Can it do an 1176-ish sound in a pedal form? Sure. Is it actually better than an 1176? Of course not.

I like all 3 modes activated for vocals.
To tell you the truth, I think I prefer the unprocessed drums.
It’s just a totally different vibe entirely. I obviously pride myself on the ability to get kickass drum tones without doing anything. The point of this is how much you can shape and change with these units, not necessarily which is better.
God I ADORE your raw drum sounds. Holy freaking shit best Ive heard on youtube on ANY of these channels. Would love some more detailed info on your setup. gorgeous
Hey! Thanks very much. Really appreciate that. I’m a huge advocate for getting it right upfront. It’s all in the tuning and drum choices, then the outboard choices. No plugins at all on any of this. Just solid outboard choices on the correct mic sources. I use certain mics to get the “vibe”, heavily processed through outboard and then the other mics for “clean” clear drum picture. Hope this makes sense, ha ha.

@@Rhuggins I’m using that Cascade Fat Head over my shoulder for a lot of “sauce”. From what I can remember, it’s being pushed through a Standard Audio Level-Or. the D19 overhead gets a lot of the midrange and it’s running through a 1960s tube mixer and then pretty heavily compressed in the Retro Instruments Double Wide. Cole’s 4038 overheads running through the Lisciel Maletomp Vari-Mu. Rooms are the AEA R88 into a vintage Compex. The rest of the mics I believe are running clean through various pres, compressor and eqs, 1073s, Audioscape v108, A Designs Ventura, Audient, VC1Q, 1176, Distressor, SSL etc.

Elysia stuff is so good that even the 500 series modules are a go to for mastering

How do you like those BAE 312's compared to other 312, or Api/API style pre's? I've always loved the BAE 1073's, but never tried the 312's yet!

At the beginning, where everything is through the AS78: did you put each and every mic through it, and then mixed it in the DAW, or just sent the whole drumbus as a stereo stem into the AS78? (eg no individual processing, just as a bus)
Good question: everything, meaning everything. Kick bus, Snare Bus, Tom Bus, all efx mics, Room mics, Overheads etc. all printed individually through it. Then, again in parallel on the drum bus.
