It would’ve been nice to hear a vocal (either a dull or sibilant vocal) through this too. Still not sure if this or the CL1B is the way to go after talking to the guys at Sweetwater.
This is a great compressor - no doubt about it. And I love Sweetwater. Bear in mind though, Sweetwater has been making a big push on these units recently for those wanting a CL1B. 1) its more expensive and more importantly 2) the CL1B has a 3 year waiting list. They would rather you buy a product today than wait 3 years for you to possibly buy one at that point. Just take it with a grain of salt. That being said, I dont think this is an inferior vocal compressor in any way - probably one of the best on the market right now for vocals. A different character to the 1B though.
Different animals. Obviously the VLC has EQ and is incredible. It’s more transparent in my opinion. The M808A has more variety and tonal options for distortion etc. Both obviously incredible units.
Wow, it is insane what these things can do! Thanks for the video Mike! Keep em coming!
This is fantastic! Great demo and I’m blown away by the range of tones. Great video as always.
Sounds amazing !

Any leads yet?
