    Last week I observed a lady mistakenly step on some hawker's machungwa. That hawker abused the lady hadi I offered to pay for the 'damage'. Dude took my sh200, but at least he let go the frightened passer-by

    This is one of the reasons i loved avoiding town.....the city has become a village market loosing its status and very chaotic

      @@lakishakathure2846 Just because huna kazi does not give you a free pass to commit impunity. Other CBD dwellers are also Kenyans na wako na shida zao pia. If you want to conduct business in CBD, rent nyumba na ulipe taxes kama wakenya wengine. La sivyo, you can hawk outside CBD.

    Also bwana Governor kindly order motorbikes to cease from riding on walkways,like that area of Serena,along Kenyatta avenue, let them use roads .

    Jana i walked to downtown Nbi, waah its chaos, nowhere to walk you can even get easily hit by cars or bodas... as in all sidewalks are taken up by traders; a matatu actually drove over some hawkers wares as i watched!

    Same Sakaja is building County container stalls on the same streets where the same hawkers occupy...hawker rents same stall and 20 customers are sitting on sidewalks sipping juice, uji power na kadhalika...talk of organizing to disorganize😂😂

    My friend it was long over due this city has become something else you cannot walk on the streets well coz there is no space and if you try hawkers insult you as though they own the streets pls they need to vacate like yesterday they are killing shop businesses too

    Bwana Sakaja, Nairobi City had been turned into a Hawkers Local Market. Hawkers sell everything everywhere. What a shame. Sakaja you promised Kenyans a better Nairobi. Now you have allowed Nairobi CBD to be turned into a Very Big Slum. Shame of a youthful Governor like you. Too Much Talk and no Tangible Action seen. That is Sakaja for Nairobians.     Dubious road is hell we r paying shop but we r not selling no parking for our cars when we need to offload our goods all the time we fight to get a parking and also insecurity hoping this time sakaja u r serious cbd is in mass

      Exactly! Roads, pathways in Ngara are slowly being taken over by mechanics. They are literally everywhere, with poor waste management. It is quite chaotic

    That is what every governor has said but cannot impose...I want to take a matatu to bus station..Alight and walk along "Hakati Road", Mfangano Street", cross "Ronald Ngala Street" all the way to "Luthuli Avenue" and back on to "Tom Mboya Street" before I get on to "Mfangano Lanes "Tafrija Restaurant" to see whether there are hawkers or not!

    I agree with the governor,the pathways left are very small and people have to squeeze themselves,more reasons for the increased theft.I stopped going to town for the same reasons.

    Nairobi is a mess, kila mahali unapata kumeekwa vitu... people are forced kutembea kwa barabara wakihepa magari ju sidewalks hazipitiki... On this one I agree with Sakaja, but still utasikia some people coming up with "watu wetu wanateswa" , because the mess is this town is a cash cow to some few individuals

    I don't think it's a good move ..we r not yet there as a country. Where hawkers
    can trade at specified locations. Flexibility for hawkers is key in these harsh economic times. The governor is speaking from an economically priveleged positon

      No law permit hawking in first place. Then you go further and errect barriers on pedestrian walk ways, when your wares get stepped on, then you attack the passerby. It is wrong.please, just Talk with owners of the buildings to rent you a space on the wall surface and sell your goods on standing posture.

    Tom mboya is chaotic, kwanza from odeon going up to Eastmatt, that walking path.. Hawkers have taken it... I went looking for that post office, it was hard to enter, hawkers have taken over. Chaotic!!!!
