    to all those who think the other guitarist ruins the band, hear them live first before you criticize. As much as i hated the idea at first it actually does add something that imo filled out the sound a little more in songs like 'loaded gun', 'west end riot' etc. it doesn't change what chris plays or how he plays, it just adds a little more texture (his guitar is quite low in the mix). im not saying they 'needed' another guitarist, but i understand where they are coming from.

    I worked on this. Was an awesome gig, the drum camera was breaking up but it only made things better!

    From an ex tour manager: FIRST, not having your backup guitarist in fron with everyone is fine. He is a backing guitarist. TLE is the 3 guys. Adding a rhythm guit adds complexity and more power to guitar driven songs. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. You can only do so much with one guitar.

    Was at this gig, They should play more old stuff and not write new stuff... Im pretty sure metallica wrote this riff already XD

    ActingJohn is right, here's hoping some good b-sides come out. And they're not like the rest of the cd. The second guitarist is hiding behind the curtain. Look close in some shots and you'll see him. Look at the other videos,right of Chris. Sad.

    everyone stop baggin the second guitarist..his name is Lombie and he's a fuckin top bloke okay! they get on well with him off stage too and he adds to the sound so SHUT UP the new tunes kick ass too!

    @tootgarookboy They've still got it mate. If anything they've regained what they lost on 'White Noise'...

    You guys dont know what your talking about. The new album has some of the best tracks they have done, and that aussie rock sound is all but gone! listen to Heatwave, Away from the City and Machine Gun for example.
    The Living End have always had a pop element to their sound. From day one they incorporated rock, punk and pop influences. anyone who wants to deny that can listen to earlier tracks like "Fly Away" and "Pictures in the mirror". They are still the same rock band they always were.

    @MrBsDad Wh... What ?! It is not pop punk at all O_o This album sounds a lot like Modern Artillery and State Of Emergency and it is still freakin' awesome

    Dude the other guitarist was hidden away is the point im making so it kinda gives the impression that they didnt want him to be out there, hes behind the stage lights which fade him out and stuff, they never needed another guitarist befor why bring one in now ? the sound changes because that guy dont have Chris's tone, personally didnt like it man

    SECOND, Nobody wants to release the same album over and over again...like say Nickelback. Being a musician for those of you that arent means constantly growing as a person and as a player. Wide variey of tastes mean complexity in music. TLE still rocks, that's undeniable. They keep their signature sound but really havent strayed too farfrom where they were. I'd say the biggest departure was probably SOE. I feel it's the most Aussie sounding of their releases.

    im sorry,but with an introduction of another guitarist, its ridiculous,
    its not the living end anymore with a +1 on stage.
    its terrible because one of the album reviews said "its a good clean pop punk studio record,but how they will manage the songs live is another story".
    and then they introduce the new guitarist,
    i love them,forever.
    but i hate what they've become.
    go search for "white noise 2008 NRL grand final"
    listen to the start as their walking on stage,

    Where do they say , they will have another guitarist? Or did I get this wrong? Well this song is the best of the album, but unfortunatly a pop punk band. now....i also fell love with them after their first album. but what they produce now is sad. but i guess a lot of the management and producers stand behind them. So i don't know if they got a choice or whatever......let's wait for some cool b-sides. they still rock......

    THIRD, It is VERY expensive to tour. Touring in america is almost impossible unless you are selling a ton of albums, to afford. People need to understand record contracts and who pays for what. TLE would come to america and as great as they are, only fill bars. That doesnt pay for their trip here. Tons of bands in america can barely afford to tour in their own country. With gas prices almost 5 bucks a gallon, the money you make per show which isnt much would cover that. Exchange rates etc..

    @tootgarookboy 13 лет назад

    i hate to say this as a devoted fan with them tattooed on me,but they've lost it,it's mainstream dribble now,TEIJTBR is just a good studio clean pop punk record,
    not what the living end used to be about.
    its saddening.
    good album.
    but sounds like another band trying to be who the living end were.

  • @Bucketheadjnr
    @Bucketheadjnr 13 лет назад

    @LukeManos Dude... i seen them live! why make something in the studio that you cant reproduce on stage, i seen the album launch and i have to admit their old stuff kicks the shit out of their new stuff and the guitarist was hidden away in the back like he wasn't suppose to be seen ?! wtf is up with that !

    I'm huge fan of this band. But this album isn't as good as it should/could be. It has less power and more of something that isn't the old Living End. It's just like another band. That's my opinion.
    NOW YOU CAN RAAAGEEEE

  • @JohnnyLongneck
    @JohnnyLongneck 12 лет назад +1

    Their music is still awesome. Actually their b-sides are best. The album tracks are mostly mediocre.
    Heatwave though, is excellent.
    But I still prefer the self-titled album. Favourite record of all time.
    Use less effects, guys ;)

    i find it amazing how this band put out mostly bland radio friendly music now but they still write badass songs like this! just seems like a waste.. write a whole albums worth of rocking stuff guys and forget the radio friendly shite..

    • @barrelrolldog
      @barrelrolldog 10 лет назад

      Tammie K i've followed them too. after roll on (which was amazing and their best album) they had a noticable drop off in quality and switch to more bland radio friendly music. the second from last album they made was pretty decent, they switched to a slightly more heavy direction but there were still a few crap tunes.

    • @barrelrolldog
      @barrelrolldog 10 лет назад

      Tammie K some of their new stuff is different and still good, i never said they should stay the same, just keep rocking like they did in the past. the old stuff still had poppy catchy tunes too.. but they were not bland radio friendly music.

    • @barrelrolldog
      @barrelrolldog 10 лет назад

      Tammie K that doesnt explain how some new songs (like this one) and most of the material on white noise rocked. my point -that you seem to be missing - is that this band still got it, but they choose not to use it.

    • @barrelrolldog
      @barrelrolldog 10 лет назад

      Tammie K aaand there are other new songs that rock too. such as machine gun. point is, they still got it they just choose for the most part not to use it.
