Instead of doing a farewell tour in the NBA, he’s doing something even more meaningful-uplifting the community. The fact that he brought up other guys and players who went to the school is amazing, man. This kind of positivity inspires so much hope for the kids and leaves a lasting impact. Much Respect!

Just shows how humble he is to come revisit where it all started. He played on a park as a kid called Murray Park, nicknamed 'murder park'. That tells you all you need to know about the environment he grew up in, coming from the most dangerous part of Chicago at the time, Englewood. But Simeon was when people saw him and thought wow if Derrick can do it, I can do it. His journey has been a joy to watch. There will never be another... glad his jersey is being retired. He deserves it🌹
