ROURKELA is one of the 15 cities of the WORLD which won the Bloomberg 2021 Global Mayors Challenge. It is the only city from India to win this year’s challenge. Remember its an International contest, Rourkela was chosen from among 631 applications(cities) from 99 countries. No other cities in Odisha stood close to it. The only city in India that was within top 50 with Rourkela was Pune, however Pune did not make itself to top 15 and Rourkela was the only winner from India. So people who are jealous of Rourkela being choosen for smart city project, It is indeed a smart city with smart people generating smart ideas and making it to the world stage.

The issue with Rourkela is its connectivity......it doesn't have direct routes from many major cities........ otherwise I think it is at par in all aspects
