Falling Leaves, Time for Grass Recovery.

Fall lawn recovery should start soon! Temps are coming down almost enough to begin seeding. Much of this thinned out grass will recover now, but you should add seed every year to keep a lawn thick.
Why does grass thin out? Besides traffic, fungus, and insects, the Fescue that covers 95% of our lawns has limits on the heat it will stand before protecting itself with temporary dormancy. . Constant 90 degree days are tough for fescue, but the 95+ recently really had things looking rough. Sometimes More water doesn't really help.
Watering can be reduced to 1" weekly amounts as September cooler temps arrive. Keep it up and be patient for recovery. Make a plan for your annual Over Seeding, too.
