    I promised my mom that I'd get a Rebel 500 one day and that she'll ride it with me. It's been two years since her death. I still intend to get one someday and will name it after her lovely name.

      I'm sorry for your loss, my friend, truly, but your gesture of love for her is so heartwarming that it put a big smile on my face. I lost my father this past July due to cancer. The significance of his absence will dance across my mind for a long time to come. For him, music and humour were the gifts he gave my sisters and I. I'm not sure how he'd feel about my getting a motorcycle in the next few weeks, but I know that when I commit to learning piano and guitar over the next few years, whenever I play and whenever I laugh, I'll feel him beside me playing and laughing along.
      I wish you all the best, my friend. You'll get that bike and we'll both have a blast (while being safe, as our parents would have wished! 😂)

    I thought I would need to sacrifice looks for my first bike, but man was I wrong. This will be my first bike at 33yo. Getting my license tomorrow, booking lessons following and I will most definitely be ordering the 500SE shortly thereafter. I can't wait. It looks like there may be some stock issues here in Canada so I'm crossing my fingers I won't have to wait too long.

    This is my second bike besides Ducati XDiavel, which indeed is an Italian “devil,” but this little bike is so much fun, perfect for what it is, a great, nimble, buttery smooth, powerful enough bike for bopping around town! It will easily do 80mph on highway with my fat 200 pounds on it as well. Its really an engineering marvel and though I’m not a beginner rider, which it is absolutely perfect for, I thoroughly enjoy it and wouldn’t think about replacing it with anything else.

      @@PotatoMilkshake Hello, I would advise to get an upholster for the seat, I wouldn't it is a necessity but it's definitely a lot more comfortable. I added an extra thick padding to the seat :) and adjusted the pedals to adjust for my knees and that helped a ton. I would look into the seat upholster though that's a good investment.

    Man I was gonna start on an R3, then a 600 supersport, then an SV650, then a DR650, but I think I've have settled on this Rebel 500.
    I'm 5'8, so the DR650 (that I still fully intend on getting for prepper/2A purposes) would be pretty hard for me to handle, I think. Plus you can't beat that Honda reliability; it's got plenty of power, and not too much to tempt my need for speed like a 600 or even SV650; it's got those cool cruiser looks, and I can make friends with old biker dudes more easily; there is a plethora of mods; and I can likely sell it pretty easily when I am ready to replace my cruiser with the 1100, should I choose to.
    I think I'm sold on the Rebel 500.

    I own a 2019 , best money I EVER spent! Yes you will have to get a different seat the seat is trash, and yes and after market exhaust because the factory exhaust is a joke for sound. However if you want a bullet proof bike with enough power to do highway speeds , you won't be doing state to state running in it due to it's rev's to high on the highway but for 100 miles or less it's got you. Yes the bike will do 105 MPH but it's not good on a engine to run they high rate for that long (for state to state running). If your the type who wants to do it all long, long trips plus commute , and easy down town riding I'd suggest the 1100. If this is your first bike you WILL NOT be disappointed you'll love it until you pay it off. Then you'll be looking to buy the 1100. You just will it's a proven bike they run like silk. OH height restrictions. Yes 6 foot is the cut off comfort on the 500. Your buddies who a 6 foot 1 or taller are going to feel a little cramped. Suggest the 1100 for them just saying. But yeah comfort 6 foot is about as tall comfort wise you want to go. For who It may concern. I'm 5 foot 9 so it's like it was made for me custom. There is a Mexican feller RUclipsr who does great custom work on the Reb 500 he's like 5 foot 3 and he rides it just fine.

    6 foot on this is decent? I sat on one and loved it but I plan on riding long distances

      6 foot rider is acceptable! Just depends on how long of distance you’re going. The 500 is capable of going long distances, no doubt. But ultimately you’ll most likely want cruise control, more power, and more comfort. We’ve had a lot of folks successfully start out on a Rebel 1100 and love it!

    So you never showed us what you, at 6’2”, look and feel like on this bike. Since you used a guy who is 8” shorter than you, it seems you have implied this bike fits short people.

    • @benattwiggcycles
      @benattwiggcycles  Год назад

      Well, in a world of 650+lbs. cruisers, not many new riders or shorter riders are looking for a larger sized cruiser. I rarely get asked by a taller rider if a certain motorcycle will fit them. I usually get asked from shorter riders if a certain motorcycle is suitable for them as they are wanting to be able to touch the ground with both feet. And sometimes the bars are too far away, therefor I wanted to show that, yes, this bike is suitable for those with either shorter legs or arms.
      To our taller riders, certainly this bike will fit them, it's more so just a matter of how comfortable they want to me.

    • @cottrell003
      @cottrell003 Год назад

      @@benattwiggcycles Sure, I see where you’’re coming from. I’m 6’1”, an inch shorter than you, so I am curious if you’ve spent much time on the bike and if so, how you felt about the ergonomics.

      @@cottrell003 I'm not going to lie I LOVE riding around on these Rebel 500s! Even at 6'2" roughly, I feel like I fit just fine on this bike. It's an absolute blast. Now, as a taller rider the question would be how long of rides are we doing, and would those longer rides be comfortable? Everyone is different; an hour long ride might be comfy for some folks but not for others. But for me, the Rebel fits perfectly. Love it!
