My sons an ESTP & he's very good at math albeit I think SiTi- does proclivicate (ENTP)one to more sequential mathematical way of thinking but that's not to say ESTPs can't do it
I’m an ENTP working towards being a professional animator. The perfectionism till you tremble is real. 😅 I’ll think stuff like ‘Oh I need to learn architectural drafting for point perspective and cityscapes’ 👁️👄👁️ I also have a crafted persona.
Can I ask when you say you have a crafted persona do you feel like this has something to do with the FiSi blindspot or more to do with the ENTPs impetus to solidify themselves/cultivate a social persona based upon their skills sets or both/anything else? As an ENFJ I've been accused of being fake before on account of the usual Fe stereotypes of 'fakery' although ironically I think we're probably the type that encourages people to be their most authentic selves without giving that much away about ourselves despite coming off as very personable (quite the irony really). I do struggle with a more general sense of 'identity' as my SiFi is relatively unconscious. I can relate to having a more crafted persona however albeit I think this probably stems from a different origin point to the ENTP & is also impacted by aspects superflous to cognition...I tend to base my FeSe around being an academic & have done since a young age...I guess it's a bit foolish of me/dangerous to invest my identity all into one 'mode' of being. Anyway, I greatly admire ISTJs as I struggle with a sense of constancy. On that note, do you feel like your 'crafted persona' organically develops in line with your skills sets etc or is it something you have to give more conscious thought to? Apologies, I'm curious, I hope you don't mind me asking! 😊
@@AnyaAnnika67 For me it’s not a Fi/Si blindspot but the latter. My persona has been carefully crated through study and reflection. I see my persona as my elegant personal brand and I’m selective about who I truly let in. Listening to people, charming them with compassionate positivity and anticipating their expectations is just as essential as technical skill when it comes to succeeding professionally or personally. The unfortunate reality of life is most people don’t care about your wellbeing, so I have no issue presenting them the professional and warmhearted face they want, while saving my authentic self for those that truly care. Those close personal relationships are what matter and are fulfilling.
This video came right on time! I've been struggling to type my son (ok let's at the caveat that he's only young so it's an approximation at best) as either an ESTP or ENTP. I'm leaning slightly more towards ESTP: he's liked by all but tends to gravitate towards a small friendship group & is quite vocal about who he does like & who he doesn't. I think one of these friends is an INFJ who seems to be taken in by him whether he likes it or not 😂. The INFJ child is simply a wander to behold; they overtly seem like chalk & cheese yet have a lot underlying in common. CPT has certainly helped in my approach to learning as I can understand why he gets stuck on more of the minutiae...he'll often get the right answer on a maths problem but not be able to really explain how he got there. Anyway, top quality content, I'll have to give this more thought.
Man, I don't know if you have intentionally worked on this or not, but you are so much easier for me to understand now. It seems like you grade your language a bit more, because I felt really stupid when watching your older videos, and would have to rewind multiple times every video. You've just got great vocabulary.
This is such a spot on well articulated video , I would like to send this to the ESTP individuals i know of but i already know they wont listen to the whole video Essentially the thinking styles part is what prominently Differentiates me as a ENTP from ESTPs I want to know the impotence the why before acting and consider the possibilities/ alternative options. & i want more information. Wheres the ESTP people in my subjective experience just. DO FIRST & THINK later and i get hardly any detailed information just vague authoritie commands " just do it " ect Thought preceeds action is my motto ... for everything i do is a manifestation of a thought / plan i created. A possibility i put into fruition I hate just doing things without thought
And this has probably just confirmed that my son is an ESTP...yup do first think later! He's splattering similar colours around broadly speaking so eventually something will stick, thanks my dear. Meanwhile my ADHD meds have worn off & I can't stop talking or writing on here! Me FeSe convergence is in happy mode - ENFJ
I'm so glad you talked about the thinking styles. I had been thinking and wondering about it for a while and loved theorizing about it on the discord! This explanation is in my opinion so important that it could be added to the CPT principles playlist.
I've seen many an amateur on MBTI forums conflate themselves with being an ENTP due to being a supposed NT type & having more of a holistic approach to logic which would be more indicative of the ESTP or another that's more of a broad thinker. Really pertinent comment, thanks, I'll probably see you on the discord :)
I've found a great distinction (as my son is ESTP & my fiancé ESFP) is the Ti vs Fi authority. It's rather simplistic but my son always needs a logically cohesive rationale as to why something is the case whereas my fiancé will just default to his values. However, I do live with an über anxious ESFP & probably quite a rare enneagram for this type so there is that, he's not as chilled as most other ESFPs I know.
CPT certainly is more deterministic, or if i were to reiterate, has the most potential for determinism than other systems of type, like you said While a NiTi holistic nature is very much embedded in it's inner workings, making it quite the flexible system, i do believe that there are intuitive leaps that can be made, more concrete things that it can be connected to and rerouted to the system that can point it toward a more deterministic SiTi viewpoint I suppose that's what makes CPT quite easy to register, even for sensing thinking pairs At least, that is one approach i find myself taking quite often, as an eNF myself I think it's quite interesting how it's innate Ni flexibility is what accounts for it's potential in determinism. Cheers, harry.
That was a bit of a coincidence, I just finished reading about Se-dominants and was about to read about Ne-dominants, when I saw this video was uploaded.
I love these type comparison videos Can you make one for ISFP or INTJ? Its a very common mistype and I havent seen to many videos on it. Thank you Harry, you are awesome :)
Hey there! Would you say that the differences you´ve elaborated between NT an ST styles of thought, as well as SF vs NF styles of feeling can be translated similarly to ISTPs vs INTPs? With ISTPs being more action oriented and firmer with their boundaries, as well as INTPs being a little more otherworldly, nitpicky and more collectivistic? Personally I´ve noticed that these two types are actually very very different from one another.
Great observation! I've noticed this too. I tend to gravitate towards both types but particularly the ISTP; I do find they can be somewhat stubborn however (actually kind of bit like me as a divergent ENFJ - it's either my way or the high round kind of attitude)...INTPs tend to be a lot more accommodating from what I've seen as a generalisation.
Love the new graphs for types but i do need to ask something (I had the same question when I watched your latest network video) what exactly does the arrow pointing from Ni-Fi to Si-Ti in ENTP and Si-Fi to Ni-Ti in ESTP mean? I understand the others since it shows the convergent functions going into their counterparts but i don't get why that arrow is returning to divergent functions. Also can you elaborate on Si-Fi blindness more please? Other type videos goes more in depth to their blindspot but it wasn't there in the ENTP video, and I didn't quite get it in here also.
Anywhere there is a continuum there exists a pathway. This also presents the notion of double dips.. as NeFe and dip through into NiTi and increase the dip to SiTi from there.
Ok got to the middle and i'm already sure my son is ESTP, he got this in the test but he is very sensitive and non violent, also get scared easily so i was skeptical but everything said here is spot on Super picky with friends, traditional mindset at times, is ok with emotional duality and is not about the details of anything, also was never keen on repeatedly perfecting his skills
I see my social space, and the worst part is that I have no personal boundaries because this is my world, and I manipulate the experience, not to cause harm. In fact, I take on so much responsibility that sometimes the anxiety of provoking unsatisfactory emotions scares me. I try to maintain control; I want my own validation through the nourishment of interactions. It's my recreational center, but I always end up asking myself who I am. I feel disconnected from myself and others. I don’t know if I’m an ENTP, ESFP, or whatever God I might be. But traversing dizzying areas and making preconceptions just to not feel even a little fulfilled, ugh. It’s probably just depression, excuse me.
May be depression, as well as unsatisfactory environment. A vague notion of the self is a heavy burden, I've been there after more than 16 years of psychological and emotional abuse. I've experienced gaslighting, emotional suppression, denigration of my wishes, aspirations and I delved into several afdictions, like porn. I still wrestle with my anger issues and the more I unravel the issue, the less I wrestle - the more I observe it and breathe. I cannot state what is universally acute, but I can speak for myself. Meditation and concetrated observation of my feelings helped disclosing what's been inside. Journaling assisted in reflecting and noting my responses, thought patterns (and thinking how practical, logically accurate they are: standpoints about myself people, culture etc. ) eventually - values, how I relate to certain themes, actions, behaviours. Physical hygiene: sleep, healthy diet, showering, exercise - madly helpful to sustain a nourishing sense of body and clear mind. Finding true friends and asking for emotional reassurance wasn't a mistake, wasn't a shameful decision either. My virtual friend, you are not the only lonesome here. From the scrutiny of my experience and expertise I am convicted that we can change ourselves. It depends on an objective, environmental factor that gives you that understanding and pushes you to supersede one thing with the other. I'm sincerely delighted to help you, as I see my struggles within yours. No matter the letters, seek yourself. And always take care of your needs and your thinking❤
I have to say I've met a lot of ENTPs who have a tendency to generalize and jump to conclusions, despite their SiTi nitty gritty microanalysis :)) It might be due to their overall Fe eagerness. But in the areas they're well versed at, they're very insightful. I wish these comparison videos can also be a bit longer tho
Hi there, I'm not sure if you'll see this but I REALLY hope you will. I'm not sure if you take any suggestions for videos and perhaps this might seem a bit beneath you given your deep understanding of the CPT/MBTI types, but I really wanted to ask if you could please please do a video/series of Dungeons and Dragons classes as the CPT/MBTI types, or which (if not multiple) D&D classes might resonate with a given type or which class(es) might feel most comfortable and natural for each type to play as. I've always thought the D&D classes might reflect well on the Types; considering each class' unique approach to taking in information, making decisions, growth at stages, planning and means of enactment of said plans (if any at all) and their means of interacting with the world in different ways. I'd love a description and correlation of these and I'd thought this would be a really interesting project/thought experiment/analysis to undertake, especially since most sites or sources that exist on this comparison are only surface-level using the pop-psychology understanding of each of the Types. I would love to see it, and I just want to say that I love your videos and respect and appreciate your in-depth understanding and broadcasting of the truth regarding the types according to their cognitive functions ❤ please keep it up, and know you and your work are appreciated!

To be honest, I've been confused between being these two types. On one hand, I'm extremely deterministic. For example, I attempted to make sense of what is without using the word 'something', that is, I was in a quest to define reality itself. I couldn't (for now). I can only reason by logically determining what I'm reasoning about, otherwise I cannot process it. On the other hand, I'm also appalled by certain behaviors, such as dishonesty and cowardice. I have firm principles by which I stand, the problem is, I'm also too willing to let others behave immorally around me as long as it's consistent with their nature. If I think someone's actions are incongruent with their words (for example, they call me a friend but they don't react to my insta memes, while they react to my best friend's), my first reaction is to cut them off. Sometimes I explode and dedicate a complete essay as to why our relationship doesn't work. This is not SOCIONICS, but I have to admit I easily get over anything personal. I'm untouched by most (I think). I think most prefer to just leave you and expect you to understand, and I really don't get it, that's why I ask directly if there's a rule I broke or if there's an instance in which I was too much. I think it's lack of shame (I think). This is the new me however, after my glow-up, previously I was a pushover, I thought it was a me problem for being unable to keep up with others' expectations (i.e. not being funny/interesting/skillful enough) and I got flabbergasted when others reacted offended by my comments. Fortunately, I added those reactions to my database and I think I got a good handle of it. Maybe I'm just a weird-ass INTP who got traumatized by life despite getting a good handle of his extroversion. (still trying not to write ultimatums pertaining the nature of a particular friendly relationship anymore tho)

The utility of them are equally mediocre beyond general descriptions and other broad strokes
