City of San Antonio: Peterbilt 520 McNeilus ZRs Collecting Heavy Green Waste

- A few of San Antonio’s 520 ZRs working late into the evening collecting heavy organics on a couple of the Wednesday routes. A couple weeks into leaf season, I found two trucks helping each other finish up just after 6:30 pm. They ended up working until about 7:30 that night to finish up that neighborhood. The week after that I found another ZR finishing up on a different route just after 7 pm. It’s crazy how late drivers end up working during this time of year to compensate for all the extra yard waste and this is not even the worst of it. It’s always cool to see trucks working after dark though. I hope you guys enjoy!

ZRs are pretty good trucks for greens because you can get 15 ton loads. How many loads were these guys doing during leaf season?
During this time drivers typically do three or four loads. On one of the heaviest days my driver did five loads totaling 32 tons. The ZRs pack yard waste well but with the amount of volume over here they pack out fast.
did he keep the bin at 5:01 ?
He didn’t get it out so the resident had to replace it
