F'in crazy that Michael and Randy, the two youngest in the group; wrote, composed, and produced this. Blows my mind.
Randy helped breath new life into the Jackson's
They killed this shit
@@ruff1draft He really did
❤❤❤❤❤
@@ruff1draft something that doesn’t get talked about enough in my opinion
Michael was an incredibly versatile singer. That second "go on with your bad self" gives me chills!
It really does...and those 'woah's' at 2:49...
The way he stretches out 'bad' Genius.
Even the outro is amazing! Chills throughout!
2:18
Yaaaaaasssssss!!!!
bro the Jackson's did not play when it came to making hits!!!
When music was real music🔥
TRIUMPH was a very UNDERRATED album. In addition to “Lovely One": "Can U Feel It”, "This Place Hotel", "Time Waits For No One", "Walk Right Now”, etc, are some of the BEST music The Jacksons (not including the Jackson 5) ever made & they were ALL on here.
Be honest as a fan 2nd to Destiny
Couldn't agree with you more. I didn't know all of those great songs were on the the Triumph album. Damn!!
Triumph was the shit.
“This Place Hotel”? I think you mean “Heartbreak Hotel.”
@@Capcoor , nope, I meant exactly what I wrote. I suggest you do a google or Wikipedia search of Triumph.
such an underrated song
It hit #2 on the R&B chart in late 1980. Plus, Michael performed it during his solo tours ("Bad")
We will NEVER get another family like the JACKSONS!!!!! RIP MJ!!!
This song makes me feel like a queen
You definitely are.
Yessss girl👑
The FUNK is undeniable. You CAN'T NOT bop to this, I don't care who you are...'Go on with yo' bad self'...👑
One of their baddest party jams.
Tito don't get enough props for them baselines
Tito is the guitarist on the LP the bass duties are shared by the great Nathan Watts and incomparable Clay Drayton
Jermaine plays bass but wasn’t on this album. This is a studio folks
This is the best album by the Jacksons.
By far
Agreed
It is the best album. Short lived talent as a group. They wanted creative control earlier but it came too late. The Victory album and tour were mere patch-work projects to help group members who did not manage their money well over the years. Quincy Jones knew the formula for Michael and it was unstoppable. The future was Michael. The group never officially dissolved or broke up but they did.
Me personally I think it was 'Destiny' but this one had some gems on it and Michael was at his best vocally on this album
Agreed. Followed by destiny
signature horns
this is what funk means.
What an album ❤️
The Jacksons - Triumph
@@madisondelatramblais3336 they weren’t asking what album
@@x_ray5531 back off it was a mistake
@@michaeljacksonfanclub8019 Why so hostile?
@@x_ray5531 I'm sorry can you forgive me. Any moowalker is a friend of mine
2:19. You're welcome. Love that part so freaking much.
His vocal control is out of this world. Unmatchable.
YES
It’s so weird after hearing the live version, these songs being a little slower
Yeah they were flying on the live version lol
The studio version is better , I feel
Yeah live they were faster
Because Jackie said that lives were done faster so that Michael could dance lol.
Absolute perfection! If this doesn’t make you move and groove you’re dead!
Yes!!
Horns!! Those horns!!!! Come through, Jerry hey! The albums recorded as 'The Jacksons' were on fire with those horns!
I keep listening and wonder now if those are synth horns
@@deeerv4905 I think they were real instruments-- Jerry Hey and the Seawind Horns
Just listened again and I think it’s both. Either way it’s the jam!!! That bass is kickin too. Was that thunder thumbs?
The horns and the strings!!!!
Still the jam, even in 2021!!!!!!!
Facts!
Ohhhhhh gawd yes!! Definitely a good time groove!!
More talent in this one song than 98% of the trash that is supposed to be "music" today. The brass alone is impressive but the entire composition is on a scale you'll never hear today.
FACTS 1000%
Fact boom park.... 😂 Accurate
I'm glad I was in my teens in the 1970's. I'm 60, years old now and I still play this song on a regular basis. There was nothing like Disco dance music. Not before or after it.
Same for me !
Same here... born in 62 ! We had the best freaking years of good disco, soul, rock, reggae... This world is coming to an end.
SAY MAN, I NO CHOP LIVER, I STILL AS KID (IN THE 1980'S) I'M 48 YEARS OLD NOW (WITH HIGH CHOLESTEROL AND HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE) REMEMBER WHEN THRILLER DROPPED, STILL (WILL ALWAYS BE) THE HIGHEST SELLIN' ALBUM IN MUSIC HISTORY!!!! 'TIL MUSIC WILL COMPLETELY STOP OR 'TIL THE END OF MUSIC TIME!!!!! 👎😭😟😡😠 THE 1970'S AND THE 1980'S ROCKED!!!!
If you never enjoyed disco and the clubbing that went with it you missed out on truly great parties!
@@lionheartroar3104 I did go clubbing and went to concerts from the disco groups of that era. I don't get your point.
Omg Michaels vocals just sound unreal, unpossible. It is unbelievable how high he. Could sing . I learned about him after he died. And became the biggest fan.
Sure the Jackson five stuff is iconic- a must know. Even. Though i never saw real or listened to the whole albums. -this is not being available in the public as much . And the Jacksons stuff is rather underrated and so i never had a break from the obsession with the solo albums of Michael. There is so much. To discover. And The Detail -youtube channel dedicated to the Jackson is amazing and the. Best thing that is pushing MJs legacy forward. The review of 1991 - is making me realize what the dangerous era and tour was about really in the first place. To support the heal the world foundation..... He was really making the world aware of the situation. I saw the speech at the Pepsi promo contract signing and the part where he listens to the children singing it for the first time is so heartbreaking. He said also he was holding from crying. I can't imagine what a great feeling it must be ...
did you also learn about what he did to children?
@@yaboi-km2qn Everyone has, but what are you going to do about it? Him and his family made amazing, funky, groundbreaking music; everyone knows the family was totally f'd up. He's no longer alive. You're on here listening, so what's your opinion? Bottom line, it's amazing music that makes me happy and I have no clue what actually happened so I think it's a waste to boycott music by genius artists. There's nothing anyone can do to change anything now and again no one really knows what happened.
@@yaboi-km2qn I kind of agree here with GreenWeenie. I am reminded that i have a limited amount of time left. In that time i have to make sure i am as happy as i can be. Be it the awesome new inventions, the social progress, crazy achievements of different kinds of talent, art, all kind of music, especially that touches me, has a massage, teaches me something, makes me feel good. The bottom line is the world is not a perfect place, where is light there is shadow. Also, these songs don't have any vulgar or racist or misogynist discriminating lyrics as for example many rapers do have. I don't even consider art to belong to someone other than the people. i don't see any harm in listening to Man in the mirror, rather believe that many people can reflect on it become happier in life. This is what i am about. Only this. And i will not allow anyone anymore to make me feel less valid or feel quilty or ashamed for just listening to music. I don't support any of that i just like the guitar solo of Beat it. I recommend Sigmund Freund .
@@yaboi-km2qn i bet your a prince fan
You really got to see how good of a singer Michael Jackson really was on songs like this.
No. We got to see that long before.
Thats the thing about life. I think when you see someone like MJ come along you realize the meaning of unprecedented. None before and none after
i never get tired of this album
Impossible
I love The Jacksons. This was my jam!
“Living and hoping but I’m coping with these thangs you put me through. The way that I can’t sleep at night just proves what I go through”.
Proof that his sleeping problems lasted for all of his lifetime.
Sad... but such a great piece of music: reminds me of "You Rock My World"
Co.worker played this at work....damn it was a Vibe
Everyone had to be bopping in the workplace, right? Were you in an office?
That " Gworll " at 3:15💗
This one of favorite songs by the Jacksons...
Still bussin down on this in 2022
I'm so glad my dad was a DJ, he's one of the reasons I love music
one of the baddest families in music history!
Still the jam in 2023
In 2024 too😊
Certified classic
This is a certified bop!! 💃🏽🎶🎷🎸🎺 I miss MJ soooo much.
saaaameeee D:
Great song 👍
Wish there was video of them recording this in the studio...
The live version of this from the victory tour is amazing, incase you haven't seen it x
@DAN WILSON hi ,have you sen the victory tour ?
Great. I love Michael Jackson.
It's not just MJ. It's the Jacksons
His voice with the horns take their solo here is unreal
I remember years ago, when Soul Train reruns were being aired around 1 a.m. Sat nights, they opened that night's show with this song. I got so caught up in it, between the Soul Train dancers and the drive of this song, I bounced off the bed and danced my butt off, having the time of my life. Took me back to the good ol' disco days when hitting the clubs was fun....and infinitely safer.
The Jacksons are out of this world.
MJ, MJ we already miss you as it is.
Brother Jackie, Brother Tito, Brother Marlon, Brother Mike and Lil Brother Randy.
Randy took over from Jermaine but he made a return in their Victory tour in 1984.
this ain't disco, folks. It's an amalgamation of animation of something else, entirely. A whole lot funkier than disco👊
I'm willing to classify this one as post-disco (the album was released in 1980 after all).
RIP Michael… miss him he was from my time I remember the Saturday morning cartoon 💙💙💙thee best years compared to these kids playing video games like zombies than after morning was soul train 🚂🙌🏼
u are my....u are my....u are my LOVELY ONE! 🎶🎶🎶 owwwww! 💃💃💃
For another funky song by the Jackson 5, check out The Boogie Man off the Skywriter album (1973). Classic deep cut!!
Thanks for the info 🙏
Still listening in 2022
Who else is listening this song and the others from triumph album? So underrated! Also addictive!!😃💃🕺🏻🎶
Such an underrated JAM! 'Go on with yo' bad self'...❤
The Jacksons 2021
Imagine being around a Lion that gets bigger and stronger every week. Eventually you have to free him from the cage. M.J.=G.O.A.T.
I absolutely LOVED this album when it came out! It kick started the 1980's!
🎶 "Lovely One, Don't Stop Till You Get Enough and Wanna Be Startin' Something " my three great favorite danceable Disco sound of 80's onwards. Thank you Michael Jackson. Rest in Peace. 👍👍👍👍👍
UUUUUUUU THAT'S SO FUCKING GREAT
They should have been the ones charging $200 ticket prices .you get none of the live horns anymore or bands for what you pay today . Sad he’s gone but this will live forever .To me his best ever vocal preformance R.I.P. King M.J
Being a God given naturally born dancer myself like MJ himself, anything uptempo (like this...a timeless classic) with the KING of Pop all over it is an automatic get up and groove for me for those who know me best! He's in a much better place now but his music and legacy outside of the music will FOREVER LIVE ON!
MJ at his best❤️❤️
I named a kitten “You are my” because of this song😂
Love this song and The Jackson’s😍✨💞
This must have been The Jacksons best album honestly. Michael JUST recorded his OFF THE WALL Album with Q and Q just had the same band that was on OFF THE WALL onto this album, that's why they sound so familiar!
Michael Jackson sounds GREAT on this album the name of this album should have been Michael Jackson and the Jacksons family RIP
Exceptional album
This is music.
Happy Birthday Michael
This is my first time hear this tune by the Jacksons, just love it!!
His Soon To Be Thriller Era Voice 🔥🔥🔥🔥
All skate at the skating rink, me at 10 years old, showing out for the middle school girls! Letting them know what I can do on 8 wheels.
One of the grooviest track in MUSIC HISTORY. Trust me. Enjoy. Peace.
😇😇❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
absolutely that song is so sick OMG 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥✨✨✨✨
This track is straight fire.
The Groove on this is ridiculous.
This is my most favorite song. I always wondered why there was no music video for this record.
Forgot how good this song is 🎶
Omg This album💃🏿🌟👑💓
If this don't get you dancing..check your pulse, cause..lol..and that cat is spanking the HELL out that bass!!!😂
This God Given Talent!!
Triumph is by far the best Jacksons album ever! Nothing but funk, boggie music(I do mean music non-stop dancing music)... they give us a break with time waits for no one, but come back walk right now. Definitely shedding 10lbs every time putting this on, especially Lovely One.
Like I said before, Michael Jackson, and Marilyn Jones, we have the same initials.. so I would love him forever.. and yes to me I was his lovely one❤. Can you imagine trillions and trillions of girls liking and dreaming of one guy, Michael Jackson wow what a feeling for him..❤❤❤ but I know it was too much in overwhelming for him but we just loved him... I love you forever in my heart Michael Jackson❤❤❤
This is funky

Amazing song. You just have to start dancing, too bad is so short.
Great track simple as that
This is one of the most joyous pop songs I've ever heard... it's gotta become mainsteam somehow. It's just too good.

Those boys are super, the best young male group of all times, ❤😊, love them.
Sensacional essa música. Não dá pra ficar parado.....kkkkk
