  • We have been using ACE Curriculum for several days. Here I share my initial impression, and why I prefer it over the curriculum we were previously using. We are currently using ACE for 3rd grade math and english, and 1st grade english. We plan to transition to more ACE PACES next month, and start their Kindergarten program :)

    I have used ACE for many years and used the Kindergarten for all 4 of my girls and it is great!

      Amy Green oh awesome! I'm glad to hear that. Im hopeful that the way ACE teaches phonics with the symbols over the letters will click for my kids. Is that how it has been for your kids? Teaching reading has been a struggle for us!

    • @amybeth2379
      @amybeth2379 6 лет назад

      One of the major strong points for ACE is the amazing reading results. There is so much reading practice across the subjects that it truly builds reading skills. The way ACE using the symbols definitely helps and it is carried all of the way through when they are learning new vocabulary words. I love it!

    I’ve seen Andrea Mills (after she passed the family changed their channel to the Mills Family) share about this and how she organizes it too. I was thinking of trying this for a few subjects. Thanks for showing us!

    Thanks for posting. I’m in my 2nd year. First year with 2 kids to teach. Ive wanted to try ACE but have been pretty loyal to Abeka (no bashing- i love it) but I’m so overwhelmed with the “busy work” and switching my brain back and forth between 2nd and kindergarten. Plus entertaining my 2 year old. My 2nd grader is a great reader and i would love to let him do more independent work bc. I’m getting burned out on all the teaching. If i could cut out at least like one subject to teach it would lighten my load so much.

      Sounds like ACE might make things so much easier for you! I know switching curriculum is overwhelming and a lot of work. I'm still so happy I made the switch. Thanks for watching and commenting :)

    How much does this program cost?

    • @familyfarmhouse
      @familyfarmhouse  6 лет назад +3

      The Balancing Mom it’s pretty affordable. Each PACE (workbook) is $2.70- $2.90. Each child uses 12 PACES per year per subject. For example, my kids are using PACES for English, math, and word building (spelling) this year. You could also add in Bible and Literature & Creative Writing. Hope that helps! 😀

    Helloo! Thank you for this video!
    I am trying to combine MFW with Ace, but I am afraid that at the end it will be too much for my children, since MFW is a heavy curriculum, with this video I get an idea of what it can be done, thanks a lot!

    Can you please make a new video on how it is working to you with both curriculums (ACE and MFW), I am doing MFW, and I find it exhausting, and I am thinking to introduce ACE for the rest of the subjects,

      I have been homeschooling for 6 years and I have used Christian Light Education and just recently added ACE Science & Social Studies. Absolutely love both of these curriculums. Christain Light Education is similar to ACE. Both are very well organized, have study booklets for each subject, easy to understand and follow, affordable, and academically sound. Both curriculums just keep building with a daily short lesson and a small amount of homework each day. Next year for 9th grade we are using CLE for Algebra I and ACE for Science (Biology plus the DVD's), Social Studies, English I, and Auto Upkeep. Here is the website for CLE if interested: www.clp.org

    • @familyfarmhouse
      @familyfarmhouse  6 лет назад +1

      I found it exhausting too, lol! 😂 I quit using MFW after a couple weeks and just relied on our homeschool co-op for science and social studies. This fall I think I’m going to use ACE for all subjects. I’ll do an update video soon about ACE ( and mostly how much we love it!) thanks for chatting! 😀

      Sorry I forgot to reply sooner! I don't think you need the score keys until the child is in 3rd grade and at that point they can score their own work. Thanks for watching! :)

    I went to an A.C.E school, I was told it was equivalent to an O level, (basically a GED) I went to the UK and found out nobody knew what it was. We were told all these grand stories about how universities love A.C.E students. I went to a university in England and was asked if I have any real highschool degree, I was exploited because I knew that if I was hired I was lucky and I just needed to stick it out because I wouldn't get another job. I have gone back to school, real school, Cambridge. if you are doing this for financial reasons it will cost you so much more in the future, if you are doing it for religious reasons just remember that potential employers don't care how many bible verses you can quote. if you carry on with the ace system you are throwing away your childrens future.

      Savannah Da Nobrega wow what a different experience you have had. I’m sure despite those struggles the Lord had a plan to draw you closer to Him through all of that. As for us, we have had nothing but wonderful experiences with homeschooling and ACE ❤️

      Most people who hate A.C.E. do so for religious reasons. I know a ton of A.C.E. graduates that have gone off to college and have been very successful in their career. You get out what you put in.

      I don't know how it is in the UK, but in the US where ACE is based, the universities care more about SAT/ACT scores and the transcript. They don't care what curriculum/s the graduate has or what kind of diploma.
      I was homeschooled without any set curriculum (eclectic) and had a degree in name only - not one college or university cared about either. They only looked at my transcript and my scores. I was accepted into every school to which I applied.
