    One small mistake in the video.
    The Paladin's Necrolord covenant spell, Vanquisher's Hammer, doesn't actually require 1 holy power to use.
    It has been that way since launch, it required 1 holy power throughout all of beta but it got stealth changed on release to not require 1 holy power.
    Altough even with it generating 1 holy power in 9.0.5 it'll still be the worst for pretty much all Paladin specs.

  • @Eyrot1995
    @Eyrot1995 3 года назад +10

    Necrolord warrior here, there actually is another issue with the ability in the form of its glory system.
    To generate glory, you need to use rage. Seems reasonable. Until you realise its 20 rage per stack on arms or prot.
    The same cost of slam and execute baseline.
    Above 20/35% enemy hp means, unless you also use ignore pain in your rotation (a dps loss) needs you to cast slam 20 times IF you have the conduit.
    All for a crit damage boost. A buff for a secondary stat warriors don't use as much compared to mastery and haste.
    Though, an extra bonus for the reword, three infact.
    One:banner is strapped to your back. You bring the buff with you.
    Two: Rage per second generation.
    Three: on arms, the mastery boost is approx 10% bonus mastery (in live, Atleast) so that means 10% bonus damage from our deep wounds.
    Feels like we may have a chance to rival the other covenant abilities.

    • @NoConsequenc3
      @NoConsequenc3 3 года назад

      It's very close to being good, but I feel like if it wants to be used it's gonna see it in M+ instead of anything else. Maybe... trash farming current raid lockouts?
      Like it can't be better than Condemn unless Condemn is nerfed into oblivion but I can see it being better than Spear of Bastion in terms of damage potential.
      Windfury Totem gives Arms Warrior a 7% increase in average damage, so stacking with your tank and an enhance might be neat

    Echoing Reprimand was pretty broken at the start of SL for Sub rogues in pvp and is still their 2nd best covenant across all specs trailing behind by only about ~50 dps on pve. It's actually a really fun ability that gives you a mini game to play during downtime in your rotation and, since you have 45 seconds to hit the combo point, is much easier to do than you'd expect. Outlaw is definitely the toughest to hit it but it's still very uncommon I can't find it in time.
    The venthyr rogue should be the one in it's place. The covenant sees no play and it's ability is very unintuitive for all specs without the numbers to back it up. It's actually being reworked for 9.0.5 like many of the other abilities on this list.

  • @arforafro5523

    I paused at second 0 and Venthyr Rogue better be here.
    EDIT: Why would Echoing be here but not Flagellation?. Echoing gives you FORTY FIVE seconds to cast a finisher move that fits your turbocharge and it also hits decently hard has a low cost and gets you one combo point. Outlaw would on the contrary probably be one of the easiest to hit the mark since their CP generation puts them all over the place and it shouldnt be hard for Sub or Sin either to use it on cooldown and being able to burn their charge.
    By comparison Flagellation places a 15 second long debuff on your target that REQUIRES you to tunnel that target if you want your finishers to proc lashings, doesnt proc on half your finishers, does mediocre damage (you need to get around 25 lashings to deal the same amount of damage as pressing Echoing on double the cooldown) AND you also need to manually reactivate it to get your haste buff which is NOT OFF THE GLOBAL COOLDOWN wasting one of your globals during your 15 second window. Then you get a 15% haste buff for 30 seconds. If you wanted to get the most out of Flagellation you would need to set up Slice and Dice before using it as it doesnt lash, line it up with all your cooldowns which might be the worst time to press a button that hits for less than a poison proc if you're playing sub, sin or using MotMA, tunnel the same target for 12~ish seconds, use another GCD to get your haste buff AND try to maintain 30 seconds of uptime afterwards to benefit from your long but small haste buff.
    Sepsis you can fit easily into your other cooldowns for burst, Echoing is easy to press on cooldown and you have a 45 second window to use your anima charge, Bone Spike you can fire and forget. But Flagellation needs you to previously set it up to line up your cooldowns with the debuff and afterwards you have to stay in range for 30 seconds meaning you have to plan a total of 45 seconds without boss mechanics messing you up if you dont get feared/stunned during the last few seconds of the debuff and cant reactjvate it losing your haste buff.
    This is why its getting a MASSIVE damage boost along with a duration decrease and automatically granting the haste buff when it expires and its very likely still going to be second to Sepsis.

    Surprisingly enough, Fae Guardians is actually the most powerful covenant ability for Shadow Priests. On paper it doesn't sound particularly good, but it lines up incredibly well on pretty much every fight in Castle Nathria and allows extra casts of Void Eruption on each fight. Also, as a DPS, the guardians themselves default either to you or to the most recent Shadow Word Pain target, making it still pretty reasonable to use. It also generates a small bit of insanity while it's active, which is a nice bonus in addition to the CDR.

    • @antoineguerrier2965
      @antoineguerrier2965 3 года назад

      It's also pretty good on Holy and works quite well with the spec's toolkit.
      Being able to move all 3 fairies without any cooldown is cool and when you have the conduit, you can keep the 6/10% damage reduction buffs on both tanks.
      After using it a bit, I've found that trying to use all 3 wasn't practical, but if you go into a "Guardian phase' with a goal in mind, it becomes much more usable. At the start of the fight, I don't really need the mana regen or the CD reduction, so I just slap the CD one on a DPS who's bursting and alternate the shield between the tanks while doing my rotation / healing.
      It coming with a blink / sprint ability makes Night Fae even better since mobility is one of the class' weak points.

    As a fae frost DK you get a option to cleave enemies really hard with obliteration build + high haste and I love it. It reminds me of sweeping strikes and outdamages frostscythes procs for 5 targets.
    and for single target you can pick diferentes talents and you will benefit dualwield giving you 1 additional stack per target hit (next patch you will get max stacks with 2 obliterates for dualwield or maximum stacks just for one obliterate striking a nearby enemy)
    For frost fae is currently the strongest option some content (except pvp) and the maximum DPS diference from the worst and best covenant is currently a 4% damage diference on single target for frost.
    On two targets fae frost damage will sky socket to the top and only adding more targets ventyr(breath build) and necrolord(the AoE is weak for it's CD but it will also vive you some rime procs) will get near it's power!

    I am a Necrolord Arcane Mage, and I am one of the top arcane mages (as far as raiding goes: Riskee - Zul'Jin). Deathborne helps Arcane where it typically has problems (cleave damage), while not sacrificing much ST damage (which arcane already excels at). To put this in perspective with Emeni you're only 0.38% behind on ST damage from Night Fae, whereas you are 7.48% ahead in 3 target cleave. You never take the conduit that extends the duration of Deathborne, but instead take the conduit that reduces the cooldown of Arcane Power every time an arcane missile hits. With this you have a 1.5 minute cool down on Arcane Power, lining Necrolord up with every other Arcane Power (and consequently lining up Arcane Power with every other Touch of the Magi). I can't speak to the weaknesses of Deathborne for fire or frost, but it is certainly not bad for arcane.
    Plus, you get to look like a Lich.

People also dont ignore the anima charged CP, you just dont really play around it but you still always hit it. Bit surprised venthyr and necrolord for rogue werent mentioned. Bonespike specifically is so bad that pressing it in aoe is a damage loss, and its the worst ability on ST

  • @fe9228
    @fe9228 3 года назад +1

    The kyrian rogue part is just flat out wrong. 1. The minigame really isn't that difficult to do, especially as outlaw or assassination. Even sub it's fairly easy, as you have 45 seconds to hit that specific CP value once and use a finisher then. 2. Not really math on the fly, and the only random CP generation is Shadow Techniques for sub, which can be played around, and Seal Fate for assassination. 3. Does not alter how you play the class. If you land on the cp value, use a finisher, otherwise just play normally. You only tend to lose dps if you try to force the animacharge cp. 5. Outlaw has the easiest time doing this. With broadside, you commonly finish at 4 cp (when not using Deeper Stratagem) or 6 cp with DS. When you finish at 4 cp, you only have an 80% chance of generating a cp off that finisher, so if you have 0 cp after finishing, 1 sinister strike will get you two 2 cp for the most difficult animacharge cp to hit. When you finish at 6 cp, you have a 20% chance to get 2 cp off of a finisher, and then you just finish again immediately if you have animacharge on 2. And, if you're really desperate to hit that correct cp value (which you shouldn't be this desperate really), you can always shiv during broadsides and only generate 1 cp to get to the correct value. Again, outlaw has no random cp generation because you can plan around broadside. 6. While you may get unlucky and have to ignore ~1 animacharged cp in a fight (because you shouldn't be changing your rotation just to hit it), saying to ignore all of them is again flat out wrong. 7. It's really not that annoying. 8. The only reason rogues use the conduit is because all the other rogue conduits are not great (outside of CTO). Final comments - worse off rogue covenants are easily venthyr in its current iteration or necrolord, kyrian started out as one of the most popular (if not the most popular) covenant due to its power in pvp. After it got nerfed in pvp only, some players went to night fae for the dps gains and soulshape, but overall kyrian is still a strong ability and by no means deserving of being one of the 10 worst abilities.

    Fae guardians is absolutely busted on Shadow, and that’s honestly the only reason you should take it; the ability was practically tailored for the shadow play style where you cast two non-standard rotation spells to move them around. The buff is annoying for discipline for exactly the reasons you’ve stated, but at the same time, it’s also saved my mana countless times in keys

Some of the anima powers include; a full energy refill +5 combo points, resetting the cooldown when you consume the charged combo point and the charged combo point counting as a 20 point finisher instead of 7.

    I'm surprised Shackle the Unworthy did not make it into this list. I think Death's Due is underrated for a good reason despite the fact that I use the ability in the most unorthodox means: it is a shadow of its former self and it has a history of its own to be one of the best covenant ability for Dks. Echoing Reprimand used to be able to global someone as a Rogue. The damage was great but after the nerf it got in PvP to oblivion, which was deserved so, has never really seen the light of day again.
    It is also important to note that Death's Due does not apply with Necrotic Strike and its conduit also not was able to apply with Defile. While the former will be fixed soon, the latter has been fixed. The fact that they gutted Death's Due's strength gain and functionality is while deserved from 15% to 8% strength gain as well as applying the buff and debuff on tick, making it GCD taxing is completely uncalled for.

Alright!" Then I noticed... it only follows one target at a time, and I have to keep hitting the thing in order to get mana. Great for cases where I only have to heal one target and only have one target to damage, but soloing rare mobs isn't hard enough to warrant this as a covenant choice.

The only time it's worth pressing is when there's 4 mobs or just before dumping MR as affliction. But since SR does more single target damage and has a faster cast time there's no reason to go Venthyr as affliction so really the only reason to use it is when there's a big pack of mobs to AOE down in mythic+.

    The current DH Fodder to the Flame it takes two throw glaive to kill the demon so that's TWO globals, which means you need to take the talent master of the glaive to get two charges of throw glaive. Then you have to find the soul to run by to pick up. So maybe 4 globals to get the buff from the demon soul. It's been terrible. I wish in 9.0.5 it wasn't a proc for the demon spawn but like night fae or venthyr a button to press so it can be timed with mobs. Kiss curse was last expac.

Duplicating Obliterate that has guaranteed critical strike and does Frost damage (bypassing armor) is awesome. I think it's the strongest cleave in game. The only problem is the short duration and rune starvation during it. Also the bad synergy, as Frost DKs don't benefit from Shadow damage that much, and the strength buff stacks can practically never be maxed. Both Shadow and Blood seem to benefit more from this ability in those aspects. But I just like my big cleaves.

    Kyrian Rogue is great and easy to use. It’s got the second highest representation behind Night Fae, and once you’re used to it you realize you don’t need to try to match the combo points. Just do your rotation and during the 45 second cooldown you’ll almost always match the combo points.
    I like the extra layer as an Outlaw Rogue and it can be incredibly powerful when used with Master Assassin in dungeons.
    I know people like to hate on rogue covenant abilities, but it doesn’t deserve to be on this list.
