Hey everyone, this is available for free download on my new Bandcamp page: childishalbino.bandcamp.com I sure as hell don't want to infringe on any rights or make money from this stuff, so this will be the only place for streaming/download of my stuff. Enjoy!
@@christianlarson4201 exactly, the fact the other musicians are quietly trying to imagine a drumbeat like this on the downbeat while not getting confused bc they only actually hear the syncopated piano is absolutely insane.
So adding Radiohead+Radiohead just makes it sound EVEN MORE like Radiohead. Exponential Radiohead. Calm, fitter, healthier and more productive Radiohead...a pig in a cage on antibiotics.
Ed Obrien's guitar pedal effect at the end is absolute perfection. This is from the live From the Basement version. Also this is the best Radiohead edit/mashup I've ever heard.
Yeah this actually works with a full beat (even the messy part that didn't sync-up well went okay), whereas with the original I can't stand the percussion and just wish it wasn't there, least favourite on the album by far because of it. Like I know it's onomatopaeic and supposed to be like a tape rewinding and sure it does that but that doesn't make it a good part of the song and I think it isn't. Leads me to think it might actually make a really good heavy, punchy track if it was completely redone. Imagine the anger that could come through on it, before then bursting into a similar ending full of swirls and piano. That'd be awesome.
Videotapes always been my least favourite by far on in rainbows and I’ve never been able to explain why exactly but you nailed it. This version improves it a lot for me
It's funny how I think that the percussion on the original song is what makes it great. I sometimes find myself just singing the drums (maybe because I'm a drummer)
@@charbelmoussawer2107 I'm primarily a piano player but I play it much like drums and am quite rhythmically-minded in general (without much opportunity in life to have practiced on an actual drum set). I think I just have a moderately unusual opinion here... lots of people like the drums, as far as I gather. Not my thing on this track in particular, but each to their own.
If you intend they are offbeat to offbeat, than i am astonished by your ear (even tho they mess up with them in every version). Otherwise, you can still listen to a completely different song and you ll realize they are supposed to be there.
The middle beat is actually where it is shown here. Kinda hard to get your head around when you're used to hearing it without beat, but this is how the band hear the song when they play it.
@@alcazar9266 Yes but his comment is not about literal words if james was able to read between lines instead of spending his time arguing semantics he would notice that the OP is frustrated by people parroting words they do not understand, not by them literally using words to communicate.

Mashup radiohead x radiohead (the best mashup ever)
Ever heard of Idioteque with just the sounds of Push/Pulk Revolving Doors ? If no, you should give it a listen 11/10
this makes me think "videotape" would have worked really well on the king of limbs.
shit wait let this man cook
It could have rescue the album
yo wait
@@PugiTheDogYT TKOL is super underrated imo, last half and bloom are brilliant
The first track of TKOL samples videotape piano, so it was already inside.
Holy shit did that take me off guard when the drums came in. Resyncopated my brain
I love that they preserved how it was supposed to be syncopated…. But it was too hard to play
This drum pattern actually makes finding the pickup beat.
This would be a great way to teach or learn the underlying rhythm @@christianlarson4201

I finally got the correct groove by watching a live version and seeing how Colin was moving to the “hidden” beat.

my new obsession is youtube recommending me all types of mixes and mash ups of radiohead
🤣 Same, RUclips just recommending me all sorts of Radiohead songs with deferent styles or rhythms
It comes in and just straight away sounds so good I can't believe this doesn't have more views I love it
the way it skipped like an old vcr recorder that needs a head cleaner...brilliant
This is the easiest way to hear the syncopation. Makes it a lot easier.
When you use radiohead to make radiohead sound better than radiohead
This is my favorite version of Videotape. Bonnaroo version is very close behind it then scotch mist
If I’m not mistaken, the base track is the scotch mist version
@@rajbhattacharjea6648in the description says that it is from the basement
I am a bit blow away by how well this works. Shortly after it does I forgot it was a new version because it fit so well.
Thom needs to listen to this
always thinking about this beautiful mashup
This might be one of my favourite things of all time. I really didn’t think it would fit but HOLY SHIT.

self destruction but groovy
This actually slaps wtf
still my favorite remix of Videotape I've heard.
Now with bonnaroo version
Videotape (Is There, There)
Thanks for this beauty, Childish Albino
like the fact you used the from the basement version, nice work
Cool cover art
Radiohead x radiohead, the crossover we never asked for but all needed

Videotape feels like depression but this is depression with tango
Best version of this song.

Such an interesting mix, there there drums is so complex and you syncopated it wow
Also cool cover art how did you came up with it
This is pretty good tho!!!
Holy shit this is good
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes!
Everytime the original Videotape comes on shuffle, I switch to this video instead
WHY COULDN'T WE GET A SONG LIKE THIS FROM RADIOHEAD!?
We did, we just had to put the pieces together

Fantastic
I don't think I'll be able to go back to the original

The album version of Videotape is my least favorite version. The live versions and this mashup are so much better.
Que cumbion
Whaaaaatttttt❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I didn’t like the original drums for this song, this is a bit better, still rocky, but it sounds better with a constant rhythm throughout the track.
This is tough to listen to
*I beg your pardon-*
incredible, itd be sick if coldplay and radiohead did a collab
Hell no
eh
Change the piano to guitarrrrrr
What the drum is that? Awful.
You're half a beat off, bro
