Beginners should decide if fragrance is function or a collectable. Then start with store visits to sample and/or decants. Never blind buy regardless what others push. If function then you can do with 5 to 10 frags. Fresh/summer, loud, signature/ niche, sweet/winter, dumb reach. Anything starts to overlap
Agreed. Sure, if you're a "collector," it makes sense have all of these in your collection. I am still pretty new to this, but am more of an enthusiast, and I really have no desire to be a "collector." Thus, I search for samples and decants of these modern classics in order to know and experience them, but I don't need to own them. However, those that truly wow me, I may pick up.

Burberry Touch was one of the first fragrances i used…it’s an everyday scent and you can’t really beat the price and quality you’re getting
Burberry touch was my signature scent around 20 years ago.
Over the last several years I've bought so many niche fragrances, from Creeds, Amouage, MSK's, you name it.
Brought out the OG Burberry for the first time in years last year.
ONLY COMPLIMENT I GOT, TO THIS DAY!!
Violets, citrus, and tonka bean drydown. It's the perfect fragrance to me. I'm so happy someone insisted I try it instead of the Invictus they were originally selling me. It's timeless.

Its nice to see Prada Lhomme being in a list where Dior Homme isnt included. The latter is lipsticky iris while Prada's is clean. Yes, its a fantastic office scent and one of my favorites.
Dior is in every list. It's time for us to move on. Dior keeps screwing their customers over.

I have La Nuit D L'homme, The One, and Burberry Touch. I don't wear my designer fragrances as much anymore, but those are the ones I go to when I wear my designers.

Im surprised that Y by YSL didnt make the list. None the less, it is a fantastic list. I personally started with Y by YSL, Dior Savage, and Blue de Chanel. I was so proud of myself calling it the "Trifecta of blue designer fragrances". lmao!!!
It was a short lived fame for Y, it was special enough to create a hype and too special to survive long. Still could be nice to use sometimes in the future.

My bottle of Touch I’ve had since before I started collecting, approx 6 years now, and I’m pretty sure it has gotten WAY stronger with age. You get hit in the face with baby powder as soon as you take the cap off. Couldn’t smell nothing from the bottle at Sephora yesterday, blew my mind
I have five from this list. After buying a few of these I jumped on the Tom Ford and Mancera train for a while.
I have BDC and Burberry Touch. Although I have Prada LR Carbon which I prefer to Sauvage. Although saying that I’m about to pick about ADG Profumo I’ve sampled it and I need a big bottle in my collection.

I got a bottle of Burberry Touch around 2006. It’s a damn good bottle. I don’t have a bottle now, but I will soon remedy that problem.

Burberry Touch is the fragrance that turned me on to violets. It's beautiful and fresh. Highly recommend it a daily wear.

Burberry got me started on my fragrance journey and then my girlfriend at the time bought me don't Marc Jacobs and I been on ever since. That was on 2004!!!
You can use a polarizer filter on the lens to cut down the reflections on the glasses.

I love my YSL Y Le Parfum. It's my signature scent. I'd also love to try Dior Sauvage Elixir. People say it's quite strong.
DS Elixir is really strong. All you need is 2 sprays max and it lasts all day long

0. I know people own almost every fragrance that's made even if they don't wear them often. I try to find ones that are rarely talked about that are pleasing to my nose or the nose of my mate. I rather hear what is that you have on, than to hear oh you got that so & so on because I know that smell.
I have 9 outta 10 and I just do not like Terre de Hermes and I’ve tried. It’s just to earthy/dirty or some for me and i just don’t like the smell. But great list.

As a beginner, can you talk more about the differences between designer and niche fragrances?
I’m not him but designer just means more so the people that make something other than clothing like Dior, they make clothing and fragrances so they’re considered designer by trade. Niche is more so just fragrances, they don’t venture into much else but fragrances hence it being their Niche. Which is why they charge more because that’s the only thing they produce.
@@hworth3 yep he’s right. Designers = makes anything else along w/ frags and Niche= usually only frags. Plus, there are tons of videos on RUclips about this and I’m pretty sure he also did a video about this too. Peace.

I have a 100ml of Man Eu Fraiche, have the big boy bottle of 150 of D&G The One EDP. Big boy 200 bottle of Sauvage EDP.
I have 4 out of 10. Dior Sauvage Elixir, D&G The One, Burberry Touch and Bleu De Chanel Parfum. That Sauvage Elixir is a monster brotha. Bleu De Chanel is my favorite out of the 4. Best $150 I've ever spent and I'd do it again. Honorable Mention: Chanel Allure Sport Extreme. It just doesn't get enough love.
