Morning Train was her first hit which is a fun song. You Could Have Been With Me is a power ballad that really showcases the strength of her voice. Both were hits . Good reaction to Strut!!
Check out other good songs by Sheena Easton. "Morning Train" and "I'm almost over you." Also she did a great cover duet with Kenny Rogers called "We've got Tonight."
Ironically, for a song that'has the woman singing about being more than a piece of meat, it's got a sexy vibe to it! And Easton gives the chorus a healthy amount of attitude. Great reaction, Angela! :)
Sheena did an amazing version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow " during a Mark and Brian Christmas show, djs out of LA who I believe went national. If you can find it, it's definitely worth a listen, gave me goosebumps.
Sheena Easton came to prominence after appearing on That's Life, a UK Television show, not primarily about music but showed her singing talent. I liked 'For your eyes only' she did for the Bond Movie. Quite like this one , quite lively and funky-Colin Ward
The Wind Beneath My Wings The song was first recorded by Kamahl in 1982 for a country and western album he was recording. Kamahl talked about being the first to record the song in an appearance on Australian TV show Spicks and Specks, but stated it was not commercially released because it was felt he did not suit the country and western style. Instead, Roger Whittaker recorded the song, as well as Sheena Easton and Lee Greenwood. The song appeared shortly thereafter in charted versions by Colleen Hewett (1982), Lou Rawls (1983), Gladys Knight & the Pips (1983), and Gary Morris (1983). The highest-charting version of the song to date was recorded in 1988 by singer and actress Bette Midler for the soundtrack to the film Beaches.
You should react to "Almost Over You." It's probably her best ballad, next to "For Your Eyes Only." Though, she has quite a few that are really good. "You Could Have Been With Me," "We've Got Tonight," and "When He Shines."
This is one of her songs that still sounds great. If you liked For your eyes only, maybe listen to Almost over you or i wouldn't beg for water from Sheena. Her single Sugar Walls written by Prince was banned for it's suggestive lyrics. You'd probably enjoy her song Lover in me produced by LA and Babyface. Her best vocal performance is 101 written by Prince.
I love your reaction lol. One of her lesser known songs that I think you would love is When He Shines. It brings tears to my eyes every time! It really shows off her voice and especially her delivery.
OMG!!! Sheena E as we all called her. She play'd in Prince's band before she went on her own. He wrote a few songs for her. Yes Sheena sang the song " For your Eyes Only " movie. Which is the theme song of the 12th James Bond movie. So good the song is.
She had some 😃👍 good hits, and my favorite 💓 is Morning Train 9 to 5, not 🚭🚫 to be confused with the 9 to 5 🍿 movie and song about some women working in an office with an overbearing male boss! Goodbye!
@@gmarky81 I’m a Prince fan so his producing/writing credits are well-documented even before the Internet. His only involvement on Sheena’s album _PRIVATE HEAVEN_ was on “Sugar Walls” (under one of his monikers, Alexander Nevermind). He had *nothing* to do with “Strut” or any other song on the album.
I was the opposite. I started liking SE when she worked with Prince and later L.A. & Babyface. She surprised with her R&B ability (based on her pop music esp the ballads).
I’m not even a SE fan but I’d say she had a nice run of success in the 80’s. Flash-in-The-Pan To Me would be an artist/group that were essentially one or two hit wonders. Still beloved by their fans but they didn’t have longevity.
Actually, both Kenny Rogers and Gladys Knight recorded versions of "Wind Beneath My Wings" before Bette Midler, But Bette's is by far, the most well known version. As for Sheena, this track was the beginning of her re-branding as slightly edgier and funkier. This album also featured her first work with Prince.

Prince and Sheena Easton recorded a little Diddy called 'u got the look' yes indeed luv ya!
Sheena with some fine pipes. For Your Eyes Only had superb vocals.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 STARS ARTIST💯💯💯💯
"You could have been with me" is a vocal that will leave you breathless.
Sheena did an amazing version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow " during a Mark and Brian Christmas show, djs out of LA who I believe went national. If you can find it, it's definitely worth a listen, gave me goosebumps.
Sheena was a Prince clone, he wrote songs for her and i guess he had her sing them like he would
Prince’s hands all over this song and album. Nothing like 9 to 5 - Morning Train.
Yeah once Prince got a hold of her. the innocent songs were gone 😂, she was still incredible!
Prince had nothing to do with “Strut” or any other track on this album bar “Sugar Walls”.
A must is her cover of the dolly parton song, I will always love you, Sheena Easton does an incredible performance of that song 🔥🔥🔥
MASSIVE CRUSH!!!

It was actually called The Big Time but it was presented by Esther Ranzon who also presented That's Life.
Hi there, thanks for info I remembered it was on an Ester Ranzon show, but got the wrong one-Colin@@celticbro1
She had the best version of wind beneath my wings in 1982. And yes she was first and it was better

Sheena was 🔥🔥🎶🎶♥️♥️!! Great pic!!
When it turns October be sure and watch Sheena’s video of “Telefone “ as something spooky for Halloween.

Almost over you is great
Here is another Scottish singer you should check out called Sharleen Spiteri from the band called TEXAS
Agree! The song "Put Your Arms Around Me" was featured in the end credits of the Drew Barrymore movie Ever After.
Sheena ❤
Sheena’s most recognizable hit was probably “Morning Train”. I’ll be shocked if you haven’t heard the chorus. It’s part of pop culture
This is one of her songs that still sounds great. If you liked For your eyes only, maybe listen to Almost over you or i wouldn't beg for water from Sheena. "Can I get a burger, first????" LOLOL!!! Love that

You're mixing up Sheena Easton with Sheila E.
If you haven't filled your list, check out Sheila E - The Glamorous Life - another Prince collaborator, singer and percussionist.
Great song, though it's ironic that she also sang "Sugar Walls."
There is a hidden star in the video for this song! Before he hit it big Bruce Hornsby was playing the piano in this video!
I would’ve preferred that Angela reacted to “The Lover In Me” from ‘88. I’m not a fan but without question, Sheena could sing. Anything. ✌🏽
She is very pretty lady with great voice!
She had some 😃👍 good hits, and my favorite 💓 is Morning Train 9 to 5, not 🚭🚫 to be confused with the 9 to 5 🍿 movie and song about some women working in an office with an overbearing male boss! Goodbye!
I think you would like, " Almost over you" and " I wouldn't beg for water."
THIS HAS SONG HAS A VIDEO TO IT.
The Prince produced Sugar Walls by Sheena was killer.. And they dated for a while
It was vile. It always bugged me that Sheena ventured into that territory....you know...to be relevant.
Wind beneath my wings
Was in a movie
Sang by and the story OF
Bette Midler
Almost Over You was one of her bigger hits.
Many women "rules" 80s! Sheena was one of the best!
have to recommend more than any other woman from the eighties is
KATE BUSH -
this woman's work
I wonder if Kate Bush will be one of the ‘Women Who Ruled the 80’’s’ due to the “Strange Things” hype.
this song is when Prince came in to help get her back on top . Try Sugar Walls next
Prince had nothing to do with “Strut”.
@@gabrielmcdonnell8699 he helped her on this whole album from start to finish Listen to the lyrics on this and sugar walls

I remember this song being a huge hit for her and Id learned later on that she is Scottish decent.
Soooooo 80’s.
Still fun though,I can see Jane Fonda working out to this in 1983.
Angela, please don't forget to react I HAVE YOU by Karen "HER VOICE"Carpenter
Sugar Walls
Always like when you move!
Never been a fan..liked 9 to 5 which was called Morning Train in the USA because of Dolly Partons 9 to 5 hit..completely different..
rip Sheena Easton
Sheena Easton is still alive.
😂
I never cared for her with the influence from Prince. She was Quite Good before that, but after that she was just a female Prince
I was the opposite. I started liking SE when she worked with Prince and later L.A. & Babyface. She surprised with her R&B ability (based on her pop music esp the ballads).
I liked her before and after...solid music discography!
And yes Sheena is nasty - don't be afraid! But she sings amazing, not many to compare for sure.
Why wouldnt you use the music video, ugh.
80's was a great time was my youth and when music was great. Sheena was a flash in the pan didn't last long
I’m not even a SE fan but I’d say she had a nice run of success in the 80’s. Flash-in-The-Pan To Me would be an artist/group that were essentially one or two hit wonders. Still beloved by their fans but they didn’t have longevity.
