The issue with this whole situation is that it was self inflicted because Jason fell asleep at the wheel. In his attempt to have a so called "relationship" with Elizabeth so he could fulfilled his infatuation with her. We identified Jason's feelings for Elizabeth as an infatuation (SEE BELOW: DEFINITION OF INFATUATION) because that is how Jason was able to channel the overwhelming feelings he felt for his son and his desperate need to be a dad. In his desperation, Jason fell so overwhelmed that he projected all his love for his son onto Elizabeth and he confused those feelings with love. When the reality was that he was suffering from a really nasty infatuation. In Elizabeth's case she had been infatuated with Jason for much longer though. But given the choice Elizabeth will always choose Lucky. That's why she never wanted Jason to acknowledge his son. Especially, because for Elizabeth her picture perfect family is the Spencer's Family. That explains why she didn't hesitate in telling Luke and Laura the truth about Jake but did have a problem in telling Monica. Also, we all need to remember that quite often infatuations take a life of their own and the people involved in them get stuck on stupid because they confuse those feelings with love. In the process, the people infatuated with each other forget the essence of who they are by compromising themselves just to seek temporary satisfactions. Until something terrible happens that snaps them back to reality. In the case at hand, Jason lost all perspective, focus and he constantly compromised himself because he was in a constant conflict between his core beliefs and his so called "relationship". A so called "relationship" or better yet a "secret affair" that he knew very well from the beginning it had no future. But Jason was so overwhelmed by his love for Jake and his desperate need to be a dad that those feelings kept on feeding his infatuation for Elizabeth until it took over his better judgement and he caved in until he neglected everything that mattered to him. For, he decided to try to make it work with Elizabeth. We are not arguing that he didn't love Elizabeth. What we are arguing is that Jason was truly infatuated with Elizabeth just as much as she was with him. And more often than not people who are infatuated with one another tend to confuse their feelings for love when the truth of the matter is that an infatuation is anything but love. The reality of the situation was that the basis for Jason's infatuation with Elizabeth was his overwhelming love for Jake and his need to be part of his life. Nonetheless, all of those feelings and the fact that he was trying so hard to make it work with her when he knew all along it would never work out distracted him from the business which eventually led to a ripple effect that caused a series of devastating consequences he later on had to face: 1. TMK grabbed Sam. Elizabeth was in the wrong place at the wrong time. 2.Jason hurt his hands 3. Jason didn't tell Carly that Michael was playing around with guns. 4.. Michael shot Kate by accident and then Michael ran away because he was afraid of Sonny's reaction. 5. Carly went after Michael and lost her baby. 6. Sonny started to spiral out of control 7.Michael got shot. 8. Jason takes over the business in exchange Sonny signed over his parental rights to Carly 9. The Russian Syndicate moved to Town 10. A counterfeit drug ring got established and Jerry was part of it. Sam was undercover and Jason didn't know about it. 11. Kate got shot, again 12.Sonny joined the Zacchara Organization. He married Claudia Zacchara. 13. Russian Mob War got started 14. Sam, Elizabeth and the kids were attacked by the Russians 15. Jake was kidnapped by the Russians. Sam saved Jake. Interesting enough, it was Sam who told him that because of his choices his son was going to pay (01/11/08). Truth be told that is exactly what happened, Jake got kidnapped by the Russians during the Mob War. None of it would have happened if Jason would have been paying attention to his job like he always did before he decided to live a life based on lies and without a moral compass. Lesson to be learned for Jason. Hopefully, out of this whole mess now Jason would do a lot of growing up because he desperately needs it. In addition, Jason needs to work hard on repairing the damage he caused. He also has to work hard to earn the forgiveness of those he caused harmed to. Sam should be number one on his list. After all she is his Bonnie to his Clyde. And unlike him, Sam had never failed Jason the way he failed her so miserably. To the contrary, Sam loved him unconditionally without any judgements and no questions asked. Furthermore, she stood by him and supported him. Simply put, Sam got him. While Jason betrayed every single promise he made to Sam. More so, he betrayed her trust and her unconditional love. That's what we call failing her big time. We suggest that Jason goes for a great amount of grovelling if he ever wants Sam to forgive him. Here's an alternate reality...a few days vids before this, Sam is at the hospital listening to Liz spill her woes about her relationship with Jason...AND Sam was encouraging her and telling her "you know Jason loves you." How's that for alternate reality?LOL
Guza was so full of sh*t there was no way in hell that Sam should've been propping Jason & Liz especially telling Liz how much Jason loved her, Guza did all he could to destroy Jasam to please SB & RH to keep Liason going including having Sam running around apologizing constantly & kissing their asses bc she watched Jake get kidnapped Liz was there but Jason never once blamed Liz for it.
