Love it! I like how your next capture name is still IceCream hehe. As Stephen mentioned there's museum putty, but also museum wax, museum clear gel, dental wax, and clear glue dots.
Very nice! very teaching. With videos like these and a little of common sense we can deduce how to approach different lighting situations in the future. Thank you for sharing! Greetings from Miami Beach!
And sometimes you fix that product into perfect position, after messing around a lot of time, and then perhaps need to take multiple stacked shots (reflecting for different parts)... and you gently touch some part of the rig... and the product moves. And you start again :)
@@botvidsson stacking with photoshop I found out the image looks good at simple sight, but when you zoom in you can see is a disaster, that I have lost texture in some part of the image. By the way adobe's new policy make me go the bathroom every time I launch the app!
Hi Martin! Great video! Couple of things - to get the rings (or whatever you might be shooting) to stay, I use Museum Putty to temporarily hold items. Works well, leaves no residue, and is not permanent. You might see if this is something worthwhile for you? Regarding focus stacking - what's your method for doing this? Do you chart this out as you go or plan ahead? Do you pick points along the subject and along the plane or..? I've done very little focus stacking (mainly landscapes) with moderate success but would like to know more on how you do it on such a small scale? Thank you again for the video! Cheers!
Hi Stephen! Museum Putty, I guess that's like Blu Tack? I have it but I just couldn't find it. Thanks for the tip. I will do a member video on the post production, I can include and explain how I think around the focus stacking. Coming soon...
I can't believe, Martin, that you handle jewelry items without a glove on! You should be punished by community work as a kindergarten's photographer for six months. 😆😆😆😆😆😆
@@botvidsson Of course, Martin. I always knew that you're not real, that you're a CGI 3D image created by Google algorithms. That's why your left ear is twitching from time to time. Because of the connectivity issues with some of Google's cache servers. 😆😆😆😆😆

beautiful classy mono shot, nice lighting ... miss this kinda tutorial from you ❤
@@indraiwan8029 thanks a lot
Yes!!! Getting s - - - to stick and not move. That is the mark of a true product photographer hehe. Another great shoot Martin, thank you man!
Thanks man!

Haha, I need to shape up. It's chaos in the photo library...
I have Blu tack but I just couldn't find it. Thanks
@@botvidsson I do the same thing! hehe I never tried blu tack, I'll check it out.

GAAAAH! :) Yes, you know the feeling... :)
Excellent! This is totally botvidsson style! 😉
Indeed it is! Thanks my friend!
Great video as usual. Please make the editing and post production video
Thanks! I might create a post-production video, but unfortunately, it will only be available to members. Sorry about that.
Very well explained and executed. Do you use CaptureOne to combine the focus stack images?
@@vperalta no, I use Helicon focus or Photoshop l. Thanks a lot 🙏🏻

Just stack grids 10 and 20. Or 10 and 10
Never tried that, probably cuz it will be cheaper to buy a Profoto 5:r 😁👍🏻

Jewelry without gloves? It’s called bonding. 😂 Remember, this is not real - it's RUclips... 😁
