- The S-Model Hotchkiss H35 light tank! It's an itty bitty baby tank and it's quite cute. An interesting subject for a model! The kit builds up nicely enough, though some of the photo etch parts are a bit frustrating and annoying to deal with. But there are certainly worse things.
In the end, I like this kit and I feel like it was worth the few dollars I paid for it. Definitely looking forward to more S-model stuff. Namely the Crusader... Might do one of their Cruisers too.
Good times.

Adorable baguette tank. Though a little too fiddly for me with the brass. But very nice.
I remembered the time were I was playing war thunder in a Pz.4 C and shot at the H35 and ricochet the shell, FRENCH BIAS!
The little cap is a rotating cupola so you could pace it however you want ;)
I might be wrong, but I don't think that thing on the roof is a hatch. A lot of French tanks had those round caps purely for housing vision devices, the hatch for getting in/out of the turret is the one on the back. One of the things the Germans did when they captured these tanks was replace that round thing with a German style two-hatch cupola.
And yes, the H35 only had a crew of two, the French based most of their tank doctrine around an idea they had for light tanks back in World War 1, they described them as being like mosquitos, small things that swarm on the enemy, as such they were made to have the smallest crew possible and be generally expendable.
it's no hatch, it's a rotating cupola, the commander could push his helmet against it and rotate it with his head.

I could be wrong, but those Photo-Etch tools look more like 1/35 scale than 1/72 scale!!
Brilliant video though and a lovely little kit apart from the PE.
Keep up the great work and of course, Have Fun,
Joe
It's very cute. Could you maybe build a Some S35? It's my favourite French Tank.
Loved the choice of music. Thanks.
Excellent. Usually I get whiny comments about the music haha.
When I play French tanks with small guns like the AMC 34 yr or H35 in War Thunder, I go around with my one inch punch going "RIP AND TEAR UNTIL IT IS DONE!" Against the enemy team.
I really wish kit manufacturer's would stop molding pioneer equipment on the tank, makes it so much harder to paint.
I don't totally agree. But some of them certainly do a better job with it than others.
Oh no! The French tank could loose the rear view mirror! How will it see where it is going!
Hi herbert please make an hms hood tamiya 1:700
Superior kit, I wish my store had these too
They're fairly easy to get from Ebay
Now, nearly 9 month after you posted this video, did you manage to break off some of tha PE parts?
I haven't. But I think that might be because I haven't touched the model. As soon as I do though...
The Exhaust Has To Be The Other Way Around...
No. It's built the way the instructions say. Pretty sure the exhaust was modified later though.
I have this same kit.
Why for heavens sake do they (Kit manufacturers) provide separate and molded on pioneer tools? painting the molded on tools in that scale is a annoying job.
whell see more as post
