Collage is my favorite thing but I want to get better at layering. This really helped me. 1) use your scraps 2) don’t glue until the end 3) use similar colors and tones 4) don’t use too much of similar patterns 5) start with a focal point and bring attn to it 6,7) embellish: fabric & ribbon scraps, junk, ephemera, words/phrases, journaling, tuck spots, brads, clips, etc.
Rachel, I'm a new subbie and love all your little tips n tricks! Watching you work this piece, I thought, it's much to small a piece for her to really show us much, but you nailed it! You really taught me that no matter what size your working, you can always jazz it up with more interest! No matter how small the pieces. Brilliant! Thank you.
Thank you so much Rachel for all your junk journal tutorials. I am brand new to junk journaling and I had no idea how to start or how to do anything, how to print ephemera or journaling cards and so on. After watching your channel I have a much better understanding of how to go about making a journal!
Layering and collage are two of my favorite forms of artistic expression, you do such a beautiful job. The tip about gluing from the top down...definitely a game changer! Tfs! 💜
Hi Rachel I finely got to watch a video, and comment. Very nice piece. I do love making these they are tons of fun. I always wonder what someone will some some day when they find these journals what we were doing. They may think there were a lot of poor people around because of all the junk we had in them and old stuff at that. Lol😊😊😊
Thats funny to imagine what people will think! I always think about what do we use now that people will love in the future because 'its so vintage and cool'
Oh don’t get me wrong I love all the old vintage things we use. I hope they think we were useful in our crafting and live what we made. But 100 years down the road who knows what they will think. I watch a lot of abandon videos and always see the things that have been left behind and always wonder about the people who own them.
All over the place lol! I have a video of my craft room which I'll link but all those little tubs that I showed live on my craft desk.... ruclips.net/video/OBjQL25JMqU/видео.html
