. It's handy to use, but mainly on resprays or darker colours.
@ i’ll keep that in mind. i have no problem using the 3 coat system. that’s how i used enviro years ago. they are definitely trying to push one visit like it’s the next best thing.

my FLG 5 finally bit the biscut 11 years 11 minus 40 winters in the garage. while painting a impala boom started leaking every where . i do however have a F160 2.5 tip I havent used yet for priming my Karmann Ghia and i bought a 1.3 tip and cap 3 months a go. I finished the impala off with Devilbiss Compact. that id the job. single stage paint

i feel one thing if you close ws400 fan you instinctively pool back the gun. if you wide open you get little bit closer and that split gap it almost not existing. And also I noticed with wide fan situation I overlap different probably 70/60 proc if closed probably 50 proc
And of the record if you took ls nozzle and ws cap combine it together you technically got OBS iwata in series 2 so if I good remember is pretty same in series one. If I remember well ls nozzle have smaller holes around the fluid and ws has bigger

Hey gunman did you maybe try putting clear base over headlights, where I work a headlight has some kind little scratches and I can't to get them out, I put clear base over the headlights and 2 coats of clear coat and they disappeared . But I'm scared of delamination

It’s always so obvious when a ve vf has been painted before .. that crisp body line gets rounded sometimes almost disappears with the soft pad on the wizzer especially if it has been primed . Hopefully you didn’t go to hard on it . 👍👍👍
