Hay mate I tend to run high smoothing all the time. I get onto the small stuff quiet easy but worried I’m missing those deeper targets. Is high smoothing good for deeper targets also?

Deeper targets can often be just a threshold pull, with very little tone change. Or even a very faint wobble. I think with High Smoothing it would be easy to dismiss these types of signals.

Nenad @ Phase Technical thanks mate thanks for the reply. I just find hit hard to get the machine running smooth without the audio smoothing and tend to dig false targets. Have you got any tips on having a machine running good in mineralised ground? I’m still pretty new to the z only had it for 6 months

@@2banga333 Get your sensitivity right down, main Volume no higher than 10, and steady coil sweeps. On Low Smoothing you will still hear the detector warble, but it shouldn't be excessive. In General/Difficult, repeatable ground signals should be pretty rare.

Nenad @ Phase Technical thanks., Nenad. Been out dozen times around Warwick Qld. Only buckshot, shoe tacs, wire. 22's. 202 casings. Was thinking the sdc2300 was only for rubbish, but finally came across a large quartz rock. Opened it. Very very fine gold. The SDC only went from 1 bar to 3bars no sound. Funny. Then did homework on area only fine gold. Not many Nugent's. All hard rock. Gold. Thanks again. Was going give it up as a bad joke. Until I got first rock. Mark
