When I was a 14, I worked in a gas station with my mother. Someone came selling or asking to sell the Troublesome Hollow tapes. Of course I bought one. My mother had an Eat More Possum bumper sticker. She died in 95, listening to these songs reminds me of how much we laughed and enjoyed these songs. I’ve been listening with my 9 year old son and he loves them too. Thank y’all for 25 years of memories!
There's a radio station in my area that has "the barn show" & it has been on the air over 30, maybe 40 years & they play lots of wholesome music such as this song. I always smile when I hear it! Sometimes I will breakout whistling or signing it. I get some unusual looks, but anybody don't like this song has no sense of humor!
Those are my boys! They are good at looking hungry! Lol great job guys the song and video are excellent! Shout out to the possum and his skilled flat footing! Justin! Donnie! Tim! Gary! Hungry boys!
My good buddy and I were driving down from Canada to Asheville, North Carolina in April 2000 for a mountain biking trip in the Pisgah forest. After about 10 hours of driving, when we were somewhere in mid-Tennessee, we were listening to the radio and this classic came on. We couldn’t stop laughing, and looked everywhere for a recording - whether tape or CD, and couldn’t find it. For years, we were looking for the song, and occasionally fell across a cover version, but this is the first time I have ever heard the original since that day 23 years ago. I’ve just sent this over to him. Thanks boys!
