  • EXCLUSIVE: We asked Raven how he would book Undertaker and Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 33. Obviously we now know the Undertaker lost to Reigns and essentially ended his career but it is interesting to explore other possibilities and outcomes. Raven is a man who had a short against the Undertaker back in 2000 and could have had an incredible feud with him had they crossed paths in ECW or WCW. So did WWE make the right decision by having Roman Reigns finish the Undertaker's career? Raven sat down exclusively with Title Match Wrestling over Wrestlemania 33 weekend in Orlando. This is just one clip of the full interview we conducted. Check back often to see the other parts.

    That's like when Goldberg had that winning streak going and Kevin Nash ( one of the writers and matchmakers at WCW at the time ) decided it was a good idea that he'd be the one to end the streak. I agree with Raven...The Undertaker should have retired with an undefeated record at Wrestlemania.

    • @nWoWolfpacTV2016
      @nWoWolfpacTV2016 7 лет назад +3

      Ozzie Edwards So The Undertaker's streak ended...I say big fucking deal because hindsight tells us it didn't effect his drawing power one iota. Kevin Nash was not a writer or a matchmaker when he ended Goldberg's undefeated streak. Vince Russo was the first writer in the history of the business; writers didn't exist in WCW at the time. Nash was merely an "idea man" on the booking committee which is something he had been doing unofficially for years prior. Both Nash & actual matchmaker at the time Kevin Sullivan are both on record saying WCW president Eric Bischoff made the decision to beat Goldberg. If that doesn't suffice Bischoff himself is on record claiming full responsibility for deciding Goldberg's streak should end. If Goldberg continued to squash everybody on the roster his run was over. Should the undefeated streak have lasted a little longer? Maybe, maybe not. Should Nash have been the one the end it? WCW was a political sharktank. If Nash didn't beat Goldberg, someone else would have. More than likely, Hogan. I disagree, Goldberg was hurt losing to Nash, especially in such a screwy way. If anything he regained the fans he'd lost. For those who claim Goldberg was damaged, I suggest you revisit footage in the months that followed because his crowd reactions indicate otherwise. Contrary to popular belief the facts i.e. numbers prove business trended upwards after Goldberg got beat. EVERYTHING I've just said, I've PROVED with substantiated evidence in videos I've made on my RUclips channels e.g. see my "Kevin Nash DID NOT book himself to end Goldberg's streak" video. “No one on the roster had more believability than Nash to defeat Goldberg, so I wouldn’t change that. This wasn’t a tough decision. We had run out of rope creatively. We couldn’t sustain Goldberg as a babyface champion who could never get beat. I wouldn’t change the controversial finish.” - Eric Bischoff (Sports Illustrated - 12/7/16)

      +Ozzie Edwards, Nope, not undefeated, but just retire with 1 loss. The tradition when you retire is to lose your final match as a passing of the torch. He should've retired after his 1st Wrestlemania loss to Lesnar then, in theory.

    I agree --- Streak should've never ended. I will always standby that Undertaker should've rode off into the sunset after WM28. A great showing in the HIAC with two of his greatest rivalries, and an even 20-0. That's a milestone. Sorry for all the Punk lovers out there, but 21-0 meant nothing.

      @HappyPants1988 wouldnt make sense since cena is taking a long break plus he is part time . imo when they ended the streak 2 years ago that would have been the time to make roman the guy to do it. but than again wwe had to run with brock since he was money for ufc before his drug failure. i feel like retiring 20 whatever and 2 kind of takes the shock away. i feel like 21-1 would have been the best send off had it been roman at that time

    I definitely agree with Raven, it could've went down a much different way but people love fucking up a good thing. Pro wrestling isn't a sport because of predictability, writers abd character's but it still deserves streaks, records and once in a lifetime legends like any other sport.

  • @ozzytyson735

    Raven's right on the money with this one. 'Taker's been THE foundation of the WWE roster for damn near thirty years. John Cena: 16 WWE title reigns. HHH: 14 title reigns. Randy Orton: 13. Even EDGE held the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship 11 times.Undertaker? SEVEN.The Streak was The Phenom's legacy. Having him drop The Streak to a part-timer who came back to WWE with so little in-ring talent he made fans stop complainong about Cena's "Five Moves of Doom" was simply idiotic. Now they've had him lose to Reigns at WM, and what have they done with it? Turned right around and had Reigns job to Strowman.WWE Creative are some of the biggest morons on the planet.

    In a perfect world, Kane should've beat and retired the undertaker. Then they could've used him once a year as the new unstoppable. But as we all know, they destroyed kanes character during his run as the tag team champions and the hugging bullshit. Ruined. Such a travesty.

    I agree with Raven and liken it to this. WWE ended up with an ocean with Undertaker's streak. They then drained it to make a Lake of Lesnar. Then they squeezed out what they could into a kid sized swimming pool for Roman Reigns and couldn't even fill that. They would've gotten more out promoting the strea, even after he retired, and reliving it on the Network than they have giving the rub to Lesnar, who didn't need it as a legit UFC champ and Reigns who just doesn't have "it".

      The Undertaker streak was becoming boring as shit. The apathy during Brock vs. Taker at WM 30 was very apparent & in my opinion It was because fans had been conditioned to believe the outcome of Taker matches at WM were a forgone conclusion. If Brock vs. Reigns I is anything like Brock vs. Reigns 2 it will be fucking awesome.

    • @nWoWolfpacTV2016
      @nWoWolfpacTV2016 7 лет назад

      King Possum Quite frankly, I think you're a moron for dissing the match. Seth Rollins ruined it because he turned something that suspended your disbelief was real into fake bullshit pro wrestling. Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns at WM 31 was everything I've been searching for since Scott Steiner vs. Bill Goldberg - the amateur wrestler vs. pro footballer. Two alpha male badasses, two legitimate HEAVYWEIGHTS, two legitimate athletes, two prize fighters...colliding in a believable, super stiff, slobberknocker with a BIG fight feel & making me suspend my disbelief in the process. Reigns selling was beautifully sympathetic, his hard hitting hope spots were exquisitely violent & the colour (blood) added to the drama of the match. It was an awe-inspiring, Battle of the Titans, spectacle between two badass characters with captivating presence. Undoubtedly The Beast Incarnate vs. The Big Dog was my 2015's match of the year. I can't wait for Lesnar vs. Reigns II & the cosmetically pleasing poster that will go along with it.
