I thought Archaludon was really weird when it was first revealed, but now that I've seen it in action? Easily one of the greatest designs of the gen. And that is before going into how it performs in battle.
@@GravityIsFallingcontrary damage scaling and different coverage. it also keeps the ground immunity so it's a better partner for quake spam. definitely not stronger than flutter but the niche is there.
@@GravityIsFalling Because Stellar Tera Blast normally decreases your offenses, but with Contrary it'll boost them. You also naturally resist Grassy Glide/Sucker Punch and your opponent isn't gonna know if you're physical or special until you use a move, which even then isn't exactly easy to tell if you're using Tera Blast. Oh and you can also use Tailwind yourself if you wanted too.
I was wondering if it was a jojo’s reference and you should Diamond is Unbreakable is super good and something needs to pass the time until we get the official translation of Steel Ball Run
I’m loving it! Justice for Duraludon!! He should have always had an Evolution and many folks expected one back then. A great candidate for Stellar Tera. High coverage move pool ❤❤❤ such a great design too!!!
Stellar would probably work good with mons like Porygon-Z. Normal types like that get loads of coverage and really appreciate the boost to all of them.
I love the build diversity it has with Stamina tanking or just being a Gun that can ignore Amongoos/Whimsicott, nice to see it so popular, but also I have used Sunny Day too many times in response to the Electro Shot charge turn and its just pure comedy
people SERIOUSLY underestimate Archaludon's bulk. Not only are it's bulk stats aside from special defence (bring an assault vest) good (like a certain mythical pokemon), it's typing is actually EVEN BETTER then Heatran. Same resistances, but Heatran has two weaknesses and one 4x weaknesses. Archaludon has two weaknesses, both of which are commonly physical (it's best defence stat). I can see Archaludon being used on every single rain team, and perhaps even just as a wall (it has sturdy to make Ground and Fighting even more worthless). Using a tera type that isn't stellar is literally neutering it's really good defensive typing, like if you tried to terastalize heatran. Sure, you might be able to get one turn free of charge by changing type, but when you have only TWO weaknesses and a TON of defenses, losing that type matchup can be awful.
Now that you mentioned the Stellar Tera Type acts as one time gems from Gen 5, that makes Stellar interesting. Tho, I'm still disappointed by the overall mechanic.
Oh, that last match was really good for showing off the stellar type. Even after watching the Stellar breakdown video, I feel like I only fully understood now! Nice videos as always =]
I love archaludon. I use like rain teams, mostly just cause I end up really liking a lot of water and electric types. Gen 9 made rain by far the inferior weather to sun, thanks to protosynthesis. So, archaludon was made to be the ultimate rain team win condition, and I'm stoked
Personally think Stellar tera should have the same effect as Tera Shell, where you resist the first attack you take after you tera. It’d be thematic and would also not be overpowered, just a slight defensive bonus
I know you're set that this is a mid tera type, but I really think fast pokemon who have struggled with their coverage because of the risk of getting revenge killed will really enjoy this tera type. Can't look up any movepools on the work PC lol, but maybe Dragapult and Iron bundle have some quickdraw moves that this could benefit? Life orb Iron bundle protosynthesis EV'd to boost SPATK? Idk, still would be fun to play around with.
I love archaludon. It's a fuckin bridge, but only two Metres. I have a team on showdown based around archaludon. With after you ribombee, dragon cheer dargapult, and a sis ist ha for good measure
I didnt hear in this video but if you werent running stellar what would be a good tera for arcg? Electric maybe or Steel/Dragon for the extra stab and resiztances?
for some reason they coded Stellar wrong (i will pretend anyway) and it literally just… turns off Adaptability. I was thinking porygon-z would be the best user but maybe Contrary Enamorus
iron boulder is a p cool glass cannon but i don't rly see any merit in crown? meanwhile raging bolt is an incredible rapid strike counter and gouging fire has one of the new best moves in the game
Competitively, I think they're just about equal. The majority of the paradox mons aren't really noteworthy because of the presence of other mons who want to do similar things but also have abilities, and then there are Flutter Mane, Iron Bundle and Iron Hands who really just don't care that they don't have an ability sometimes. They're pretty on par in terms of overall viability

Stellar Enamorus should actually be a good option as Tera Blast will boost Atk and SpA on it.
Also Enamorous learns Stored Power. Disgusting™

I like Moxie's analogy on Stellar Tera. It's like having a gun, and each Type are the bullets. You only get 1 of each Type of bullet to shoot.
When we get a restricted format you should do moon moon moon moon. It would be terrible. However content

and it has stamina
and a good typing defensively
