God bless the Speer Family for all the Glorious, Spirit filled Hymns they have brought to us over the years. Papa and Mama, Brock, and now Ben, has now gone home. Heaven is rejoicing as they come home one by one. The Speer Family Chain will once again be unbroken. Praise the Lord! What a Blessing to our hearts and lives. Glory to God! What an IncredibleFamily. They will all be missed immensely.
THE FIRST TIME I MET HIM IN PERSON WAS 23 YEARS AGO, AFTER A CONCERT THE HOMECOMING FRIENDS AND BILL AND GLORIA GAITHER HAD IN LUBBOCK, TEXAS! I WAS JUST ABOUT TO WALK AWAY WHEN HE TAPPED ME ON MY SHOULDER AND STARTED ENCOURAGING MY SINGING! I'LL NEVER FORGET HIM FOR THAT!
Loved The Speer Family. They made several visits to Davis Creek Church of the Nazarene back in the 50s to the 70s. Miss all the Speers. Our loss Heavens gain.
so sad that brother Ben has passed away. one of the greatest tenor singers and songwriters ever. rest in peace dear brother. looking forward to seeing you in heavens country.
So sad to hear of the passing of a legend Ben Speer , beautiful Gospel singer love his rendition of Beautiful Star of Bethlehem may God look after him in Heaven Rest in peace bro
Just now reading of Brother Ben Speer's crossing over. Sad news for all of us out here, but joyous for our brother through the blood of Jesus - healed and restored in the arms of God! "We Are Coming Home At Last" indeed! My thoughts and prayers, this morning, go out for all the families being devastated by the cruel effects of Alzheimer's. Please pray for the scientists who are working day & night to untangle the physical mysteries of a cure and/or prevention of this baffling thief of so many of the brightest, most creative and productive members of our communities, including our churches. The doctors and research scientists need our fervent prayers, when we pray for the Families and other Care-givers of Alzheimer's sufferers. The Holy Scriptures say, "The fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." Alzheimer's has become epidemic - we must pray fervently, children of God! [Footnote: When my Mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, her Church dropped her like a hot potato, after her lifetime of devoted service, both as a Pastor's Wife and as a Pastor herself; as well as having often served as a Sunday School Teacher, and a term as a State Secretary of the Victory Leaders Band (the Church's young adults' Auxiliary) in her State of birth and that of her truly life-changing conversion at age 16. The last coherent (and deeply heart-felt) thing my Mother said to me, before Alzheimer's stole ordered thought and speech from her (this woman who also, after age 50, had completed LPN school, took her "State Boards" and received her license; then, continued with her education and became a licensed Nursing Home Administrator for no less than 10 nursing homes in Holmes County and Stark County, Ohio) was, "All I've ever wanted to be was a child of God." Well, she certainly was THAT; but, she died of Alzheimer's at age 85, virtually abandoned by her Church family. Please do not let such a shameful thing happen in your local church. Please! Those families need you, even tho' the Alzheimer's victim may no longer remember your name or how much they loved you - think instead of how precious you are to the family, for YOUR remembering their loved one and caring enough to patiently visit them for a few minutes or more (of course, you'll want to call first - life with an Alzheimer's patient can be somewhat unpredictable (: good days & some that are not so great). Ask them, the care giver(s), how you can help. You may be surprised by the little things that mean so much. God bless you all.]
I AM JUST SORRY I MISSED THE ENTIRE SPEER FAMILY WHEN THEY WERE ALL SINGING IN THEIR PRIME YEARS! WHAT AN ANOINTED FAMILY, WHO USED THEIR MUSICAL TALENTS TO GLORIFY GOD!
jesse James most men and women married again AFTER the lost of their original marriage do NOT leave much to their current wife. That was Ben's choice and his business.

BEN HAD A BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIAN SPIRIT AND PERSONALITY!
Does anybody know how old he was?
put his name in your browser and his info will be there almost always. Ask anything!
Aliyah Burnette He was 86
I belive that Mary Tom Speer died nearly three years before Ben and Rosa Nell.
question if Ben was so big why is his teenage wife crying on Facebook she has no money unless he did not leave her a dime and the kids got it all
jesse James she is not a teenager
jesse James most men and women married again AFTER the lost of their original marriage do NOT leave much to their current wife. That was Ben's choice and his business.
um WHAT? LOOOOOL, I'm pretty sure Ben Speer wouldn't have married a teenager at his age lol
