Even Rush, as good a film as it was, had similar issues with it and it was based on the true story of the 1976 F1 season. Similar characters to the movie Rush, only about 12 years earlier or so. The cars are pretty realistic without overusing footage from real races. I would have to rewatch this movie to judge it more accurately though.

I have loved Driven since I watched it for the first time when I was 4. I do agree about most of the flaws the movie has and it's nowhere close to Days Of Thunder or Rush, but at the same time, I don't think it's a bad CART/Champ Car/IndyCar movie. It's my second favorite Sylvester Stallone movie next to the Rocky franchise. I guess the main reason why I love it is because it's the only IndyCar movie that exists and I love IndyCar. Maybe there should be another IndyCar movie with the 100th anniversary of American Open Wheel Racing coming up in the next couple of years.
What, no love for First Blood? Such a good flick. Alas, Driven is a winner for me bc I could not care less about the subculture of competitive racing, and it harkens adolescent memories of watching this in my best buddies' basement.
