    Randy, please stop addressing the haters by mentioning them and giving them validity. Please stop! Ignore them. It’s not helping the brand that you’re trying to build for yourself. You give some of the most valuable bass fishing info I’ve found and I want you to succeed. However every time you mention them it gives them power and validation.
    We’re of different generations but I’m not exactly a spring chicken myself and technology is a new world to me. That being said, treat bullies (in digital) the same way. Don’t give them the time of day. Don’t acknowledge them because when you do they become more fierce and try to control you more. Ignore and dismiss and they go away.
    Difference is in the current digital world you may defeat one bully (that will probably loose interest and move on) but nowadays there’s a million more bullies to follow. Please stop giving them validity.
    Just my two cents. Love you and your content and it’s much appreciated. Just wish you could find a way to let it go. I think you should. Not for me but for yourself. You give up the juice but you’ll never satisfy everyone. You just can’t. That’s definitely 100% impossible.

    The biggest problem I have is with the slight "TIC" I usually see my line move before I feel the bite. I'm learning the "FEEL"...

    • @Milehighsnake98

      I had that problem for a long time. Then I spent a 12 hour night tournament fishing a jig all night. You can't see the line so you have no choice but to feel it. I used to like fishing a jig. Not love, because it was so slow moving and feel was a difficult thing. I will say, that night tournament was the first time I ever used my first high end rod. I finally understood what a light jig bite feels like after that.

    From my experience, I agree with first two. Last one, not so much. If I'm using slower bottom contact baits, I will never let a fish swim off with the bait, unless I want to have fresh bass for dinner because the fish will be gut hooked. I find that once I feel the initial bite, I do a quick check and if fish is still there, I set the hook. I rather miss a hook set than gut hook fish. Just my take.

    Randy you are such a great teacher. These are the real diamonds out of your video's, not sexy or flashy, but fundamentals and technique. This is one of the most important skills to develop if you want to be a better than average angler IMO. Now I by no means have mastered any of these but I have thought about this stuff alot and I am glad you brought this up(big trip tomorrow ) because its been a while since Ive focused on this. My hook up ratio has really went up over the past 2 years but I can always get better. Thanks Randy.

    Great tips once again Randy! I intentionally use mono and a medium fast on my poppers so I have some line stretch and a little load in the rod so I don’t instantly rip the lure away from the fish…. This seemed to help me due to my impatience and not having the ability to wait sometimes🤣

      That’s exactly right brother. And it’s never the same either. The bite is going to be different from day to day or place to place. But all you can do is go out there and fish. I’ve been fishing for years but I just recently got heavy into fishing a jig a couple years ago. I didn’t fish them often before because I didn’t know how. I took 4 rods on a weekend trip. Tied up 4 different jigs on each rod and that’s all I fished all weekend. A jig. That’s it. After that weekend I was so so so confident with a jig.

    With the exception of topwaters, where I turn my vision to the line upon a strike and wait until the bow in my line moves before setting the hook. But back in the day, I think it was John Powell, who used to say that the first tap you feel is the bass sucking in the worm, the second tap is the bass spitting the worm out, and the third tap was him tapping you on the shoulder to tell you that you waited too long to set the hook.

    Thanks for all the great info! I use a 4 inch Zman Diesel Minnow for LM Bass, Peacock Bass and Snook here in FL. I rig it Texas Style with a very light weight.....1/16 oz. I swim this bait on the surface through pads, floating vegetation and sticks. But when I find an open area or an edge, I slow roll it in 2 to 4 feet of water. Most of my bites come as I am just slowly reeling it in like a swim bait with some added action as I retrieve it. I have a lot of success with this lure but there are times that I am missing bites for whatever reason. So, even though it is a soft plastic......... it is hard for me to pause and let the fish take the bait a bit because I am moving it.

    Good video....but sometimes if I'm using a soft plastic worm texas rigged and wait too long after a bass bites it....the bass winds up swallowing it deep. There is definitely a certain amount of time and or footage to wait before setting the hook.... That magic number is hard to figure out. I think it depends on how aggressive the fish is and maybe the size of the fish. Each fish is different as far as the setting period. 😊

    I'll fish all afternoon with 15 lb Seagur Invisx, then when I switch to my senko rig that has 7lb Sunline Sniper which is a lot smaller diameter compared to everyone else, I'll still hit them with the Roland Martin hookset and break the first one off. It's become a tradition at this point. Other anglers must love me for leaving them trokar hooks in their next catches.

    • @dip30ful
      @dip30ful 3 года назад

      Use 15lb braid to a 2 foot under 10 lb mono leader. The slight stretch in a short length of mono will help with breaking off. Fluro is great but to delicate to burning up when tying. Easy to turn 20lb fluro into 2lb breakig strength.

    • @twiggsherman3641
      @twiggsherman3641 3 года назад

      @@dip30ful I use 8 lb slick v2 to a 7 lb sunline sniper fluoro. Sunline has much smaller diameter compared to other brands, so its breaking strength is much closer to its listed strength. I use it on purpose because its practically invisible due to the fluoro and the diameter. The problem is I'll spend all day jacking them on jigs, then keep the same lip ripping hookset when I switch to a neko or wacky rig. The problem is me not being focused enough.

    • @dip30ful
      @dip30ful 3 года назад

      @@twiggsherman3641 makes sense. I got tired of breaking off fluro so switched to 8lb braid to 2 foot 4lb copolymer leader or straight 4 lb high viz mono which got my biggest bass of 6.2 lb. I dont care to much about line visibility. Due to #1 being 4lb line #2 if bass see big metal spoons, inline spinners, and spinnerbait and still bite then I think it's marketing woo-hoo to sell $20 line vs $5 mono or copolymer.

    • @twiggsherman3641
      @twiggsherman3641 3 года назад

      @@dip30ful I think it depends on how pressured the fish are. But I agree, I don't think fluoro is as invisible as they say it is, which is why I'm also concerned about the line diameter.

    Living in Texas there is a lot of grass. During these summer months those bass will pull up there. Can you talk about heavy weight flipping details? What knot you use. And one of my biggest issues is knowing how to rig my soft plastic. Hook will either get ripped out after a few flips or hook will penetrate throw the plastic and always get hung up on grass. So maybe I’m using the wrong bait. So which do you use? Also are their certain spots you are looking for in a flipping area? Or is it more about quantity over quality?

    • @walkeronegaming

      A palomar knot or even a uni with heavy braid will never break. Assume you're texas rigging your bait, try a slimmer craw like a rage bug or something. If you're ripping the plastic off the hook, maybe try a flipping jig with the weed guard?
