    It's inconceivable that JetBlue is having financial issues, but it does make sense if they were trying to merge with another airline.
    I believe the quarterly loss may be due to the money they had to pay Spirit, along with the PW issues.

    The 779x will eventually get certified and it will begin to sell well. I also think EK will cause the 10x to become a reality. As for B6, the moment NK folds, they will buy them.

      @@nickolliver3021 For the records, my guesstimate for TK order (Firm / option);
      MAX: 100 / 50
      787: 50 / 25
      777X: 0 / 10
      777X order will become firm only after it was flown by other carriers for a few years, but price to be fixed now.
      TK does not normally order a new aircraft type until it is proven in regular use. However Boeing critically needs such a motivating order and they will do anything to extend the size of the order in total.

    Boeing 777 x order by Korea Airlines ? Sounds like desperation as they cant receive new airbus aircraft for up to ten years due to waiting lists. Difficult to know if boeing will be broken up before then or their manufacturing plant will close down; due to the 737 max scrap page scheme.
    Perhaps boeing will restart the 747 NEO and 757 NEO which will be offered to 737 customers at the end of the 737 max manufacture this year?

  • @KingK3lvin

    • @chingweixion621
      @chingweixion621 28 дней назад

      Yes and no. KA doesn't need the US approval for the merger if they are merely a local korean airline. However because the US destinations accounts for a large portion of their business, they may potentially lose their licence to operate to US destinations if they don't get the US approval on the merger. Same applies to Europe & China as well for KA.
      There are other examples of how US made use of this to entice airlines to purchase boeing's aircraft.
      This is also the reason why major airlines outside EU & US such as SQ, CX, EK, QA cannot operate just one type of fleet. They must buy from both Airbus AND Boeing.

      Neither one is better or worse than the other. In the past, many analysts concluded that both the B777-9 and A350-1000 will consume the same amount of fuel per trip on the same transpacific flight. It will be a fine line that will differentiate them apart. The only variable is what can be fitted inside. The B777-9 has more seats and bigger cargo volume but the A350-1000 has higher weight margin. If you have dense and heavy cargo to carry, the volumes will be useless. But if you have extra passengers, you'll need to drop the cargo. So what should the airline choose? The airline's decision will determine which aircraft suits them better.
