The street is unique with traditional vibes and atmosphere. It is a 1 kilometre street from the sanjo avenue to the kennin-ji temple. However the old street and traditional shop lots only begins from the shijo dori part.
tourists flock this street in hopes to see a geisha leaving a tea house (ochaya) before entering their taxi
