- This is my monthly shopping recap for the month of June, which happens to include our US trip and quite some outlet shopping in Las Vegas and San Francisco - or rather: looking around at the outlets. I want to share with you, what I bought in June, what I sold and what my biggest shopping temptations at the outlets were, which I have been able to resist - why. I expected to shop way more in June, since I even saved up to do some US shopping - but yet again the preloved flea market finds have been my best buys. That’s me everytime at the flea market 😂. „This time I‘m just looking around, but won’t buy anything“.
Me two hours later leaving with my bag filled to the top and two additional paper bags filled with stuff 😂🙈. At least the flea market finds don’t do that much damaged in my wallet 😅

Dear Mary, just at the beginning of the video but you asked whether it’s worth it to buy a designer suitcase / luggage. Well if you consider Rimowa and their likes, I don’t think that they are worth it! But some great very good brands for luggage are: Samsonite, Tumi their likes - Those are really worth it! Not comparable to the „cheap“ ones, very comfortable and durable and most of the time have very long guarantee. Can totally recommend, our Samsonite luggage is around 10 years old and still going strong! :)) now off to watch the rest of the video ;))

My patents used to buy Samsonite luggage aswell (the super old suitcase I still own is a Samsonite aswell - it did all my travels with me, at least the past 22 years - 2 US trips aswell 😁 - and it never had any kind of issue 💕).
I should look out for a new Samsonite in that more comfortable convenient shape

My vote also goes to Samsonite - our oldest luggage is exactly 20 years old and still going on strong. We've had 0 problems with it, even with our newer ones. 😊 Although I need to mention that all of our Samsonite luggages are the 2-wheeled ones - don't know how durable are the 4-wheeled.

I hate it so much, when someone uses the Vinted payment system and snatches up an item, I was already in negotiation about🙈. Especially since I hate the system as a seller myself and I would never just push that button for a purchase. I still prefer to have a little chat and pay by bank transfer or PayPal 😅🙈

Hi Mary! I know the feeling (all too well) of buying pants and thinking, I cannot gain a pound if I want to continue wearing these 😂 ALSO the feeling of traveling (abroad or domestically) and not having enough space to purchase the item you want (usually a handbag). It is stressful enough to make the right decision financially but then there's also lugging it around with you and then on the trip home. I went to Paris last summer, which was my last big big trip and the stress I felt trying to decide what to buy and what would fit 🫣 Self-inflicted stress! 😂 I live in Chicago and traveled to California myself, June 5-13th, and made a trip to the San Francisco Premium Outlets in Livermore. Is this where you were? I mostly wanted to go into the Loro Piana store because I was told that the outlets might still carry the Sesia bag (which was recently discontinued). I didn't expect to find them there, but there were a few options for me and then I was stressed the entire afternoon... should I buy, should I not buy it, and I ended up not because, although it was discounted, it still felt like a high price for an outlet (and it being discontinued). I did end up getting a beautiful Max Mara trench at an ok price. Separately, I bought the Celine Triomphe (medium size) last year after eyeing it for four whole years. I came up with several reasons not to buy it but in the end I'm so happy that I did. I got it in France since the price in USD is exorbitant! Also took a risk by not "claiming" the bag at customs and we got by 🇫🇷🤣👖
Yes it was the San Francisco Livermore one - we missed each other so close, I visted that outlet on the 18th of June 😁. Hahaha, I would be waaaay to scared to not claim a luxury bag (if it was a whole bunch of stuff and clothing and I possibly removed the tags and already wore some items during the trip, I might take the risk aswell). But with a luxury bag, where I would want to keep all the paperwork and packaging - I would be so scared and nervous, that I probably would act awkward and customs definitely would want to check my suitcase 😂🙈

@@LuMiLevelUp So close! 🙂 I agree, if you have a box and paperwork in your suitcase that will look more suspect. I usually keep all of my paperwork and tags in my carryon bag. My boyfriend took the items in his suitcase, which was his own idea, since he thought no one would stop him based on his appearance. I agree, it is still a risk. Sometimes I think that if you just openly claim it, they will wave you by with no customs fee. I've heard that this happens. If you get caught with an Hermes quota bag or Chanel classic flap, that would probably be different. Luckily the brands that I like are not as recognizable (to these men) 😂

That Jimmy Choo tote bag … oh wow! So tempting, right? You showed tremendous restraint, so I applaud you! I’m on a no-buy after over-consumption during 2023 / early 2024 … lots of boots / shoes, jewelry, and most definitely bags! I’ve been outlet shopping with my Mom a few times now and walked away having purchased nothing. Just not liking all of the stuff piling up in my house, not to mention money spent. Those Burberry pants are really cute on you! Great deal! I bought a vintage Burberry trench this year, so I love that brand! ❤
Thank you 🥰. I still have a long way to go myself - when we talk about things I actually would need: there’s probably hardly anything. I got really good at mainly sticking to preloved purchases/thrifting/flea market finds - but it’s still a kind of over-consumption (and I absolutely feel you about the stuff piling up 🙈)
