I'm a casual runner and I've only heard of the Barkley marathons from a Belgian comedian's podcast, he had a guest on a couple of years ago talking about it, and how he took part but ultimately couldn't finish partly because of horrendous conditions. Karel Sabbe. Guy finished this year with 7 minutes to go, it was absolutely mental to hear that he's managed to finish this year. Superhuman stuff, that event.

Duluth is the most hardcore winter adventureland. XC and downhill skiing, winter surfing, dogsledding, ice climbing, hockey mecca, stunning winter running trails with elevated views of lake Superior. And that's just in the winter. The summer has hosts of other fantastic outdoor activities. Don't knock it until you try it, it's the best spot in the midwest for adventure.
The adventuring part sounds awesome, I think it's the daily life thing that sounds terrible - R
Grandma's is a severely underrated marathon.
Really appreciate the Baltimore pride you feel and express. Baltimore is a city that no one thinks about unless you’re a historian or happen to live in the Mid-Atlantic corridor. Everything the rest of us hears about Baltimore is negative. I’ve visited maybe 20 times and appreciate its uniqueness, but (being a Coloradan) wouldn’t have associated it even remotely with running. Congratulations and thank you. Because of you, Baltimore is a place I really look forward to seeing again and to run somewhere else than around the Inner Harbor.

Because of the swoosh on the side of the shoe and the amount of money Nike will spend on marketing, it will vastly outsell the Puma Volocity Nitro 1 or 2. A shoe that ticks the same boxes as the Pegasus, and that's a shame because the Puma Volocity is far superior to this shoe in every way, including price.

The 39s have been great (if you're a Peg fan), but the outsoles do seem to wear down faster than prior years. I had a pair of the originals in the spring of '84 for high school track, and have loved them since.
Agreed about the outsoles. I have 35s and skipped a few years because other brands have better midsoles and decided to give Pegs another chance with 39. I might be done with Peg line for a looong time.

I think completing the Barkley marathons largely comes down to weather and trail conditions. Courtney D for example competed last year but didnt complete it (nor did anyone given the conditions and weather). It seems like this years event with three finishers has better weather than most years

My parents were the same regarding snacks!! Lol never realized the trauma it left behind lol but if you like that part of the cone you should try Muddy Buddy Waffle Cone snacks, soooo good!
P.S. I probably look completely crazy after I started laughing hysterically on the treadmill in the gym when Thomas hit Robbe with the Busta Rhymes line! Gold!

It's not, because we have the details directly from Nike... it's Cushlon 3.0 with a layer of ZoomX. We previously thought it was React as well.
Catching up late while doing TM runs. Great entertainment as always, but Robbe, why are you dressed here for what looks like freezing weather? As for Japan-lag, having gone on Asia tours with orchestras 20+ times, the jet lag between N. America and Asia is really tough, being close to or precisely night/day reversal.
Nike doesn't care about anything other than their top tier shoes. When I retire the Invincible, it will be the first time I am without a single Nike shoe in the rotation. I'm getting my shoes from other brands that care more about their customers.

@RamsHouse 🤣🤣🤣 Me work for BITR! NO! I would be upsetting the apple cart. I was attempting to use levity in a flippant way. BITR is a perfect example of "work hard, play hard." Their so good at what they do, they make it look easy like a pro. The amount of hard work and discipline it takes to film, edit, and research in putting out high-quality content 7 days a wk. that BITR does is way beyond my paygrade.
