MoviPro is my favorite, hands-down. And for the same reasons you mentioned here. I originally bought the R2 and took it out for use just ONE time and that was enough for me. I returned it right after. Great review!
Alright dude, after our conversation, I came, I saw. And you sold me haha. Especially since I could probably pay less than $3K out of pocket after selling my Ronin MX
Nice! MoVi is AMAZING, and as you go along you can deck it out with accessories and stuff. Ignite Digi has the best accessories for the MoVi so definitely consider them.
No joke, when I switched from the Ronin MX and Ronin S to the MoVI Pro it was a game changer. Like you said, it's really solid for solo operation. I picked up the classic handlebar for it to help get better low angle shots that the ring can get in the way with. Do you feel that the Ignite offsets were really worth it?
@@Minhute yes sir, I have a shogun 7. I guess what I am asking is, is there a good spot to mount the monitor and being able to connect it to the camera without to much tension
I see it as different gimbals for different purposes/situations! The MoVi and any gimbal like it would be more for music videos and bigger sets, different movements really. Its a TON easier to move the MoVi how you want it as opposed to the RS2 which is a little limiting sometimes. But I also I definitely wouldn’t be carrying the MoVi in super tight spaces or bring it in a carry on for a quick travel vlog or something. Different gimbals for different situations! Really depends what you’re shooting and what you’ll need haha, both are AMAZING gimbals and super capable
Debatable! Im sure its an amazing combo, I just havent perfect the rig with counterweights etc. just need to run it a few more times x also its SUPER HEAVY lol
The R2 is definitely the superior gimbal. Stronger, more reliable, more professionally built. But carrying the damn thing is a nightmare. Unless you’re a small crew with a readyrig it’s almost unusable.
@@Minhute Yeah! I have a full day shoot with it + Gemini on the 14th. So next week will be spent between the gym and the therapy group. ;-) You solved the main issue with the Movi which is those god awful shitty batteries. That solution would be perfect for me with the FX6, shame the Ignite stuff is darn close to robbery.
Yeah its so expensive’ but honestly a used MoVi with all the Ignite stuff is the price of a R2 haha I run my Gemini on it time to time and it works pretty nice!
@@Minhute I'm definitely considering it for my next splurge! The RS2 is so tempting but i feel like I will always be limited in flexibility with lenses and batteries and will have to rig the camera down every time. If one had the Gemini + Komodo as a B cam though that thing would be perfect for the RS2.
@@Minhute haha, yes, and I see you also use the Komodo with it, I recommend this tenba bag, super efficient and quick to use on shoot ruclips.net/video/GiSpFuXjfkM/видео.html

Thank you! MoVi is just so amazing even if its a little outdated haha
Thank you for this video. It convinced me to go this direction too after years of Steadicam and Ronin.
Of coursen so glad I could help your decision!

@@Minhute right on! Thanks man!
Got any good recommendations for finding used Movi’s?
Honestly I’d run through eBay and check seller ratings and descriptions in depth. I got mine off Facebook market with local pick up.

They’re pretty worth it when you’re running heavier rigs! It really depends what you’re running on the gimbal
@@Minhute generally a Z Cam E2-XX with a 4-5lb lens. I currently use the Cinemilled dovetail with counterweights but that just adds weight.
The offset might do a bit to help! At that point whatever works right haha
@@Minhute Exactly. Thanks for the quick replies. Love the content my man. You got a new sub.
nicee whats the plate you used with the 15mm rod?
It's the ignite digi universal plate!
Freefly invented the modern gimbal, my 7 year old M5 is still super smooth
For sure! I love their products so kuchh
Would you’d recommend this for a Sony FX6?
Definitely!!
This is so dope
Omg wow thx
Hey David, Do you know if you can put a Atoms Shogun 7 on the Movi Pro?
You can use any monitor! It connects directly the camera not the MoVi itself
@@Minhute yes sir, I have a shogun 7. I guess what I am asking is, is there a good spot to mount the monitor and being able to connect it to the camera without to much tension
Do you prefer the Movi Pro or the DJI RS2? I saw your other vid on the RS2, but I wanna hear your thoughts on both :D

@@Minhute AWESOME THANK YOU!
Of course!
Thanks for your thoughts about movi Pro. Can you put a Red on it with 2,6 Kg Tikona lenses and get it balanced?
You can! I definitely recommend some Ignite Digi tilt offsets though for heavier loads.
What’s better for Komodo and sigma 18-35 setup? Ronin MX or Movi Ring Pro II
Well I’d always go for the one that has a higher payload, the MoVi. The Ronin MX is a bit more lightweight.
So you wouldn’t recommend this setup with dzo Pictor and Komodo?
Debatable! Im sure its an amazing combo, I just havent perfect the rig with counterweights etc. just need to run it a few more times x also its SUPER HEAVY lol
i was 50/50 but now im 100% movi!
Glad I could help you decide!
How and why are you using TB50's?
Ignite digi makes TB50 adapters for the MoVi! I do it because Freeflys regular batteries die overtime pretty quickly and you get less runtime.
the movipro looks good but I just cant justify that price point
Definitely understandable! Really depends on what you need out of a gimbal and your budget
Way too overpriced for the materials it has imo.
both of me.
The R2 is definitely the superior gimbal. Stronger, more reliable, more professionally built. But carrying the damn thing is a nightmare. Unless you’re a small crew with a readyrig it’s almost unusable.
Definitely! Its more modern and comes packed with a TON more. Like you said though, so hard to use alone haha which is usually me!

AHHHHHHHH
AHHHHHHHHHHH
company focus on one thing
Which one haha
I want a movi but feel its overpriced
Buying used is a lifesaver!!
And definitely not overpriced for what it can do and handle
@@Minhute what are ur thoughts on the ronin RS2 and the tilta ring?
RS2 is amazing mine comes in on Monday!! Excited for it, Tilta ring looks iffy to me though
Jay park whomst
Park Jay
Nah. Marginal 1% better performance is not worth 20x price.
Way too expensive
You can find a ton for 3500!
@@Minhute thanks David, but here in South America it costs way more unfortunately.
Ahhh :(
