The Tom's in all forms is hot for me, and modified OEM for sure. I only like the cleared out '13s when the clear lens are used, instead of painted. I'm currently building a set of oem '13s with the chrome painted charcoal, jdm side clears, and working on an idea for the reflector in the main lens.
Surprised the U-band VLANDs aren't here. The U-band, big sequential turn signal, and solid color housing, whether red or black, looks classy, modern, and cool. I 'd recommend going with red and tinting the middle half-oval reflector to give the appearance of a black housing.
the European market (my 86) also has the the clear side reflector on the stock 2012-2016 tail lights. i also installed a clear chrome blinker bulb. For a nice chrome and red look. i like it more than many aftermarket ones.
TOM's OG red is nice but leave something to be desired, the Cleared variant of TOM's is really neat, has lots of black and gray to break up the clear. I'm partial to the 2017 tails, they have a great mixture of red, clear for the signal, and the chrome trim inside, nice Trifecta and retains the OEM+ look as tthey're a bit uncommon. Did not know about the TYC? i believe you said, #1 clears, they have a really neat design inside, and sucks they are D/C but rare obscure parts always make the styling game more fun!
I agree! I absolutely love the Clear Toms. Super classy. Yea sometimes I think the 17s are a lil too red for me so I go for the 13s but you can't go wrong with the 17s and they can definitely look better depending on the style of aero you are running and color of the car. I just did some vht red on my 2013 oem lights because I'm not much of a chrome person and I dig them also saved a boatload on over priced aftermarket tail lights.
idk man, the buddy club v1 (aventador) jdm style with a vis ams carbon hood I think kinda looks alright on certain modified builds, but on a stock body they look kinda ehh

Personally I quite like the intecs- even though they’re copying a Ferrari design, it looks simple and elegant (unlike lambo taillight copies) and kind of works on a race style build where you would usually reduce and simplify components as much as you can.
I suppose they may have their purpose, I just have never seen anyone style them in a way that looks good in my eyes. We all have different taste though, nothin wrong with that :)
Didn't realize the Intecs were supposed to make the car look like a Ferrari. But I think these looked really cool on the Revolution 86 from Hot Version.
White boys have different taste. The intecs are hot with two versions. It all depends what kind of mods you have on your 86. If it looks wack it looks wackier with those tails. But if you have the right ingredients of mod it will look very racy especially the surrounding of the taillight is in full carbon fiber.

Honestly I like the OEM clear 13's over the 17+ version. I feel like they look way more aggressive like they're glaring down the people behind them while the 17+ just looks robotic or something idk.

If it was a solid ring then it'd look cooler, just looks a bit anemic as is. +1 for clears being a big improvement. I've got a '17 and just got a freebie replacement OEM tail from the dealer (condensation) so I'm going to continue to run these for a while despite not completely loving them lol. Taillights are low on my priority list because there's soooo many more functional mods I could do first, but I will return to them lol

I have the revos which imo is top tier. Intec is top tier for price but I’ve only heard bad things from people who own them. Dead LEDs withinA year. Also those buddy club reps were awful and had interior warning from outside parking under the sun. Tom’s should be top tier too because of quality and why isn’t the OG Valentis on here?
I included a lot of tail lights. Couldn't do them all. I based this video on the look and style of the tail light. I am not on forums so I am not paying attention to who is having trouble with LED's on which model. A lot of that is subjective to the situation. Toms are great, I did not rank them low at all.
A lot of ppl do but the best in the community do not usually like to share their methods because they make money off of selling them. They are actually really hard to get perfect especially if you have never worked on tail lights before. The 17s don't just "crack open" in the oven unfortunately.

Hey Cole, ZN6 or ZC6. A lot of people just refer to all of them as the GT86 though.
IMHO: 2012 OEM with the clear reflector with matching rear fog/3rd brake. 2017 OEM. Everything else is, ehh🤷🏿♂️
