FYI if you want to make applesauce, there is no need to prep any differently than you do for juicing. Just put the steamed apple pieces into your food mill and crank it. Seeds, stems and peel are retained in the screen, and the applesauce is ready to can. Saves so much time, AND tastes great.
I saw this kind of juicer for the first time recently,. It was great to see it in action! I didn’t realize it could be used for tomatoes - that is awesome!
Just and FYI...Becky from Acre Homestead had a wheelbarrow full of Asian pears in her house that she brought in from her garden. She peeled them to make sauce and instead of throwing out the peels, she juiced them and according to her, it came out great. So, apparently, just using the peels is sufficient using apples and pears. I just ordered one.
I have owned one for many years. My favorite use is for steaming prickly pear fruit and making grandma's jelly. I also love it for pomegranate juice. Have fun with it.
Hi I'm new here. I have one of these too. You might want to add lots more water to the bottom pan. If you run out it can make a burnt taste in your juice. God bless
If you put your steamed fruit/veg through a food mill/strainer, you dont have to ever peel or seed your produce. I have processed tpmatoes and ended up with juice and tomato paste, The juice lookd strange, but the taste is pure essence of tomato. I usually put the tomato pulp on dehydrator sheets and make roll-ups which I can tear up and use in soups, etc. When my kida were home, I would spice them up and they loved them for snacking. Berries yield juice and the leftovers are dried and put in oatmeal, desserts, bread--wherever you want a touch of fruitiness. I haven't done many vegetables, but they are on my 'experimental' list. Plus, the seeds and peels are a treat for chickens, etc.
Hi Debbie. Yes you do lose some of the nutrients and this is for long term storage. We have the old Jack LaLane juicer for raw with fiber. Praying you are well!
My instructions say to fill water an inch from top. Dont want it to boil dry. Love mine!
This is excellent excatly the information I needed . New subscriber from Ireland xxxx

oh my....Yum
Annette...Hubs has already made his way through what I put in fridge...delish gal.
The only juicer I've used is the kind that grinds up the fruit/vegetables to extract the raw juice. Does steaming remove any of the nutrients?

I save the apple peelings and cores to make apple juice in my steam canner
Yay!!!❤️❤️❤️
You can also make jelly with the juice from, grapes, apples, etc.,that it makes.

If I’ll the water cavity til just u deer the lip, so I don’t worry about the water steaming out
Naw
I can right out of the juicer, without the hot water bath, so simple. Don't have much luck with the reusable lids.
I’ve never tried reusable lids. Not not if they are effective or not. Thank you for watching us!
Lehmans Carries made in the USA lids
How long will the juice last if you dont hot water bath it please? This is exactly the question I have been searching for to get answered!!
Jill, youve been dressed like my mom all day. She was a member of the Texas Rangers Womens Assoc. and youve got the same uniform on 😂🤣😂🤣👍🇺🇸🖖
