After having used these for a season and a half, I have to agree with everything you said. I love the bush hog concept and the toughness of the blades, but I'm having to go over the yard 2, maybe even 3 times because they leave ridges of half cut grass. Take that $300 and buy a few sets of good quality blades.
I had a Snapper Pro S150XT zero turn that came with marbain steel blades, and these were already very good. Then I later added the mulch kit to it, which included high lift blades. It cut very well, and the reason is the design and aerodynamics of the deck. That plays a far bigger role in the quality of cut than most people realize, and I think Snapper Pro mowers are consistently underrated because they're associated with "consumer" grade mowers. The thing is, even their consumer-grade mowers were as good as or better than many "commercial" mowers. If you get high-lift blades you need an engine that can turn them at the proper RPM, and yeah, that can easily mean 25-30 HP because if your engine is underpowered your blade speed will drop drastically with high-lift blades and the cut quality will drop. My snapper pro had the Briggs vanguard v-twin rated around 27 HP. It as such a nice mower.
Thanks for the in-depth video. I have a 61" Skag and mow my 30-acre horse property. In the late summer - the pastures get really thick and the Dallisgrass seed heads are like cutting straw! the Skag is a beast, but when cutting at 5-6" (can't cut grazing pastures down lower if active) - i lose the lift and have to mow over sections twice - like you said. If I cut at 4" or lower - the 1st cut is muck cleaner. It doesn't worry me too much as I always like to go over twice to really mulch up the clippings so the dry quicker and disappear. Keep up the vids!
I replaced my factory blades with the Meg Mo blades on a 60" Z960 and have had very good results. I am using it at a rural property with lots of uneven terrain and unpredictable obstacles (rocks, ant piles, tree limbs, etc.) and the blades have performed very well so far whereas my factory blades were destroyed relatively quickly.
Another possible explanation is the time of year you are using the mower. I have fixed blade mowers that don’t mow as well in the summer as the woody stems of the weeds are harder and don’t lend themselves to being cut as easily. Keep that in mind as you evaluate your results during the course of the year.
What I took away from this video is that the Meg-Mo blades are more suited for mowing larger unimproved areas that do not require a “manicured” cut. Say, an open field that you simply don’t want overgrown but isn’t part of a “yard”.
My blades for my eXmark 52" Vantage arrived on Saturday ( 09April2022 ). My current blades by Rotary ( part# 11421 ) after 15 hours in Florida ( are always worn out ).Then, I installed the Meg-Mo blades at 318.1 hours on my mower; and started to mow my property 5 acres. Currently, I have mowed 2.6 hours with the Meg-Mo blades ( hour meter is 320.7 hrs ) and my lawn looks great and a much faster cutting time with these blades. OH YEA
I got the Meg Mo blades for my new Zero Turn Cub Cadet and the vibration was from them was so bad that I couldn’t use them anymore plus, I had to cut most of the grass a second time due to unevenly mowed patches
I have been running the meg-mo on a riding lawn mover with a 52 in deck (3 spindles )in Colorado with an almost pasture like field with many types of weeds. It works very well especially with all the small rocks that get hit. The only way I can get a smooth lawn look is to steer so that the middle of the mower is on the edge of the uncut grass (in other words half the cut width). That way all the uncut weeds are cut, and it just takes longer. Also the 20hp mower is almost not enough power with the meg-mo. And finally I have hit enough stuff that the set of blades needs replacing. I will now read more reviews on different blade types. Mostly I really liked the Meg-mo blades.
Doing the math, I just couldn't get over the swivel of the blades, considering that the purpose of a blade is to cut through grass, which when dense, could clearly cause the blades to swivel. Considering the longevity and cost of standard blades, I just couldn't see purchasing something that cost's 10 times as much. Is it 10 times better? No. Honestly, the only thing I can see good about them is the lower damage risk, but as anyone who has sharpened blades can tell you....15 minutes and your blade is good as new after sharpening. Thanks for your review!
I have a John Deere 130E riding mower. What I do is have my discharge open and make concentric circles always blowing the grass to the inside. That way I re-cut the grass from the previous pass. In heavy grass I just over lap a bit to get any windrow.
I like how the content went until the very last 2 seconds. I also watched the other video. Thanks for the trial and the demo on the various yard types and lengths. I hate the little strips of grass my mulcher makes, but sometimes I just deal with it. I'm curious how some of the other blades will turn out.
I have a John Deere commercial zero turn mower. If you do the hard work of finding the best blades I will go buy a set and tell you how they compare to my factory blades. Keep these great videos coming....
Most fabricated decks sacrifice air flow for longevity. A stamped deck will more cleanly move air, grass..and have a more powerful suction. Some manufacturers installed stamped baffles to try to better control this..but its a bandaid fix. These megmow blades definitely lack lift and the design itself seems to not take this into consideration...id assume because the mounting disc would distort if the 4 blade ends were "high lift"...and were acting as wings pushing down on the disc.
Just got mine recently. Doesn't seem to cut all the grass completely. Kind of disappointing but I am going to make sure my mower deck is a little lower in the front. But I'm pretty sure it already is. I think my old wore out blades cut just as well.
Just a thought … I am considering making a set of “x-blades” by simply drawing them tightly together, cutting them to proper length, mounting the sling type blades onto them using proper dimensions and hardware. That way I can run any combination of tips that I have available to me. I have already run the x-blades all summer by just crossing two blades at a 90, and have experienced no slippage. If necessary, I could just permanently pin the blades together. This configuration would give me the function of the Meg-Mo coupled with the 1/4” offset of every other cutting tip, which, so far has worked very well. Still plotting/planning just how to I want to proceed.
Thanks for doing the hard work on our behalf. I was very enthusiastic about the blades because I have a lot of rocks to navigate. While doing your testing be sure to run over a pile or two ;-)
My neighbor had one of these and run over a bull frog several times with out hurting it, he finally drove over and stoped on top the frog while I looked under the mower the frog would jump into the air as the blade come around no matter how fast the throttle setting the frog would dodge the blade.
Meg-Mo blades are really good, but the cost of the setup is expensive and the cost to replace the 4 knives on each spindle gets up there in cost. A single knife runs about $8-9/each or $35/spindle. With 3 spindles that's $100+ to replace the knives. You can buy almost 3 sets of Oregon Gator Blades for that price. If you have the money to spend on the Meg_Mo system, it's really great.
Thank you for your willingness to do these reviews. I'm having the same issue right now. I own a Cub Cadet ZTX4 zero turn, one great mower with a serious chute & hose clogging problem when the grass is damp from dew or a little over 4.5" I keep my grass higher due to high heat during the day and attempt to save water. It's driving me crazy. I also own and love my John Deere 4310 Compact Tractor that is not set up to mow our sod lawn with beds & trees. Can't wait to search your videos for some ideas. Thank you again.
Good video. I ordered a set of the Meg-Mo blades a few days after your original video about them. I installed them on my Ferris IS600Z and they are working great! The blades that came with my Ferris are great and discharged grass about 8 feet. The Meg-Mo blades are discharging about 10-11 feet. I am very happy with my Meg-Mo set and would buy them again. You mentioned other blades you wanted to try…. My favorite blades, after the Meg-Mo blades are the Fisher Barton “Marbain” blades which are excellent. The various Ballard blades are really good too! Ballard has a “low lift”, a “high lift”, and a “ripper” style blade. They also have an X-blade that combines a “ripper” blade with another blade in a “X” pattern that give excellent results. Especially in spring and fall with wet grass or leaves, but I have also used the X-Blade year around with good results. Hope that helps.
Good explanation, ive heard rumblings in the past about inefficiencies within certain lines of john deere mowers. Looking forward to the further testing!
After using these blades for a season, on a commercial toro 54”. There is no doubt they cut far better than the factory blades. I will definitely recommend them. Yes I have used several different types for 10 seasons on a 3 acre property, this is a far better product…slow to get but worth the wait and price 👍
I bought a set of meg-mo blades for my mowers from your recommendation,I fell in love with the idea of the swing away blades. I am not a commercial mower but i do mow about an acre and a half twice a week during the grow season. So far they are flippin awesome. No more wind row and I never have to go over twice. My heart dropped when i watched this megmo video😔😔
I just subscribed to your channel because like some of your other viewers, I to love your honesty! I hope you always keep fact based honesty to all your videos!
On the Meg Mos I’ve read on multiple forums that they don’t cut well, but some guys with lawn services will use them only for doing leaves. I tried the X blades on the 52” deck on my Toro 522xi with the adapter plates. I didn’t notice much of a difference in cut but it was more difficult starting the mower deck because of the flywheel effect. I had to release the tensioner arm on the mule drive, turn on the electric PTO and then get off the seat and re engage the tensioner arm on the mule drive. I returned to just using one Oregon high lift blade per spindle which is a good match for the long thick farm lawn I mow twice a month.
Good video Brock, Glad I didn't order yet i don't think Id like to mow twice myself... LOL. I'm not sure what kind of lift the 2R series deck have, Looking forward to the upcoming blades your going to demo.
I have a cub cadet zr1. It's a 50" mower. It's a beast and I love it. The blades dull as quick as any other. I don't mind sharpening them. It doesn't take long. Manufacturers don't just put on any old blade. They spend millions designing and testing deck designs with blade designs. Use the oem blades and you'll get the best results. Maintain your machine and it'll last. Sometimes in the thick tall stuff you might just need to slow down. Bummer.... cheers.😂
@@RockhillfarmYT the design and the way you explained them in your first video had me thinking, I'll just go ahead and get a set. I also did a bunch of research on line. I was just too busy to order them. Sometimes procrastination pays off! Ha! Thanks again, Brock. 👍
I have a Craftman lawn tractor, with a 38 inch deck. Sears uses the star drive hole in the blade. I can't keep the blade from slipping on the spindle, because of the straight round hole.
@@RockhillfarmYT no returns. I guess at this point it won't hurt to try to weld nubs on the inside of the bore, like the star points of the craftsman blades and see if those will hold.
Have you tried Gator blades these things are great. they are thicker than regular blades and the a up sweep on the back of the blade that have teeth cut in them. I live in northern ohio and early in the year the rain makes it hard to cut the lawn every week my grass got so thick and tall that when i did get it cut with the gator blades that the grass was white underneath
I don’t. I should probably look that up. I just had a bunch of comments that asked what the big deal was because all mowers come with similar blades in Australia Megmo representative told me they had a patent on their specific design
Go simplicity bro. Probably the best lift most comfortable and sexiest lines. All my other tractors are John Deere but my finish mower will always now be a simplicity.
Outrageous price. I could see the value on a 38" mower deck if it was like the clipper blades they now make for weed trimmers. But 138 bucks for 2 blades? Ya right.
I had a z950 with the mulch on demand deck it left wind rows 8 had to trade it in for a 950 regular deck no more wind rows. Sounds like it could be the deck it's self.
When I was younger I was a big John Deere fan for tractors , and other brand names for different products , cars and trucks , tools , appliances etc. And I believe that at that time my beliefs were justified. Nowadays , however , things have changed. For one thing very few products are manufactured in the USA anymore. Even if they claim they are 'manufactured' here , when you dig into it you find that many or even most of the components are manufactured in other countries , especially electronics. And they are only 'assembled' in the USA. And there is good and bad with that. Another thing you find is that multiple brand names are manufactured by the same companies , and/or share many of the same components. Everything is outsourced these days , so there isn't much of an argument anymore for being brand-loyal. Don't get too hung up on being brand-specific in your purchasing habits , unless of course if you can find products that are genuinely manufactured in the USA.
Blades might be good for a golf course and ball fields. A good Marban steel Blade will out last 2 to 1.Only draw back is if you hit a rock it will chip.
From your first video to this video. You went from talking about how clean the cut was to now its not so clean. It's been 5 weeks and everyday use. You went from saying your gonna put them on every mowing deck you've got to now your taking them off. I think you have just dulled them out from use. Just lift the mower with your tractor and take a fine file easily across all the edges, just brush the edges back up and then see if your cut gets cleaner. I honestly think you will get back to the same clean cut in your first video. And you won't have to re balance them because you said they still have a pretty good edge, so you wouldn't be taking out alot of material with the file. You would just be fine tuning the edges back up to the same condition as new. I would try that before I stopped use of the product, 5 weeks everyday use all types of grass is more use than some blades see all season. I am in no way being disrespectful or rude, this is just my opinion, Thank you for your videos and I respect and appreciate what you do.
Very thoughtful and careful analysis, nicely presented. Got some talent for scientific analysis - think, try, observe carefully, challenge your own conclusions, and be open to other observers. Thanks.
Just curious, I know they make this for push mowers but how does this blade system work in terms on uneven terrain? I look for blades that give the most cleanest and straightest cut. Also is the price worth it? I believe a push mower blade is close to $70.00 off their site, I generally don't go over $30.00.
Thanks for the Good honest review. Now off this topic. What is the pond status? Are you in a drought there? Sure am here in my part of Missouri. My pond is dropping like crazy. Down 2 foot plus now. And I also noticed you have many trees in the background that have the leaves turning. They are just slightly starting to turn here. Have a nice day! Do a rain dance please.
Our pond was down quite a bit before I did the expansion and it has only rained once since then. I think it’s down two or 3 inches since we finished digging
I’m guessing that question was actually for Rick but I grew up in southwest Missouri and lived here my whole life. Moved just across the Kansas border about 10 years ago. We have had pretty good rain all year until the last month and it’s been really dry
Thanks for sharing! Great vid. Maybe it’s down in the comments somewhere but we have burmuda here in north tx. Anyone using them in tx recommend or don’t recommend them?
We try to keep away from Bar Blades here in Australia swing blades are the best ...and last way longer ...we have had swing blades ever since I was a kid on All 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines
Brock ur not wrong and don't change how positive you feel about test out a new product. I agree with you and can't wait for your to open this can of worms it will be fun and interesting. If you happen to get a kubota mower to test I say a z421 60 cut with the 24hp kawasaki engine. I have one and almost 200hrs on it and it's been great.
@@RockhillfarmYT yes sir. This is my second mower of the commander series. I got a z124 48" cut and 24hp Briggs when they first came out and traded it in on the one I have now.
@@RockhillfarmYT It’s got the the factory ones on it still. I been looking at the gator blades. I think they will work good. I have some friends that run them on all their mower blades.
Blades are the same to get a nice clean cut you have to keep them sharp you can't cut for 3 weeks the expect to have a clean cut and scag mowers have the best high lift deck those blades look like they would do great if u opened the shot but the price is crazy
I have run high lift, gator, xblade, etc. I currently have a set of meg mo on order. Really curious to try them out. I look at my blade selection as a situational decision. In the summer when I need a good stripe and I’m cutting frequently I will go with a sharp high lift blade. In the fall when I need to deal with leaves I will go to a gator or xblade. The big issue I have had with xblade is the strain it puts on the mower and the fuel consumption. Hoping the meg mo will give me the benefits of the xblade while being a bit lighter and easier on the mower.
I did a final review that was kind of long-winded. Bottom line I decided they weren’t worth it for me, but that might be because my stand on mowers are a little bit under powered. Feels like these blades don’t get enough lift
I have X blades on my mower and it’s not much difference. I was hoping to get a better cut from them but it is no different. I put new blades on my machine as recommended when I got the adapters. It’s all about the technology of the deck engineering.
I just ordered a set for my cub cadet zero turn 50 Inch deck and they manufacture the center hole without the star design, the tolerances are very tight that they hold tight on the spindle and with less torque and the way the blades swing away they don't damage the spindle according to the manufacturer with the mounting bolts tight
Hey There! I am the oldest son of the owners of the company. please reach out to me, I would like to connect with you on the minor concern you have. lets have a conversation. we appreciate the honest reviews. thanks!
Would you recommend these for a dedicated rough area mower where cut quality isn’t a concern? I have an old Ferris walk behind that I keep around for knocking down rough areas. I was thinking of upgrading to a proper brush cutter mower but they’re thousands of dollars. Maybe a set of these blades would boost the rough area performance of my Ferris enough that I won’t need to get a brush cutter.
I finally got my Meg MO blades and I can't use them! Waited almost 8 weeks for them to get here. I opened the box and right on top is an additional instruction diagram attached to the installation instructions. It shows and says that the center hole fits around the star... Nope! The hole is way to small. That's 2 strikes for Meg MO, customer service was not good and they apparently sent the wrong blades or have the wrong data for my John Deere.
I don’t have any advice. I’ve been doing some test with this brand and I think I like them but I want to try a few more things before the final verdict. But I’m also going to demo other brands. Until I do that it’s not an educated opinion
I cannot imagine the huge lawsuit that will come down on you when one blade (2500 RPM/219 MPH tip speed) wears through the high strength bolt and kills your neighbors dog or worse. The discharge chute is on the deck for a reason, foreign object knock down.. I say good luck for those users who don't watch bold wear for (thin sections) in the high strength bolts.
As mentioned in the video, I don’t use them The mower has electronic mulch on demand that doesn’t open 100% when open so there’s still a metal deflector to knock debris down
I have never personally ran a scag. I know they sell them for scag mower’s My plan is to demo several different mowers on the channel in the spring Thanks for watching
I couldn't help myself you say you like John Deere I'm a farmer and I hate to say this it breaks my heart John Deere is not a good company anymore you buy $500,000 combine or tractor and they will not give you the codes to work on it
A DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER of the meg mo, my 52 inch deck standard blades are 18 inches, they sent blades 17 3/4 inches they leave streak in semi heavy grass, DRY, we have not had any rain for 5 weeks. Probably usless in wet grass. Recontacted them all I get is ALL SALES FINAL.
I have to agree with you. I am very Dissatisfied with my Meg-Mo Blades, I cut 12 acres and these blades are dull and the lift wings are almost worn into, after just one cutting. I complained and was sent a list of things to try and make them last longer but as of right now the Meg-Mo Blades last half as long as my standard high lift blades that I get 2 to 3 cuttings before sharpening. These were a complete waste of time and money. No way possible to recommend these to anybody, there junk!

I greatly appreciate your update and candid thoughts. Looking forward to your follow up tests of blades/mowers. Thanks
I’m looking forward to that too. Thanks for watching
Thanks
What model and deck size do you have
Most fabricated decks sacrifice air flow for longevity.
My 648R doesn't cut as well as my Z930M. I agree with the lift issue on these.
I’d like to see that.
I really think the swivel design has merit please just don’t seem to have enough left in my opinion
Good luck with your project
Make absolutely 💯 percent those blades STAY at 90°
Thanks for doing the hard work on our behalf. I was very enthusiastic about the blades because I have a lot of rocks to navigate. While doing your testing be sure to run over a pile or two ;-)
Yeah. I want to try these on a different mower
well thank you and the honesty is greatly appreciated
Thanks for sharing
@@RockhillfarmYT have you tried wet grass compared to x blade gator type style blades
I have not. I was planning to but haven’t yet
Yeah, they cut really well the first time and I kept thinking I had to of done something wrong but I don’t know why they aren’t cutting well
@@RockhillfarmYT I think it's the deck as you mentioned not creating enough lift.
What mower are you using
John Deere 652R stand on with the electronic mulch on demand
It seems like you don’t have enough horsepower. Mine is zx54 commercial. No problem at all. Finest blades yet 👍
@@jeffsteelman8036
Yeah I’d love to have about 30hp.
I have a set of meg-mo's on my Bad Boy and I love them. Clean cut no wind rows.
Awesome
Thanks for sharing
The bridge looks great. I might have to try this blade. Thanks.
Thanks for watching
Bummer.... cheers.😂
Well, I'm glad I procrastinated on ordering them...ha. Looking forward to seeing the demo videos on the other blades. 👍
I love the design so I really wanted to like these but they just don’t cut well enough
@@RockhillfarmYT the design and the way you explained them in your first video had me thinking, I'll just go ahead and get a set. I also did a bunch of research on line. I was just too busy to order them. Sometimes procrastination pays off! Ha! Thanks again, Brock. 👍
I am currently using the xblade set up and love it.
I have a Craftman lawn tractor, with a 38 inch deck. Sears uses the star drive hole in the blade. I can't keep the blade from slipping on the spindle, because of the straight round hole.
That’s unfortunate. Not sure what the solution for that would be. You might try contacting customer service
@@RockhillfarmYT no returns. I guess at this point it won't hurt to try to weld nubs on the inside of the bore, like the star points of the craftsman blades and see if those will hold.
I had a long conversation with the owner of the company yesterday and he made a few suggestions that I’m going to try. Thanks for watching
Do you think those "no flat" tires contribute to the grass being flattened down more so that it's not being lifted as it should?
Have you tried Gator blades these things are great. they are thicker than regular blades and the a up sweep on the back of the blade that have teeth cut in them. I live in northern ohio and early in the year the rain makes it hard to cut the lawn every week my grass got so thick and tall that when i did get it cut with the gator blades that the grass was white underneath
Are they better than Gator blades?
💥 Interesting that they are very popular in Australia. Do you know if there are other companies that offer them there?
*Keep on tractoring!*
I don’t. I should probably look that up.
I just had a bunch of comments that asked what the big deal was because all mowers come with similar blades in Australia
Megmo representative told me they had a patent on their specific design
Thank you for your time and efforts.
Go simplicity bro. Probably the best lift most comfortable and sexiest lines. All my other tractors are John Deere but my finish mower will always now be a simplicity.
I paid $450 for my electric mulch system on my JD X590. Used it 1 season and ripped it off and threw it in the garbage.
I am in no way being disrespectful or rude, this is just my opinion,
Thank you for your videos and I respect and appreciate what you do.
Excellent update! I was actually considering these blades for our mower, but I think I'll pass. I depend on a nice clean cut. -Chad #purplecollarlife

I've been using the megmo blades for years... I think they are the best blades on the market
Ballard X-blades👍
Very thoughtful and careful analysis, nicely presented. Got some talent for scientific analysis - think, try, observe carefully, challenge your own conclusions, and be open to other observers. Thanks.
Thanks
thanks for keeping it real
I really wanted to love these but They just aren’t cutting well enough
Thanks for watching
Just wondering about the lone Javadof the blades
Are you in northern mo I live in the bootheel and we have had rain pretty much every week this year it seems like
I’m guessing that question was actually for Rick but I grew up in southwest Missouri and lived here my whole life.
You’ve got a great channel!! Love your through reviews and content on the products that you use and or test out.
Thanks
I really try so I appreciate the kind works
We try to keep away from Bar Blades here in Australia swing blades are the best ...and last way longer ...we have had swing blades ever since I was a kid on All 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines

Do a review of the Ballard industries gold blades!!!
Thanks for sharing. Everybody seems to like those Kubota mowers
@@RockhillfarmYT yes sir. This is my second mower of the commander series. I got a z124 48" cut and 24hp Briggs when they first came out and traded it in on the one I have now.
I just got a Deere z915 54”. Trying to decide on the type of blades I want.
I stopped using these. Everyone’s been telling me to try the gator highlift blades
@@RockhillfarmYT It’s got the the factory ones on it still. I been looking at the gator blades. I think they will work good. I have some friends that run them on all their mower blades.
The better the vaccume on the blades the better the cut .. Look for blades with better suction ..
I hope they work well for you. I found that they did a great job of mulching but didn’t leave a very clean cut on stringy weedy grass
@@RockhillfarmYT those stringy weeds r hard to for any blade to cut
How do they strip
where can i get the bush hog blades
Any update video on the Meg mo blades?
I did a final review that was kind of long-winded. Bottom line I decided they weren’t worth it for me, but that might be because my stand on mowers are a little bit under powered.
Feels like these blades don’t get enough lift
Great update.
Thanks
how much do they cost bc I got John Deere zero turn but my my dealer don't have them
great information thanks ..
I have X blades on my mower and it’s not much difference. I was hoping to get a better cut from them but it is no different. I put new blades on my machine as recommended when I got the adapters. It’s all about the technology of the deck engineering.
I built X blades myself and noticed no difference.
Love how he gives honest opinion on this
Anyone know if they have em for cub 6 point star? I’ll keep looking in the mean time. Thanks for the vid!!!
For walk behind mowers, I haven’t found anything better than my Honda blades.
Thanks for sharing
If a company has been around for 30 years and you can get the owner on the phone that should tell you something.
They don’t clean the deck out well so the deck gets stuffed full and then it wind rows. Not best for wife mowers.
Hey There! I am the oldest son of the owners of the company. please reach out to me, I would like to connect with you on the minor concern you have. lets have a conversation. we appreciate the honest reviews. thanks!
Where did you get the wheels from on your stand on I’m looking at getting a set like that ? thank you .
I ordered the mower with those tweels on it
Would you recommend these for a dedicated rough area mower where cut quality isn’t a concern?
I have an old Ferris walk behind that I keep around for knocking down rough areas. I was thinking of upgrading to a proper brush cutter mower but they’re thousands of dollars. Maybe a set of these blades would boost the rough area performance of my Ferris enough that I won’t need to get a brush cutter.
That might be a good application. The strength of the product is that it can hold up to some abuse
@@RockhillfarmYT yeah sounds like they’d be a bit tougher and not stop the engine if I hit something solid.
@@perrinayebarra won't stop the motor but eventually in thick enough stuff they'll just stay folded back and then you're just driving over everything
@@maxm921 thats exactly what I was thinking they would do in really thick grass.
@@joefrick1335 yea I had a set, I liked them for certain things but they had a lot of drawbacks for me.
Great idea. Doesn't warrant the cost.
That sucks
How do they run on a good zero turn???
I never found out.
I’ve got the hustler X one now but it’s a different blade size with a 72 inch deck
Help! I want a better blade to replace the blade on my new 2021 80v 21" Kobalt mower. Can you advise me?
I don’t have any advice. I’ve been doing some test with this brand and I think I like them but I want to try a few more things before the final verdict.
But I’m also going to demo other brands.
Until I do that it’s not an educated opinion
@@RockhillfarmYT - Thanks . Looking forward to your results.
If you mow deck is dirty and full of crap underneath no blade will lift the grass to cut ....you need speed and must be clean
I only buy hi-lift blades
I'm very pessimistic about everyone
I do apologize for the "nit wit" coment
I cannot imagine the huge lawsuit that will come down on you when one blade (2500 RPM/219 MPH tip speed) wears through the high strength bolt and kills your neighbors dog or worse. The discharge chute is on the deck for a reason, foreign object knock down..
I say good luck for those users who don't watch bold wear for (thin sections) in the high strength bolts.
As mentioned in the video, I don’t use them
The mower has electronic mulch on demand that doesn’t open 100% when open so there’s still a metal deflector to knock debris down
I have had the KAVLI BLADE. I’m not very impressed with them.
did you try the cutlass blades
How about on a Scag...
I have never personally ran a scag. I know they sell them for scag mower’s
My plan is to demo several different mowers on the channel in the spring
Thanks for watching
Are you looking at me or the donkey 🫏 eating 🍽️ the pie 🥧 sitting on the tractor 🚜🧌😬🙄🫣
$300 shipped is a bit too pricey for what they are.
I was really excited by the design but I pretty much agree with you
They cut like bush hog blades. Imagine my surprise.
