Christie likely will never be as good as Luka or AD, so losing AD is the only thing that can hurt. Losing Christie hurts too only because we literally lost 2/3 of our best defensive guys when we were already bad defensively.
Vando, DFS, Gabe and Max are fighting for the playing time. Lakers had to choose whom to give up. They want to have balance in the team since Vando and Gabe are back plus DFS on the defensive end while Luka, AR and James are on offense. One missing piece, a reliable true center.
@@johncleffordlansangan4976 Lmao nah Reaves is gone after this trade. We've already seen you can't play two defensive liabilities simultaneously and I doubt we keep Reaves off the bench. We desperately need defense now even more now than before.
Just when our defense turned a corner and looked like one of the best in the league, we’ve lost a great on ball defender in Max and a most versatile defender in AD. This trade actually lowers our chance this year but our future is bright. No one will be able to duplicate AD’s presence on defense.
lmao you know thats not what anyone meant. Nice to have Luka, sorry to see Max and AD go right when this team seems to have finally found an identity and was only getting better. Thus sets us back short term which is when we still have bron, but also we now have a generational player at the start of his prime, so yeah it's a bit bittersweet
Great execution bu the team on the crazy good gameplan by JJ. I know it is unfortunate to see AD and Max go, but c'mon guys we got way better, Luka is already better and he is 6 years younger.
@ I get the trade for the future. Lakers brass feels like they have to have a "Star" at all times. I just dont see how it makes us better this year, unless LeBron is being traded to a contender like Cleveland
Jalen Brunson is the primary ball handler, even to the point where they will pass to him when he's covered and they're open. That means Brunson is vulnerable to the double team. What's makes it worse is the Knicks aren't effective with their pick n roll. The screens are soft and small. That forces Jalen Brunson to dribble through a double team because it doesn't shake the defender. 00:44 - Brunson vs Reaves. The weak pick and roll means he has to face both Reaves and Hayes. 02:46 - Brunson gets doubled. Gets no help and has to make a pass to a bad target. 03:36 - Brunson vs Reaves. Hart is slow to the 3pt line allowing the Lakers to double Brunson and contest his 3. 03:53 - Brunson vs Max. Bad pick and roll. Brunson moves into a double team and Reaves gets a steal. 04:21 - Brunson vs Max. Jalen Brunson doesn't get double teamed but the pick and roll just bad. Max followed him to the rim and disrupted the layup. 05:25 - Knicks don't adjust and Brunson gets tripled teamed. Embarrassing. 05:35 - Gabe Vincent is stuck to Brunson like glue. Achiuwa is open and passes to Jalen anyway. 06:20 - Brunson vs Max. Lazy AF pick and roll leaves Brunson double teamed all of the way to the rim. Weakest screen ever. The Lakers game-planned all of this and did it without AD.
Fr I still don’t get why max either we lost some of our top frontcourt n Guard players who played both sides, it’s gonna be concerning for our defense but this better not be the last trade b4 trade deadline or else we’re doomed
offensively the lakers have a lot more fire power now and someone who can take over games and literally dismantle teams just like a young lebron minus the athleticism. Defensively they are one decent C away from being a top 3 team in the west I would say. If they were able to get a decent C doesn't even need to be a stretch 5 at this point with Luka, but a rim protector and someone who can give other 5s some trouble. Losing max hurts more than AD tbh cause he was someone that found his place and was getting better every game. His points avg was also increasing. The fact that he did not let the bright lights phase him and learned to work with AD bron and AR and found ways to get buckets... I wish they got rid of someone else instead. But I am curious to see how things turn out. Vucevic may be available now since the Lavine trade...
Brunson is way overrated, he won’t make either mavs or knicks successful. Containing Brunson doesn’t mean shit. Lakers must contain jokic to get the championship, getting rid of ad is probably a good way since he is son of jokic
LAL: Capela and Bogdanovic ATL: Rui, Gabe, Kliba, draft capital As someone from Serbia, I know how much Bogdan and Luka would looove to play together. And Austin to be the best 6th man in the league (play Vando in starting 5) 1. Luka 2. Vando 3. DFS 4. Bron 5. Capela Plus, Hawks are the only team that would look at Rui as positive asset in a trade
losing max hurts more, he’s a young guy who was just finding his place and getting better as a 3nD player this is lowkey gonna bite us back hard
My thoughts too. We just lost our 2nd best guard
Luka is a walking 30 pt triple dub

It was worth trading him.

Sad going out for Lebron without AD, no ring chance

This Timeline is crazy, good Lakers defense and Luka Doncic getting traded.

Luka is a top 3 player at 25 y’all lucky they didn’t ask for reaves tho
Mavs probably wanted him because he's young and very promising
Could of gave them Cam or Vincent
LBJ, Luka, and Reeves don't play D. LBJ has an excuse, not the other two. We better get some D players.

Maxi 😢😢😢😢😢
Hopefully this is all LeBrons move to get back to Cleveland where he would have his best chance to win another ring this year and next.
Max was great in this game, and all year as a defender. Should have traded Gabe.
Lakers can now deal Rui, Knecht, and draft picks for a quality center.
