Episode 1: Special Guest Artist Elena Villalón delights with a lovely program of opera and art song favorites and includes a sweet surprise selection to end her thirty minutes with us. Elena is joined by Nyle Matsuoka, Austin Opera's Principal Coach, at the piano.
Originally from Austin, Texas, soprano Elena Villalón is a current first-year Houston Grand Opera Studio Artist and the Mr. and Mrs. Harlan C. Stai Fellow. Elena was a winner of the 2019 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. In the spring of 2019, she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). She has been a vocal fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center and returned during the summer of 2019 as a soprano fellow.
