I was very lucky to choose Jocky for my first SIV in my second season flying. His knowledge and skill in teaching is fantastic. Within 2 months of doing the course I had a full 50 percent asymmetric which I instantly reacted to prevent a course change just as Jocky said I was flying straight under half the wing with no direction change and then dealt with the collapse with 2 good pumps. Later I also had a full stall of the wing which happened in a very strong thermal, again no problem to correct. So glad I did the SIV with Jocky. I plan 2 do another SIV within the next 18 months to further develop my muscle memory.
I'm going to watch this 100+ times, I can't wait to get to an SIV. Taking your machine/ glider to the edge is what gives you confidence when you need it most. Such an interesting course. Thank you for sharing!
I’m just getting past the learning stag of flying as a novice. This is very good to watch and understand. Thanks for sharing this. ...always learning 👍
Hello Andre it would be very interesting if sometime you could talk about the dynamics of compensation after a pendulum, I know that flyeo teaches it but I have never seen an open conversation about it. And the difference of compensating before crossing the window or after crossing the window. Cheers!
So much wisdom here thank you for sharing your expertise Jocky it would be nice to see some of these videos in slow motion understand the Dynamics a little more
Fear is is a natural instinct and only real dumb people feel no fear "mean" do not know fear!! And knowing no fear is a very dangerous game to play if you want to stay alive! Because the very reason your alive is because of fear! To expeariance fear is most commen, and a realistical sober mindset is a MUST HAVE! Because you wil either panic and react then crash or just ACT out of reflex! Either you react or you dont! If you dont then the outcome is the same because its the follow up!!
Thank you for sharing this video. I am new in this sport, and i have bought a niviuk link 2 23m wing... i haven't got the chance to fly it yet, but i would like to know the rating of my wing assigned during the tests. I contacted the manufacture but said that can't provide me this kind of information. Can you help me out? Thank you
Most, if not all, paraglider manufacturers have a link to the test data on their website for each particular wing, but you can also find them here para-test.com as this is the company that does paraglider wing testing.
Sanderson's attitude towards the guy asking for the clip to be replayed after the explanation is totally uncalled for and demeaning! Students come to you to learn, not to be called names. Grow up, do the job you chose to do, and be supportive of students who are there to learn from you. End of rant.
Because its a film m,ade at a Club "talk". someone filmed a lecture! if you ever went to a lecture and there was no talking it would be because you were qatching a movie.
Love the way he keeps to the simple immediate actions which make 90 percent of what matters.
What a privilege to be able to watch this, thank you Andre and the good guys of XCMag!
Every Pilot should watch this, very informative. Thanks Andre and Jockey
This is just amazing content which all pilots should watch. Jocky explaining perfectly and the whole thing was filmed perfectly. A++
Amazing! It is just a brilliant way to calm everyone down. Not the wing kills you, panic kills the wing.

Gibt es das auch in deutscher Sprache?
👍👍👍
Great info! Should have put a fence up though so boneheads don’t keep walking in and out of your presentation!
You wanna feel and fly better just kite and kite more.None of this stuff will happen if your good in kiting.
