For .52 Gal, it’s just: Oh hey, there’s a person. *Turns the camera for less than a second and splats an opponent* Like, WOW! YOU’RE SO GOOD AT THE GAME! The Gloogas share some foundational assets with 52, but are extremely different. It's like comparing Dual Squelcher to Dualie Squelchers: similar weapons with key differences that give them a unique playstyle.
I can see a decent amount of comparison between the 2 weapons, but as stated “why isn’t the glooga meta while the .52 is” is a VERY clear sign that whoever is trying to make the argument in the first place is trying to convince a literal splash wall that these 2 weapons are the same And as someone who FACED AND PLAYED both of the weapons there’s NO WAY that these things should EVEN BE CONSIDERED to be the same BECAUSE glooga I feel is closer to the midline of the .96 while maintaining the aggro of the .52 due to its ironically reduced mobility.

People talk about range a lot and these discussions typically focus on painting lines or how far away from a dummy you have to be to hit in the training range. What often gets overlooked is effective range, and mobile range. Relevant to the .52 gal/glooga discussion is their mobile ranges. You make a point in the video that .52 and gloogas range difference isn't that different. But it goes further. Considering the mobility of a .52 being able to both strafe and swim with little penalty, that in effect gives .52 a longer range than gloogas, which are locked in place while at their most dangerous. People making the range argument have it backward. .52 gal has better range than glooga dualies
I would disagree. If we were comparing, say, .52 and Squelchies then yes, Squelchies' sphere of influence stretches about the same distance into enemy turf as .52's does because they have to stay further back, lest their low firepower is exploited. But Gloogas come with same explosive firepower as .52 on top of their roll, so they have a lot of freedom in terms of range. Gloogs' entire gameplan is to roll out of somewhere the opponents can't hit them and into somewhere where they can hit the opponent, be it punishing overextending opponents with super defensive 3 lines into your turf, jumpscaring someone point blank right on the frontline or outright overextending yourself to rob their backliner blind while THEY are 3 lines into their turf. They largely don't care about what the opponent has to say because chances are, Gloogas outgun them, so their effective sphere of influence is rivalled only by the likes of Jet Squelcher.

for the .52 gals range, it paints more per bullet also so thats why it seems to have very similar range. its like the splash nerf it got awhile ago, i think it would've been better to test the range it can attack from rather than paint. because both weapons are not painters
I will say, just looking at the two weapons' stats and whatnot and how much is similar or even sometimes identical, not to mention what kit it got, it does seem to me that Nintendo intentionally designed the Gloogas to be a kind of dualie version/equivalent of the .52 Gal, or at least, of _a_ Gal weapon. But general design concepts still doesn't change how in practice, no, the weapon is NOT "literally the same" nor is it remotely as easy and broken as K52 was at all, and so the argument is still pointless.

As someone who currently mains 52 Gal and has a love and hate relationship with the weapon, I agree that it’s far more stronger and easier to use than Gloogas.
Yeah the Gloogas are technically like 52 gal once you do an ink-hungry dodge roll and end up in an unmovable state if you want to keep the 2-shot damage. 52 always has the 2-shot and can strafe with it, unlike gloogas.
Their effective range difference is a whole range bracket apart .52 is a regular 2-liner, the little bit more falloff it has is just so it has the same effective range as Zap with its 20 spare damage as opposed to .52's 4. Meanwhile Gloogas are 2.5-line unrolled (meaning they can outspace 2-liners without rolling which is occasionally useful, particularly against .52), and juuust shy of 3 lines rolled (and that "just shy" only really hurts it in one singular matchup, against Squelchies, the only thing that can challenge both Gloogs' mobility and range at once). With their range on top of burst movement, Gloogas' ability to aggressively chase people down on flat ground has few peers, and if the enemy doesn't have a big gun to threaten you on the field they can have an almost splatling-like defensive prescense as well. .52 can't do either of that, its range and movement are pretty standard, it doesn't get to skip the neutral like Gloogas can. But it is one of the best guns at said neutral, and unlike Gloogas can handle any terrain, while Gloogas specifically need flat open spaces with available cover to work. Gloogas are not as much .52 as they are a more extreme .96 Gal, 3-liner with deceptively good mobility outside of combat but mostly stationary and grounded stance when shooting. .96 is nominally a midliner but it loves fighting up close and personal, it has both firepower and mobility to do it, and the closer it is the less its poor accuracy matters. Gloogs also paint pretty well when rolled. Not as much as .52, but still decent, around the same as big Gal which is a pretty good inker.
These people are really forgetting how absolutely dominant in Splatoon 2. Honestly this has been more of a problem lately, people are just forgetting how strange splatoon 2 was and then try to claim it’s better than 3.
it’s like in fighting games when some guy goes “man x fighting game was the goat, they don’t make games like that anymore” except they’ve never played it and the reason they “don’t make games like that anymore” is an actual good reason. I hope stingray comes back for April fools to show people that splatoon 2 was not the perfect game
Thinking about how to make Gloogas similar to k52 a truly valid take: Give Gloogas slides (like VDS) Give Gloogas at least 48 damage on spread shots Give Gloogas better paint (better ink consumption and better paint splatter size) :)
The person who started this whole thing thinks range is a hard weapon at low level and when a creep got outed, they just wrote it off as "drama" and nothing else. There's not much else to expect from a person like that.
I never noticed people compared them, I just think they’re similar with the way the ink shoots out and how they kinda rely on the “stronger and slower” mechanic, but Gloogies (yes… I call them that sometimes) have dodge rolls and I think accuracy and painting differences. I think they claim they’re the same because they *feel* similar.
Whoever thinks .52 Gallon and Kelvin 525(aka Gloogas) are the exact same, all I have to say is "HOW?! IN WHAT UNIVERSE?!" If anything, .96 Gallon and Kelvin are more alike than 52. Even then I can tell there are OBVIOUS differences between 96 and Kelvin.
They aren't the same at all. They just have similar roles amongst their weapon classes. Because of this, they often would have some of the same synergy with the same kits. But in reality, the Kelvins are no more the .52 Gal, then the Douser Dualies are the Squeezer. Most of similarities just come from Shooters and Dualies being similar weapon classes.
People probably think that the Glooga's 2 shot is the same 12 frames time to kill as 52 (which was tied for the fastest ttk in S1 alongside Carbon and Luna, while Carbon's ttk was buffed to 11 frames in S2) due to their very similar damage numbers, but I'm pretty sure Glooga's velocity, alongside the fact that they are programmed with Splatoon 2's shot physics instead of S1's, means that Glooga kill slower by a fair bit
One is a shot, the other is a dualie. I could leave it at that and I would win the argument that they're different full stop. They play different, they feel different, they ARE different. Stop it! Gloogas are ment to be the heavy version of the dualie class, that's it.
I was thinking the only similarities are the kits and the fire rate, but anything else is really just exaggerated. ...then again, I never played Splatoon 2, so make of my opinion as you will.
I'm somehow between you and the ppl saying they're the same. I think glooga IS supposed to be a dualie version of the Gal, but for some reason Nintendo just forgot to buff it. I think glooga is the nerfed version of gal, cuz they're obviously supposed to be some kind of cousins but something went wrong (the answer is Nintendo)
Personally, They aren't the same. Maybe sharing some traits but doesn't always conclude to being the same. I've been maining Glooga's, around the beginning of Splatoon 3. My overall play style and decisions have altered throughout the years. Imo, Nogami should give Glue the .52 treatment but without making it broken, but highly unlikely.
i finally got to try glooga during random weapons and i swear if i didnt watch u play tetra a lot while also playing it myself that game would've gone horribly for my performance while i picked 52 bc i got tilted at a splatfest and started violence immediately...unfortunately i only play n-zap for shooters so i will not become evil
dude its not even close K52 IS AND WILL BE THE MOST BROKEN THING IVE SEEN IN THAT GAME a mobile ranged tank that has a panic button and 2 shots to kill bruh
So like I just wanna say. With all thise stats, you can do WAY MORE THINGS with K52 than Glooga. Why is the better mobility important ? Cause 52's playstyle plays around that strafe speed and the consistent two shot effectively. Why is the fact it can paint better important ? Cause it can get more booyah so it can adapt its playstyle in way more occasion (more booyah's = more opportunities to go in)
This videos existence is really funny to me as while i get that the 52 and gloogas are definitely different ive been calling the gloogas "the 52 dualies" even in since splatoon 2. Half for the memes and half because i just really hate fighting both of them similarly (atleast when the glooga has wall)
im on your side but reasons its not played as much learning curve kit speed as compared to other midlines gal is more flexible as a weapon glooga would win maybe more fights than gal with perfect mechanics
.52 Gal is such a better main weapon than Glooga Dualies that even with a weaker special with wail, 52 in S3 is still picked more and hated than either glooga kit, gal with a wall is just that ridiculous
Realistically though most Dualies function similarly to specific shooters with glooga being a mirror of the gals but is just weaker for no reason. Same with Douser as it's the only one that has a similar range to jet squelcher but its paint and range are just worse. That's not to say that dualies are just worse shooters as the splat dualies and Tetras are both way stronger main weapons and Dapple and Dualie Squelcher are stronger than the shooters they're most similar to even if they still aren't in the best spots

Thanks chase I think I got lucky with the age restrictions cause I’m exactly 15 Plus I really enjoy your videos you’re better at flick turns than me on certain weapons like Dualies.
@luigipie5402 well the main weapons just serve similar roles. They're both short range slayers with super good mobility, although sploosh mobility is better. Sploosh is just generally preferred because its kits are better than dapples as well
There's no particular reason for it, it just is. Tri Slosher is the same. The fact that these weapons can fire while strafing forward contributes to it
Everything you're saying is true, but it's not for a lack of trying by the development team. If you look at the Inkipedia page you mentioned, you'll see that the Glooga Dualies have gotten nothing but buffs since they came out as far as the main weapon goes. The .52 Gal is still the vastly superior weapon, but the Gloogas are actually in a much better state then when they were first released
52 only became the monster it is now after a billion of unnecessary buffs. If they do that to Glooga, a comparison would be fair, but right now, the weapons are VERY different. I think Glooga is in a fine spot, but 52 needs some paint, range & ink efficiency nerfs.
Weapon that punishes walk and shoot gets hate from walk and shoot players. And it MIGHT be top tier now despite being high tier throughout the entirety of the game

I hope stingray comes back for April fools to show people that splatoon 2 was not the perfect game
when I first heard about this topic, the first thought that came in my mind was "in what universe?" like, I hope gloogas will never be like the 52!
It's not the same. Because I use the Kensa Gal alot in Splatoon 2. But when I try the Glooga in Splatoon 3, it doesn't really work for me.
Thinking about how to make Gloogas similar to k52 a truly valid take:
Give Gloogas slides (like VDS)
Give Gloogas at least 48 damage on spread shots
Give Gloogas better paint (better ink consumption and better paint splatter size)
:)
The person who started this whole thing thinks range is a hard weapon at low level and when a creep got outed, they just wrote it off as "drama" and nothing else. There's not much else to expect from a person like that.
To be fair they did take back calling that "drama" and owned up to that
There are other people who compared these weapons long before. The topic just resurged recently
@@nimroddafny7125 I did not know that, my bad
@@Chase247 that is true yea, but the reason its brought back up again is because of them, they said it themself so
As an Ex .52 main and a current Gloogas main, I can say these are nowhere near the same.
obviously they are not the same. but the coincidences are a little frightening…
IN WHAT UNIVERSE?!"
If anything, .96 Gallon and Kelvin are more alike than 52.
Gloogas are honestly at the level 52 Gal SHOULD be at.
They're basically a balanced version of that shooter.
I’m a glooga main and yea it feels like the dualie version of 52. Not sure what the argument is here

Chase: Avid 52. Gal hater
Me: at least I am not alone in this opinion
Also I hate using 52. gal
It’s crazy how the only thing similar is the kit… and that’s it.
Your friend Hydro said on his weapons requests stream after the Springfest that the Glooga Dualies paints like the 52 Gal.
One is a shot, the other is a dualie. I could leave it at that and I would win the argument that they're different full stop. They play different, they feel different, they ARE different. Stop it! Gloogas are ment to be the heavy version of the dualie class, that's it.
Gonna steal one from Itachi’s book…
“There’s no hope left for this pathetic clan.”
You’re the only splatoon RUclips who doesn’t have a rage inducing voice
Admittedly, when I want to play Gloogas, I think "dualie 52's". XD
But 52 is definitely way easier to play than Gloogas.
i finally got to try glooga during random weapons and i swear if i didnt watch u play tetra a lot while also playing it myself that game would've gone horribly for my performance
while i picked 52 bc i got tilted at a splatfest and started violence immediately...unfortunately i only play n-zap for shooters so i will not become evil
You're an absolute menace. Thanks for the peak content 😮
dude its not even close K52 IS AND WILL BE THE MOST BROKEN THING IVE SEEN IN THAT GAME a mobile ranged tank that has a panic button and 2 shots to kill bruh
One is good & One is bad
I don’t play gloogas OR 52 that much, and I know that they are completely different weapons
Gloogas are a .52 that’s more balanced (even if Gloogas themselves need buffs) & actually require skill to use.
Half for the memes and half because i just really hate fighting both of them similarly (atleast when the glooga has wall)
youre right, chase.
theyre not the same.
THE WEAPON IN THE THUMNAIL IS THE VANILLA 52 GAL
I literally say in the video that the vanilla 52 gal applies to this too...
im on your side but reasons its not played as much
learning curve
kit
speed as compared to other midlines
gal is more flexible as a weapon
glooga would win maybe more fights than gal with perfect mechanics
I have been using gloogas more often
.52 Gal is such a better main weapon than Glooga Dualies that even with a weaker special with wail, 52 in S3 is still picked more and hated than either glooga kit, gal with a wall is just that ridiculous
Any other main: Glooga and Gal are the same
Glooga Dualies and .52 Gal players: worst enemies >:(
Hi Chase I’m the video I got to the part about the discord so is the discord available to anyone that want to join the discord or is it only for members? Also I love watching your anarchy battles they are amazing.
Oops sorry I meant to say IN the video I wasn’t in this one so sorry if you get the confusion
Anyone can join as long as you're 15+ years old
Thanks chase I think I got lucky with the age restrictions cause I’m exactly 15
Plus I really enjoy your videos you’re better at flick turns than me on certain weapons like Dualies.
There are kids that think gloogas are the same as 52??? Thats funny
Who’s trying to make this argument? Its so stupid🤣 I can say as a fellow dualie main, glooga (or kelvin 525) is so much harder then .52
man if only i knew what this game was.
No one compares dapples to sploosh or splat dualies to splash o Matic so why compare them
People actually do compare sploosh and dapples a lot lol especially back in s2
@@Chase247 oh what were similar about them in 2?
@luigipie5402 well the main weapons just serve similar roles. They're both short range slayers with super good mobility, although sploosh mobility is better. Sploosh is just generally preferred because its kits are better than dapples as well
Wish you had elaborated on how the .52 Gal’s range is deceptive. What’s the reason for that?
There's no particular reason for it, it just is. Tri Slosher is the same. The fact that these weapons can fire while strafing forward contributes to it
Everything you're saying is true, but it's not for a lack of trying by the development team. If you look at the Inkipedia page you mentioned, you'll see that the Glooga Dualies have gotten nothing but buffs since they came out as far as the main weapon goes. The .52 Gal is still the vastly superior weapon, but the Gloogas are actually in a much better state then when they were first released
Now isn’t that interesting. I just picked up .52 because I thought is was so similar to gloogas.
One of the biggest difference is that the .52 gal requires .52 seconds to get good with it
Chase!! I IUST SAW YOU 40 SERIES WIN STREAK IS CRAZY GOD TIER
Hahaha gg
i mean, they both do 52 damage
Well TECHNICALLY gloogas are 52.5
@@Chase247 😅 i was testing you
52 only became the monster it is now after a billion of unnecessary buffs. If they do that to Glooga, a comparison would be fair, but right now, the weapons are VERY different. I think Glooga is in a fine spot, but 52 needs some paint, range & ink efficiency nerfs.
I AM A CERTIFIED 52 GAL HATER 🔊🔊🔥🔥
Broo... idk who thinks their the same 😂 but for the people who do, good luck answering that question, why is 52 meta and gloogas aren't?
There’s no way 52 players think they’re good right
I agree. Some randoms named “Jackpot” or something won a tournament with 52. Clearly they are carried by the weapon.
If anyone seriously beleives this they need to play splatoon 2 again I swear 😭
What a stupid comparison someone didnt play either weapon, also I don't understand the 52 hate, To me the hate is similar the Blaster and Nautilus bs
Weapon that punishes walk and shoot gets hate from walk and shoot players. And it MIGHT be top tier now despite being high tier throughout the entirety of the game
u said it urself, “a small group of people…”
im not sure how many people actually think this, but i feel like this video is because a few dudes were just talking in a discord server. correct me if im wrong
theres always those few ppl who are just so vocal about their bad takes.. personally its tiring paying them attention
nah there was like a whole movement about it on twitter lmao. but honestly i just talked about it cause its good/funny content
Since when are these two weapons the same? One is a dualie the other one is not. That argument makes no sense.
LMAOOOO I LOVE CAUSING THIS
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
wowzers
Tbf it's not just you lol I've seen people compare them before
where's waldo has been preparing me for this moment for years
Note: Please don’t take this too seriously. See this comment as one from a random person you just saw on RUclips who cares way too much about a virtual gun in a game about fish shooting each other. If you disagree with what I’m saying here, then just ignore me please. :P
Also TW: Opinions :0
.52 Gal isn’t a good weapon. It’s the dumbest weapon that has ever existed. Please don’t get me started on this weapon’s design. That’s going take me an hour to type.
I DESPISE IT SO. MUCH. IF YOU USE THIS WEAPON PLEASE STOP AND GO USE SOMETHING THAT TAKES SKILL TO USE.
…
Okay. Just, please don’t use this weapon. It annoys so many people. Not just me. There are so many other weapons in this game that are very similar to the .52 Gal that require more precision and skill and are still fun to use.
I will say this about the weapon’s design: people are always saying that Clash Blaster is a skill-less weapon, but for that weapon you need to at least keep shooting at someone for a long time until you actually get to kill them. For .52 Gal, it’s just: Oh hey, there’s a person. *Turns the camera for less than a second and splats an opponent* Like, WOW! YOU’RE SO GOOD AT THE GAME! Good job at killing that guy without even trying! :D And you can compare it to stuff like Dynamo Roller. That weapon has a ton of startup and endlag when shooting and does less damage in the same time as .52 Gal would.
I just don’t want people to use this weapon, when there’s so many other things to use that are way more fun and actually require skill. I also just don’t like Shooters in general. They’re way too boring and only a few of them require precision and skill.
To be honest these are two great put not skillish
woo new video 1 minute ago
already love it
