We have 7 more books because the protestants removed 7 books from the Old Testament. Luther instigated the removal of books that supported Catholic teachings he opposed. He also wanted to remove several books from the New Testament as well but others said no to that.
This topic is one that I teach about in our RCIA class at my Parish.

13:50 It's not just the great Jewish preachers. This has been done across cultures. When you read something like: Confucius says "What the superior man seeks is in himself. What the small man seeks is in others."; you can thank someone for writing down these sayings in the Analects of Confucius.
Also, there are a few "Thomas" books: Infant Thomas, Sayings Thomas, Thomas the Conqueror, and others. They are all different. When they first found the 114 Sayings of Jesus written down by Thomas, some thought that it was the Q source that they are talking about. Sayings Thomas does contain Orthodox sayings that are also found in Mathew, Mark, Luke, and even partially John. Some of the sayings may be Gnostic, but there is debate about that. And other sayings, we have no idea, like : (42) Jesus says “Become passers-by.”

There’s so much in the actual books of the Bible (73) to read and study and draw from that I fail to see the need to spend time reading books that were excluded from the canon of scripture by the Bishops with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Its like playing with fire, someone always gets burned. Can you tell us what the Church has to say about reading these books?

I’ve always had this question, can we truly say that every word and action documented in the Bible is 100% true or atleast somewhat related to the truth? Because if it were me, I would not remember a said recollection of a 1000 words spoken under emotions enough to write it all down into one holy book. Please don’t come at me, I’m just still new to discovering my faith. Just asking questions I was hushed for speaking about them as a kid or teen.

Can we "really" say that it was monks, theologians who put together the bible and decided what was going into it and what would be left out of it?
Surely it was the Holy Spirit who directed them as to what the bible would consist of? After all this is the Living Word of God, i.e. the owners manual
for how we are to live every day of our lives.

This man speaking at 1:36 says there were no cannons before 400 ad
This man seems to be giving Jerome the retranslator of inaccurate Latin translations into the Latin vulgate but then says he kept some of the inaccuracies because the people were bonded to them, This is the WORST ADMISSION POSSIBLE of a supposed saint.
Read his letter to the pope upon presentation of the Latin Vulgate.
Jerome was not a mastor of Hebrew nor of Greek and we have found some surprising terrors in the Gospel of Matthew. and the same error on the same word in the book of Proverbs.
So on Canons the FAKE arguement is that no church fathres (otherwise called the Apostolic fathers the generation after the Apostles) That NOT ONE GAVE A LIST of the books of the New Testament cannon. It is really funny when you name a bunch of these MEN AS SAINTS. as having something very special and close to God that when Three of them name canons with some shifting books in them and we raise the BOOK OF ENOCH as one that some early popes said they read, that a number of Apostolic Fathers STATED WHERE SCRIPTURE
These moderns knowing little of any of these books as they are not their purer doctrine after 330 ad But almost all taught by these at one time was Church doctrine they laid out all the offices in the early catholic church and also we see a progerssion of several errors and out right false teaching that was carried into the catholic church.
So all that protestants Accuse the Roman Catholic Church of Inventing out of whole cloth
none of these have EVER read the writings of the Apostolic Fathers and saw they made up most of these doctrines and the foundations of Greek Philsophy being taught in a classical ChristIan Education as in all Seminaries today. And the meetings the early Church fathers had recorded by Origen which doctrines now in the Talmud we find voiced by other early fathers that were enshrined in Roman Catholic and Protestant Theology.
So how did teaching of Plato and Aristotle become christian doctrine? How did the writings of the Rabbis in the Targums end up on Christian doctrine? Even Though a number of Fathers mention these early cannons as being scripture Books beyond 66 and beyond 73 One we will mention is the book of Enoch
So what is the real test of Scripture? Would not the books that Jesus Christ and the Apostles quote from and cite from to teach be scripture? These are the Final Authorities
I have studied and worked with Greek Hebrew for 45 years and more recently latin
These men have not. so by my count the book of Enoch is quoted and cited by christ and the Apostles some 28x"s Paul Peter Jude and John all quote passages from Enoch
This book has moved in and out of Canons and is in several major canons to this day as in the Greek orthodox, the Syrian church, and ethiopian church.
From the quotes of Christ and the Apostles we know they used the Greek translation.
Another book quoted and cited from alot is the Psalms of Solomon and we will add another the Wisdom of Solomon. Both are in greek as they are quoted from the greek in the new Testament. There are a number of Quotes of scripture books we no longer have in the Gospels and by Paul.
Matthew and he shall be called a nazerene not in the hebrew or the septuagint.
Acts Jeremy the prophet about the 30 pieces silver and buying the potters feild. that is NO LONGER IN JEREMIAH Origen writes a Jew showed him a copy of Jeremiah where the verse had NOT BEEN REMOVED.
there are verses from paul no hebrew or greek septuagint book contains
So then WE MUST CONSIDER the books listed in the Old Tesament that are missing
Gad the seer is one. IN 1980 Israel repatriated a LOST TRIBE FROM india it was widely reported and this tribe had three books they took with them when they were carried away
One of those books was GAD THE SEER for one decade Hebrew university took custody and translated the anciet hebrew They wrote they had great trouble. (Why is another discussion)
But they finally translated it and published it IT HAS A FANTASTIC VISION of God the father bearing a talking Lamb and the holy spiirt speaking this is the first chapter.
The reason the rabbis made this book go away is obvious (How and why is another discussion) There is a second FANTASTIC VISION in the book of from a gate in Jerusalem into the Kidron valley a man comes with a Camel yoked to a donkey clean and unclean animals the vision is against The rabbis and islam being joined together. (Mohamad went with his fighters to hid from the arabiants as they were robbers of Caravans and they hid in a city run by two jewish rabbincal families MEDINA)
For all who have read the Babylonian Talmud (I have a copy) and have read the KORAN i have a verion with four translations. SOMETHING SHOCKING CAN BE FOUND over a 100 verses in the Koran are word for word in the Talmud its predicessor was the Targums the Hebrew translated into babylonian the language most spoken in new testament Israel. we call Aramaic. Aramaic is babylonian.
It was in MEDINA that the SURA'S record Mohammad hidding and sitting at the feet of the rabbis learning their doctrines and tradtions which then MADE IT INTO THE KORAN
So Gad saw by vision the Union of rabbincal judaism and Islam and in the vision there is then a crescent moon.
the book answers some mysteries in scripture NAMING THE SIN of David counting Israel and telling us more is written in another missing book SAMUEL THE SEER giving content that is not in either book of samuel.
We have two fragments of the book THE SAYING OF THE SEERS. on is in the Catholic bible the prayer of Manasseh which would have been in the end of the book The second fragment is not in the hebrew cannon nor in the greek septuagint The Martyrdom of Isaiah which is a MOST ASTONISHING BOOK where Isaiah the prophet is Sawn in half by Manasseh.
Who is one to the types of the Antichrist the man of sin. the mentioning of a prophet sawn in half in the new testament cites this fragment of the sayings of the seers. The pural seers aka prophets that hid themselves in the wilderness as is written in revelation were a number of prophets and a few faithful and that was all that remained of biblical israel in that hour.
The man who is a type of the false prophets finds Isaiah and captures him and the whole of the remnamt. This is an Astonsihing read that matches so much scripture in the new testament IT IS BREATH TAKING.
I would suggest there are OVER EIGHTY BOOKS CITED AND QUOTED BY JESUS AND THE APOSTLES and a number of them are these missing books of the prophets
note the book of Jasher sold is a fake it is rabbical writings as a number of things written there is also in the Greater Tamlud few non rabbis have ever seen. Let us call these hidden books because they say some very bad things that are unscriptural are and are very evil in their meaning and outreach. Some of this is right in front of all our faces but no one recognises anything.
We will state the DiSbursed tribes had these missing books like in india some places like china there is a lone synagogue in a remote city it has been videographed and i have seen the video. None there claim they are jews now but their descendant are clearly in this village. Somewhere are secreted away what books they had. I have a stong sense one book will be found there.
Each will reveal and open more scripture.
Is this in the bible. We would suggest in revelation the scroll with the seven seal each releasing thunder and lighting and cries These are SEVEN BOOKS that shall be restored to the bible lost books THe book of Gad the seer is the first. If a full book of enoch is found in greek we have a second that can be confirmed WORD FOR WORD.
I strongly beleive in the basement of the valican one or more Books will be found but at this time this library REMAINS SEALED not the use of the word.

How is the gospel of Thomas heretical exactly? I'm curious to know
Edit: so I just read it myself lol and it basically implies that Jesus isn't the master of the people and is only a teacher. And also challenges the pontifical leadership of Peter and says that it should go to James the just Jesus' cousin which flies in the face of the Gospel. So yeah it's for sure heretical.
