I'm a Hispanic, my parents are Mexican and I grew up Catholic. never had any identify issues... I am an American, Hispanic, and proud. My favorite genre is hip-hop, I skateboard, and Im into women like Hayley Williams.. I think the problem is assimilation, Muslim literally cannot assimilate because of there religion. Islam is not Christianity where Catholism is Christianity... So people who come from Christian nations don't have an issue because we share the same values and don't have restrictions like not being able to go out with women or drinking..

Terrorism should not be an option for Muslims that feel like they're slighted by the West. I think immigrant parents must also play their part in this. If a child starts to feel conflicted about their identity (which many of us do), the parents should be understanding and not force them to choose one or the other or make fun of them. Sometimes parents who are afraid that their kids will grow away from their culture or beliefs will begin to beret the kids by saying they're being too 'American' and it just makes them feel shitty because YEAH of COURSE they're somewhat American, that's where they were raised. So many tend to think that being American is gross or unwanted and that only further divides them from one side of themselves (the racists don't help either). Your kid acting a bit American isn't the worst thing in the world, just let them go at their own pace and do what makes them feel most comfortable. They'll come back around to appreciate their own culture.

Just a quick point - on the section under 'Muslims Attacked", at around 4 minutes, there's a piece of b&w video that's narrated with the words, "...punching, kicking and stomping on a Muslim teenager in Brooklyn..."
That 'attack' came about after the assailant's girlfriend had been harassed by two Muslim males and had been locked in her car for around 40 minutes as they continued, banging on the windows etc. She phoned her boyfriend for help, and when he arrived they both tried to run off, but one didn't make it.
The full original footage is available elsewhere on RUclips, along with witnesses from the mosque across the street who corroborated the harassment of the girl. (But interestingly, did nothing at the time to prevent it...)

Apostates, pagans, Christians, Jews, Buddhist, Hindu, all of these are demographics that live in countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Iran, Egypt, UAE. Nobody is killed for not believing in Islam but you can be punished for blasphemy (which varies) or for acts against the Holy book perhaps...
This is the idea. What is being implemented, mind you, can be different. But the spirit of Sharia is not about punishment it is about deterrence and so the methods used to indict offenders is made difficult (some argue IMPOSSIBLE) in this day and age to even lay charges on an individual because there is no more caliphate, no consensus, and therefore the conditions can never be fully met.

Thank you for sharing you perspective. This was an interesting watch.
I believe the lesson to be learned from all of this is that violent people are never happy people. It's the same no matter if you are a young Muslim feeling unfairly treated by the society you live in, or a white nationalist fearing for the future of your country. The violence they commit in the name of their group never comes from a place of good intentions, but rather as a backlash, like a cornered animal.
Most people grow up in groups or find groups that they use to define themselves, especially those who feel outside. It's normal human instinct. But I think if more people recognized these mechanisms in themselves we could perhaps alleviate some of the problems they cause. Fundamentally I do think all religion is bad, as it just adds to the division - it is always us and them - this cannot be avoided as it is a fundamental feature of these social structures - but the way to fight it is to maximize happiness and education - not with guns or laws.

He talked about how he enjoyed watching beheadings and stoning growing up. Thankfully of course this was a chat over the internet.
I am very glad there are many peaceful Muslims but it scares how there are many people who are fully willing to slaughter in the name of religion or ideology.

Second of all our PROPHET didn't wear such long beard, he used to tell his own people at that time, we should look clean so go and shape your beard.. No need to show people that you are true Muslim...bcz we are not Prophets, we are sinful, and you can't change that... And anyway there is no such thing to find the best Muslim without sins... Just be a Muslim for Allah and for your self... And that's it... One thing Allah wants from us, is to be a good human being... Allah didn't ask us to make other people feel afraid of us or hate us... My dad’s best friend got married to a woman from Mexico and they were living a relatively normal life with three children, the man being a doctor and life going ok. Then one day he woke up, house empty, children and wife gone; police at his door... turns out the woman’s father was a pastor and couldn’t stand the fact that his daughter married a Muslim, so he falsely reported him to the police as a “terrorist”. Mind you this was a few months after 9/11 and everyone was still freaked out over terrorists. As long as there is no physical violence, majority of people from western countries wont care what believe or religion you follow.
No need to defend Allah or God via violence, if he is the creator of this world then I think he is capable of defending himself.
Any killings in the name of religions or beliefs will attract fear, criticism, hatred and some times violence towards that religion.
So people from all religion stop defending your God, he doesn’t need your help.

Thank you for the thought provoking content. I just wanted to add my two cents, I am an American woman who is a Christian conservative. I find that I have so much in common with the Muslim people I know in my community. I will say however, on multiple occasions when I have tried to reach out to befriend someone who is Muslim in my neighborhood, the PTA at my children's School and so on, I have gotten major cold shoulders from them. I have quite a few people I am close to now but let me tell you, it took years for them to even smile and say hi first period and in speaking with them now the chip they would carry around on their shoulders that made them so unapproachable borderline rude was pressure from their own communities. I also have tried to find middle ground with people online about Palestine for instance, I am rapidly against Zionism. I can't even begin to tell you the amount of hatred thrown my way when I reach out and suggest ways we could build Bridges in a conservative community. I think both of our communities have been a victim of fake news for years. I hope that all came out coherent, I'm nursing my daughter while typing and last time I tried to engage in a conversation like this I received threatening DM's for days. Thanks again for your perspective

I guess this has to do with growing suspicious and having built this us-vs-them mentality, this black-and-white perspective the video also mentions: If they start making white, non-muslim friends like you, people who don't know you might question who's side you're on. They might also question your motives having grown up in a society that sees them as a threat, especially coming from conservatives. I'd say their suspicions are more than justified. All the more respect to you for tearing down this wall and building a bridge together.
I imagine to them it's feels like it feels to you when making friends with a very open liberal and now all your conservative friends start questioning whether you're still conservative and constantly make supposedly playful jabbing remarks if you so much as mention something labeled "liberal".
Your friends might understand, but will your parents and other parts of your family? How about your priest? What if nobody wants to meet if they're invited, too?
I don't know how much this is true with you and the above scenario. But I know for a fact that these are all questions that Muslims ask themselves when somebody from "outside" tries to befriend them.

Great point on the similarities. The truth that no one focuses on is that, Islam, Christianity and Judaism are very similar as the teachings of Mosses, Jesus and Mohammed was derived from the same source. The division we see is the play of the devil and the media is just one of his tools to occupy the unused portion of the human mind. So one should not be surprised when religions are being attacked left right centre, and we see the promotion of dirty deeds, atheism, the breakdown of marriage and much more. We are living very close to the end of times and Jesus (Prophet Issa) will be coming back very soon and this whole thing will end shortly after. The point here is many muslim women end up guarding themselves because they just can't relate to this lifestyle promoted in the west and they try to be as friendly as possible without engaging. I bet if you were to tell them about some of your believes as a conservative god fearing women, you will see a different side. As for Palestine, I think when you say "Middle ground" this upsets many muslims and maybe why they send you those messages. Middle ground to them means taking what was theres and to you probably means taking what was yours before it was theirs, i bet. Considering that Palestine and Jerusalem are both holly lands among the abrahamic religions, the only solutions is for no one to own it and for it to belong to all, as it did before Israel was created. Jews, muslims and christians lived on these lands peacefully, and that can be achieved without bloodshed. Calling it Israel or Palestine, doesn't matter. What matters, is creating a peaceful society, where all can live in peace, and side by side. Obviously the devil doesn't want this and would rather divide and spread corruption so all we can do is pray and be patient and let God handle it.

I am canadian and a christian moderate. If i know of a person in my community (or family) who commits a violent crime or is planning to, i would have no problem turning them in to police and would have the support of my community and clergy for the most part. That is not the case in the muslim community as a whole. They may not be radicalized themselves but there is a great deal of presdure within the religious community to support, or at least turn a blind eye to those that are. That is the big difference i see and the reason for lack of integration and a clash of cultures. Canadians of all races and most religions dont understand that. The closest comparison i can make that occurred previously was the rise of the Mafia from the 1920's to the 1970's. Most of them were practising Catholics, the community and the clergy all knew who they were but either through family relationships, economic reasons or fear they would not turn them in to police.
Only by changing those dynamics will the fear, mistrust and predjudice be removed on BOTH sides of the conflict

A survey is only a survey, you don't now how they would really act in that real situation. Maybe those who wouldn't report the person want to try to convince that person to stop by themselves, thinking it would be the best way to convince him, more than with polices. They don't want some terrorist attack either. Not only by empathy for the victim but somehow when a islamist fanatic does an attack, all of the muslim community suffers from it as well since they are all accused, unlike when it's a white man doing something.

I mean the parents wouldn't want to report their own child, maybe the neighbours would since they don't have that love toward the suspect but as a mother or father or even sibling, it may be harder to denounce them and, having closer ties, they may think that they could convince their relative to change his or her mind.
Beside many people (not just in case of islamic terrorist attacks) never know or truly believe that this person they know would really do it, often putting it on being only talk.

    here's the thing
the perception is reasonable, given the fact that many incidents based on islamic religious terrorism have taken place in the very heart of their developed nonmuslim nation
if anyone expect people to 'all, all of them have to remain without suspicion etc' thats like telling them to be emotion-less. lets make a comparison
here in indonesia, many muslims and imams are currently overworried about communism
yes, we had communist dark days , but that was like 50 years ago, like the eastern europe when they had soviets taking over
and yet here, and there, and in so many places, muslims are starting to be worried by communist influence 'awakened', and this exist WITHOUT any single communist incident, nor communist group seeking communist ideals (so lack in real evidence that the imams and religious muslims that fall for it, randomly accuse random people. For example: random people irrelevant to communist ideals like the president joko widodo, simply because the nation is trading with china and thats it, ethnicity (the indonesian chinese especially) despite most of them especially nowadays generation are more western-minded, political party (the current ruling party PDIP, at one of the occasion simply because someone take the logo of the party, which is a bull, somehow pull it as 'similar to hammer and scythe which is the symbol of uni soviet's communism, etc
many muslims fell for it, and many imams preach about it exaggerate things and scaring people , that 'communism , the anti islam (somehow), has been awakened', WITHOUT actual activist or political group actually supporting communism nor any incident, and this is what we have
so given this, how weird is it for the nonmuslim majority in , say , USA to have some people (not all, some other are extremely on too blind to see even actual problem that exist within islam, simply because 'thats minority and thats politically incorrect') will stare with some suspicion towards someone with conservative islamic appearances (that actually is quiet a reliable indicator of how conservative they are) with long beards and niqabs, after frequent islamic terror attacks done by the same islamist conservatives, added with the fact many of these guys exist in conservative islamic nations and societies that totally contradict their secular-universal ideals?
and your intro in the video helps to proof it as well isn't it? many muslim families that went to these secular-universal nation in the west, seek to hold their conservative islamic beliefs and apply it to their future generations, rather than actually embracing and integrate to the very same secular values of this nonmuslim nation that allow them to be accepted in the first place, for humanity reason in general

    • @rajabisnis
      @rajabisnis 6 лет назад +9

a certain phase that you've skipped is the one leading to those 'rethorics'
repeated islamic terrorism and most of religious muslims and islamic nations, doing what mohammed told them in quran, and apply it which adversely affects nonmuslim religions, even the non-sunni ones in islam itself
rather than saying 'these rethorics made terror'
isn't it the exact opposite? 'these terror made these rethorics'?
and lets not forget the fact that the west in general is so politically correct that even after so many and obvious islamic religious terror attacks and religious muslims refusing to integrate to the universal secular values of the nation, still many of them aren't even acknowledging the problem because 'thats politically incorrect'
if the 'starting point' is this white nonmuslim majority that brings in the 'hate', why don't these some people that share the 'rhetorics' don't have such problems with hindus or buddhists? the same religious non-christian minorities, and they don't have these in general, why?
simple, because they mainly integrate just find to the universal secular values of the very nation that accept them, and there's not much of an issue with religious terrorism done by those groups
now lets take a look on islamic nations and even societies (even the ones in the west), and you'll have many especially the ones in muslim nations, approving capital punishments to those who leave the faith, restricting other religion whlie privileging islam, and many more discriminations
they're not here 'because of the western rethorics against islam', they're there because of islam and its doctrines, sadly there's a certain difference that make islam different than the other religions, the fact that the doctrines seek to change things the way they want it to be , based on a person who's being made a 'perfect role model' that actually do these things in his life, and applying 'this is written by God' thus claiming absolute doctrine of this seek to dominate and change things the way islam told you to

As a survivor of an attack I started reading islamic sources and christian sources.I also started expressing my concerns about passages that order to kill me (Sahi Muslim 6985) or Muslims (Sahi Bukhari 6922, Surat 9 verse 73) and the usual suspects 5:33 crucification -beheading-exsanguination by amputation, casting terror Quran (3:151) ,Quran (2:216) - "Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it, Quran (9:111)slayn and be slayn, Quran (17:16) destroy a town, Quran (8:67) great slaughter, Quran (47:3-4) beheading, Quran (61:10-12) paradise as reward. The result: Now I'm friends with Muslims all over the world, especially suffering under an absolutistic dictator system, like under Chameni in Iran, Hamas in P.A., Assad in Syria etc. that got rejected in Europe, while their very racist other family members got in.I had often the "they look down at me because of my...." and when they afterwords realised, that I'm jewish they became the worst kind of racist.Yes, it's sad that always is a 50/50 chance of Taquyia, but I learned the BIG difference between integrated and assimilated.Ex-Muslims or hyper-pious Muslims that integrate in society, like Muslim Zionist, Muslim Israeli IDF heros. Fact is: There are credible integrated Muslims, that are a minority and usually have a fatwa on their head. And all are homo sapiens, protecting their lives is in the Tora kids hashem, the highest honouring of the only one g.d possible (ha shem = the name). All know why what happens.InParis it is usual that one Mullah extorts on the street from anybody a little bit brown for zakat (that's like tsedaka, giving to the poor, but this Mullah needs it not for the poor).Always around three to four muscle monsters. Not pretty, that's a criminal that is very well organised and there are regions where it's either 'revert' or join (if you're already Muslim), and afraid of being called "racist" honorkillings, apostate-killings, one streaming against the other all goes.ISIS loves all of Quran and Sunna, is zero Islamophob and kills jews, christians and muslims. Therefore it's muslimophob. And I, like every average conservative (national socialists are in principle socialist, what is far left), prefer being an islamophob (criticising some concrete passages) but Muslimophil (liking people). And, as an often weird observed orthodox jew in europe: Sometimes people look at you stupid and hateful because that's their default setting (meaning they are simply assholes, be happy they self identified show you whom not to speak to).Hate makes stupid an reckless - that's why it leads to failure.Throw PC over board, you call me Kuffir and I call you goy, than in the evening we've got a coffee and I talk about making fasting easier by a ketogenic oriented diet.Warming up old cheese that's the job of a microwave...

H MF Now, i wouldn't argue against anything you've written but that wahabiism and salafiism are relatively new problems within your religion. Again, terrorism has something to do with your religion. Just accept it. That would be the first step. And how long do we want to rest on the fact that american, British and French foreign politics are horrendous? When is it aloud to talk about the issues within your religion?

    • @fhaadlockhat4404

mclaughlin "Terrorism doctrine in it's text"? So I assume your saying that the Quran promotes terrorism? I think rather than just translating what the Quran states, you need to look at the context of what the Quran is talking about as well, for example: The verses in the Quran were not revealed within one day, rather they were revealed during a period of several years during the life of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Several of those verses were revealed concurrently to when the Qureish tribe and their allies attacked and were at war with the Muslims in Medina. The Quran talks about being peaceful and not killing people but due to the situations that was taking place, there were verses that were revealed to the prophet that ordered him and the people of Medina to not back down and to fight back against the opressors.
Point is, the "terrorist doctrines in the texts" are there for when Muslims are being opressed by another force. Even when Muslims are at war and in a battle, the Quran CLEARLY threatens punishment upon Muslims who kill an innocent person, kill a women, kill a child, kill an elderly person, kill a sick/disabled person, kill a person who surrenders, kill a person while they are praying/ worshipping (to whatever God or God's they believe in), destroy infrastructure or homes, destroy trees or environment, etc. Now tell me how many "Islamic" terrorist broke those rules. This is why every single leading Islamic scholar that Muslims currently look up to condemn terrorists, they are committing the biggest sins in Islam.
English professors have analyzed Shakespeare's plays and texts for hundreds of years, and you think you can read a few verses of the Quran for 10 minutes and understand the entire religion of Islam.

"... Muslims living in the west are forced to choose and they don't want to ... when society tells Muslims you're a terrorist your religion is terrorist... well that kid that's in that space thinking about who I and what I what am I that's exactly what he's gonna hear. He's going to say you know what I'm going to be that terrorist I'm going to show you... "
You are promoting the very ignorant belief, once again that it is not that child's fault or the religions fault but it is all to be blamed on the western countries or people that tell him,her anyone with any amount of education will tell you you're conveniently blaming it on anyone or anything except the perpetrator!! I converted from Islam. I no longer practice it. I came to a western country where I was able to freely study and speak honestly without penalty (as in what happens in Islamic countries if you speak against or even question the religion. We all know it's also used against neighbors by neighbors to get them in deep trouble by the government).
Again and again I see the people of islam blaming anyone or anything other than themselves. it makes me sick to hear this bullshit. If you hate the way you're treated here go to an islamic country. Muslims from Islamic countries are dying to come to Western countries there is no denying that. Most of the hate comes because they are not allowed here. Don't try to blame anyone that isn't a muslim for all the craziness that a muslim does and stop using bullshit excuses

methodology not ideology? the problem is the ideology is part of the actual problem, as they're ideologically brought to think that way by islamic doctrines
identity crisis? conservative islamic imams and schools, are pulling you away from actually integrating to the secular universal values. Ironically everyone was normal at first, now some become suspicious, because of repeated incidents by muslims done religiously motivated, step by step down the islamist path
you don't need discriminations for religious muslims to refuse integration to the secular open minded values even though ironically these are the ones accepting them there in the first place. This is hatred bred within islamic community by its own imams and religious zealots
yes, you have to criticize ideologies that are dangerous, if simply criticizing it even so reasonably after the frequent islamic attacks and the fact that religious ones always doing things like favoring sharia etc becomes 'aggression', thats scapegoat to blame others for problems inside your own community
what should be done? be open minded and critical, look at maajid nawaz and other muslims who are actually integrating to the secular values

If rich people move to rich areas they're not classist they're just using their free choice right?

The adult content in this video is a bit hypocritical of the actual topic, which is about Muslims and Islam. Certainly I wouldn’t have come across it if it wasn’t for the title. It’s quite cunning. I regret clicking.
I wonder where this level of lack in sensitivity around our culture comes from, considering who’s speaking on it. Even non Muslims cover up when in Muslim countries out of respect.
Sympathy is a sign of having some humanity. It doesn’t mean agreeing with the acts that someone may do. We all have it and suppressing any feeling is not a very good idea. Having said that, talking about it is the way forward.

How can I be iraqi if I can't speak the language properly? If I haven't experienced the culture? How can I be English if I'm not from this land? Im a foreigner in this country and a foreigner in the old country. I have a British passport, does that make me British? Am I really a Muslim? How can I be a Muslim if I don't practice the faith and live a haram life? How can I not be considered a Muslim if my personal records have my religion formally written as Islam?
Just some thoughts all of us pretty much go through, some consider themselves totally british others not so much. I, like many others are stuck in the middle. If you're white it's something you just wouldn't have experienced but maybe you can understand

DeliriousGnome - Yes, because a name can't be changed. Because a convert is always going to change their name. There are plenty of 'English' Muslims around also.
I think it's a little unfair to expect someone to be aware of every facet of a situation, especially when it happened outside of their 'little corner of the earth', but I do find it funny, how he tries so hard to ignore all the actual examples of concentrated, consistent abuses that come from 'Islamic communities' around the world.
      1400+ Young girls in Rotherham,
Fuck only knows how many in Telford, Birmingham, London, Cologne, etc.
Now I'm not tarring all Muslims as anything, neither moderate, or, extreme. But Islam IS a savage ideology, in so much as the Christians and Catholics etc. had once been, at the end of the day, if a nation wants to make beastiality legal, in another country; I couldn't care less. Just don't presume to tell me how I should be living my life. Do that, and we might aswell just call a crusade now because you'll have to kill me before I conform. Btw, that's not meant to be a threat, merely a statement of my conviction and determination to stand by the ideals, principles and morals that I hold onto.
I still like this 'series'(?), it's interesting to hear the stories that others have to tell and I'm always willing to listen to reasonable discourse. I am not perfect and have never claimed to be; though I think everyone deserves points for trying to be better at the very least.
